There's even a crossdressed character that looks a lot like Kurapika, who gets misgendered a lot, and had scenes in 1999 that would make you question his gender. The idea was rejected simply because it wasn't interesting enough. I think this would solidify the idea that Killua is indeed, gay. Togashi wanted to create a sports manga with crossdressing and homosexual characters. There's even a crossdressed character that looks a lot like Kurapika, who gets misgendered a lot, and had scenes in 1999 that would make you question his gender. The idea was rejected simply because it wasn't interesting enough. I think this would solidify the idea that Killua is indeed, gay. Not to mention his brother is canonically married to Hisoka, who he often appears with and even has matching outfits.
