Thanks. It’s not to bad to do. Just take your time go slow welding the sheet metal and make sure you have everything squared up and lined back up on the frame. Check out my 83 k20. It was a long bed that I cut down last year. I didn’t film any of it and if I do another 4x4 I will wait to lift it until after. The 87 was easier since it was lower to the ground. Stay tuned once I get my 83 finished I’m going to cut my 67 down from long to short.
It’s not that bad to do if you can weld and read a tape. It does take a lot of time to do though. We about worked our tail off trying to do it in a weekend. Shortness are getting harder to find and very $$$$ around here.
.030 solid core wire with 75/25 shielding gas. I believe I had the wire speed at about 195 and the voltage around 19-19.5 and the induction I leave at 6 for everything. I usually set the welder up with a piece of scrap from where I’ve cut out. I had a Lincoln 180 that was my grandpas and it got stolen and a 140 that i had forever and the drive motor went out. I’ve really been impressed with the titanium welder for the money. I didn’t think it would compare to my Lincoln but it has exceeded my expectations.
Dam nice truck I got a 85 long bed 4+4 now I wanna do this y’all made it look easy and professional

Thanks. it’s a lot of work but sure looks better
Looks good!
Thank you!!!
I don't have the tools or smarts to do this, that's why I only buy short bed trucks.

You have to leave the rims alone dude. Its ok if you get rid of the tires 235 /65/ R15 for the front & back 235 /50/R15
@@rudyflores9395 they are still Tennessee orange. The tires have been changed to 265/70/15 in the back and a 235/75/15 in the front.
