amazing tut peej! only thing i think u forgot was to mention that for the elastic curves, set the edge behavior to reflect on the transform. i was tripping when my scenes had black bars and werent matching up
THIS is what type of tutorials we need, you truly did an amazing job with this tutorial. I love the straightforwardness and the pace you talk at aswell as everything else, just pure perfection. Great tutorial man, you deserve to hear that!
There are some incredible Resolve tutorial channels, but you are one of my top favorites. You teach exactly the types of effects and transitions that I want to learn how to do in Resolve. All of my previous projects were done in Vegas Pro which was extremely limited. I haven't completed any full projects in Resolve yet (currently using Intel integrated graphics which is s...o... s...l...o...w... but I'll be getting a good graphics card soon), but the little bit I have done and in my testing I've seen a huge step up in quality and it's channels like this that have made all the difference. Resolve has such a great community. I'm definitely glad I made the switch!
God damn. Professional video editor here, I've never in my life made an AMV and probably never will, but I still learned a bunch about the Resolve Fusion panel in this video! It's the one part of Resolve I've kinda left alone over the last few years, but you've inspired me to learn more about it. Great video!
Unfortunatelly I have to quit editing due to personal reasons, but I still like to watch your tuts Hopefully in the future I can edit again and try out all your new banger tuts coming soon
I just downloaded davinci resolve and your tutorials have made my first amv look really good, this transition specifically was the highlight of the whole amv
Dude awesome teaching in this video, I'm just getting into Davinci. I especially love the whole "When to use this slide" examples at the end it makes it really come together and showcase how these little edits can make something feel so much more natural and special! Great job!
I sincerely appreciate you teaching these. Even if i dont wind up using these for AMVs (although i might for my own music) I did not even know where to start on any of these types of transitions. I love how concise you were in showing all this!
I've been loving certain AMVs (made by people or this one nightcore channel called UNDERDOGS) and admiring the little details because I am quite a perfectionist and enthusiast. Finding you is a miracle, thank you. I finally found someone like me. You've respectfully earned my subscription.
I actually used this for a Valorant montage I'm making, and it worked really well. So it's useful outside of AMV's too! I might have to look at some of your other transitions now.
Man this is really impressive. I don’t make amv’s or anything, but I realized that I still got a lot to learn with editing, cuz I low key am very lacking in my skills in that department.
thank you this was so helpfull, you might already have a video on this, but how do you do it back and forth? (like left and then right with more then 2 clips)
thanx so much PeeJ..love you tutorials! whats your FPS usually? if for example you´re on 25 FPS, i would have to double the number of Frame-steps you take back or forth, if i´m on a 50 frames time line? and if i raise my FPS in the timeline higher than the original footage is, how bad is that?
Great build-up. Is there a way to create a preset out of it or any way to comfortably reload this transition in a new project? When I unite them in a compound clip I cannot adjust the individual adjustment layers anymore.
I didn't know I'll learn something so good today. Wow didn't know fusion has that much cool stuff. I only work with the color tab. Great work Peej! New Subscriber here!
o wow as a Beginer in Both Editing and in the Software you show me lots of new fun tools to play around with yay!. This is like Re-learning Blender Awesome!. i wonder if theres more Tutorials like this on youtube Hmmm... got any recommendations?
Is there a reason you choose to do some of the effects manually in fusion as opposed to using the preset effects already present in Davinci? Some of the effects you're making are achieved easier with the methods you shown, but others might produce similar results if you were to just drag and drop from the effects tab, not to mention easier and faster. So I was just wondering if the main reason for going into fusion every time, is that it simply allows for more detailed and accurate tweaking?
yes, going into fusion allows me to control every parameter of an effect the way I would like contrary to using the preset edit page effects, for me most importantly I like to control the spline graphs of everything
yes so if you hit Shift and then the right arrow key you will move to the right by exactly one second and then I just cut my clip, if you want a certain amount of frame numbers forward I believe if you just type "+" and then the amount of frames forward you want to go and hit enter it will move the playhead by the amount of frames you typed in
Hey PeeJ, at 2:09 when you added Mirror to the edges, while the Transition ends Mirror Edge is still there on my Clip, whereas in your Edit at the end of the Clip Mirror edge is not there. I'm doing Exactly the same as you but can't tell what's the Difference. Is there something I'm seeing the Wrong Way ?
Hmm, I‘ve usually been using the standard video transitions in the edit page, because I was too lazy, but never really got the look I wanted. Guess I‘ll have to use the fusion page 😂
I moved from Vegas to davinci 2 days ago and everything seems to be much more fluent. But... It takes too much time to custom the nodes. Is there any way to save node preset or (preferably) effect preset?? 😭

Making a "simple" slide transition into art needs skill and creativity... that's not an educational video / tutorial, that's an inspirational video!

I use 24, I'm not sure about the second part of your question, a higher amount of frames will allow more warpy spots for your twix
Your tutorials are 11/10, thanks so much for making them!
Wtf videos so good are too underrated. Best tutorial I've seen ever.

damn, so much effort for such a short clip! damn i never knew how much work went into AMV vids!

That was NUTS !!!! Loved It also, we would love to see the Last Davinci Resolve Logo Animation which went into your Channel Name.
i am an absolute noob in daVinci since i have always edited in premiere pro, but with your videos i think i might have to switch :)
yuh
Installed, everything works, thanks!
literally got baited by Ichigo, and the first frame i see is zerotwo. I take it that you have a very good taste.
Is it possible to save all of those adjustment clips as one compound clip and use it for transitions?
What a good tutorial, thanks!
Can you talk about how you re use them ? How to save the Adjustment clips for later use?
can it be put into one compound clip instead above instead of having to have 4 video layers above?
Yes, I just do it like this cause I have presets for it and it is easier to visualize each part
I watched this video and wow I really like it your explain everything perfectly and I can just understand everything keep up bro
What key did you press at 1:53 to show frame guidelines? That would make my life so much easier! Thx in advance!

what davinci resolve do you use?? i mean what year of davinci resolve
I use version 17.4.3

Great build-up. Is there a way to create a preset out of it or any way to comfortably reload this transition in a new project? When I unite them in a compound clip I cannot adjust the individual adjustment layers anymore.
If you do all of the effects in one or two adjustment clips then you can easily reuse it by dragging the saved adjustment clip from your power bin

hi great vid! may I ask how you automatically shorten the clips to a certain duration?
yes so if you hit Shift and then the right arrow key you will move to the right by exactly one second and then I just cut my clip, if you want a certain amount of frame numbers forward I believe if you just type "+" and then the amount of frames forward you want to go and hit enter it will move the playhead by the amount of frames you typed in

do you think that this can be done in premiere pro?
idk, I never used it
The new twix helps a lot with these effects

can you do this with the 3d camera?
You have to do everything step by step and you will succeed. You must disconnect everything from PC protection. Thank you, Tutorials Buddy
You should definitely make preset transitions for this!
using this technique from now on

I moved from Vegas to davinci 2 days ago and everything seems to be much more fluent. But... It takes too much time to custom the nodes. Is there any way to save node preset or (preferably) effect preset?? 😭
