I was about to finally make my setup a bit cleaner and mount my surge protector under my desk. Of course drilling a couple of screws is obvious but I knew someone on youtube would post a way to make that even more trivial. thank you for this!
So I just bought that EXACT surge protector & looked up how to mount it on a whim, little did I know my entire life would be simplified by learning a hack i will use with pretty much everything I will ever mount again lol THANK YOU!!
Nice hack and I'm glad you mentioned using a level. I thought you did a dam good job until I saw you mount it on the scrap piece of wood. Something I'd totally do :)

I just bought this model from Amazon and it was brand new and sealed and the moment I plugged it in, in my room, it kept flashing red on the red light indicator for whatever reason. Is that unsafe and should be replaced? I don't know what that means
Didn't you pay attention? He even pointed out that the red led indicates a wiring fault. It means that the people who did the wiring in your house made a mistake. Ask someone with experience to fix the outlet, because you should NEVER use a surge protector without proper wiring!
Anyone else having a problem plugging into this particular surge protector? Only the ones down the center work for me. Edit: If anyone came here to see about this issue; make sure before you mount this to the bottom of a desk or anything like that, you shove a plug into each outlet a few times. Then mount it wherever. I didn’t know about their child safety mechanism and had to rip it off of the bottom of my desk, plug into every outlet several times and then mount it back on.
