- Nearly 5 years since the reintroduction of the #ToyotaSupra, the company has managed to keep the newest #GRSupra fresh with updates every year. For 2024, the #GRSupra45thAnniversary plays an homage to the 2001 film, #TheFast&Furious with this Mikan Blast 45th Anniversary special. It builds on the #Supra Premium 3.0L trim with unique wheels, graphics, an adjustable wing out back, and this exclusive orange paint color.

What does not being able to afford the car have to do with acknowledging that it is not a Toyota Supra. It's a Z4 with Supra name over it. Does the car look good, absolutely 💯 but it's not a Supra.

I think you might have said that wrong - I believe that engine is a 6 cylinder, not a 4 cylinder. A 3.0 liter would be a huge 4 cylinder.

Watched your video many years ago on the 2017 Civic Type R, sold me on it and I owned it for 6 years and loved every minute of it. Now, in 2023, your video helped me put a deposit down for a 2024 supra :) you’re awesome dude!!
As a Supra owner, I'm not understanding the excitement. It's a unique color, but nothing else sets it apart enough to justify it for me. Almost no one will ever have a clue that it's a special edition. No badging on the exterior or interior and no additional performance perks is a waste, in my opinion. Especially considering they will no doubt cost thousands more than the normal GR. No, thanks. I'll keep mine. A few grand made mine look better than this special edition anyway.

Looks amazing. I have been a fan since this generation dropped. I just hate all cars are getting so expensive. This should be a 40k car I feel. Not dissing the car but you go into Corvette prices at 60k.
The C8 Vette is way better looking and performance as well.

@nicko8549 this is incorrect. The base C8 at the time was about 60k. So I am not sure if you are across seas but in the USA it is 60k base.

I love my GTI because it's functional and makes more sense as a daily driver, but the supra is my dream car. The Miata is pretty sick too. Carrera if I was financially irresponsible.
So a little paint, a sticker down the side, a spoiler that doesn't look very good and now has drilled holes in the truck lid and a badge. And they call it an anniversary edition? No additional hp, no interior upgrades or fixes? I assume it still doesn't sync the climate controls or allow half the world to connect their phones via Android auto. It's kind of a letdown. But I still love this car overall.

This is the best special edition Supra they’ve done to date. The only thing they could do at this point to top this is to offer a Targa top with a manual transmission with this B58 inline six. Well done Toyota!
Indeed, regardless of the engine being inherited from BMW, it's still a great engine and the closest we're getting to a 3JZ, Toyota knows what they're doing, you can easily mod a B58, so I'd say this is a true successor to the MK4

Fast and Furious is like the only reason why people are obsessed with the MK4 Supra. Nobody would've cared about the 2JZ, without it.
The MK5 Supra is a fantastic revival of the nameplate, and it's also the perfect 2000GT successor, out of all the Supra generations.

Nobody wanted it which is why sales were so poor and why Toyota stopped making it. It's been well documented. 2jz is a legendary motor because it's cast iron, but you know the Fast and thr Furious helped the hype. It went from not being wanted to then being heavily wanted after 2001? Not a coincidence. Plus people don't understand it costs a lot of money to properly build a 2JZ.
@@user-dj5fu5on7n Brother, I was working on B16, B18, H22s before 2001 when the fast the furious came out which hyped the Supra. I was in the underground scene as a young high school punk ass kid doing illegal races and friend's older brothers racing for cash. I completely agree maybe the Honda scene we were both in kicked started it, but the movie definitely didn't help tame the hype of the MKIV.
FF definitely made it popular but tuners were already tuning mk4 long before the first FF movie. I was obsessed with the mk4 dating back to 1994. Even bought an mk2 as a first car when i got my license. Super street and Import tuner magazines would show these mk4s do 8 sec 1/4 mile....this was in the mid 90s, years before the first FF movie.

More accessories are always welcomed!! Regardless of whether they’re your taste our not it’s nice to see more options available and out on the road. I like the new wing but personally I’d prefer if it was wider but I’m happy it’s a provided regardless. I can’t wait to drive one of these some day I feel like it’s a pocket rocket of a car. Got the chance to sit in one at a local autoshow when it was first released and I remember feeling comfortable even with the interior being tight and focused.

This was the original color of the Supra in FF before they repainted it.
It is a master piece of course nevertheless the only stopper to no get one of this i; if the ecu can no be read and write to modify the performance 🙌🏻 anybody can inform what ecu is it and if i not locket out to modify?
