Jihad & Desert Power Achievements as Najd! Arabian Missions are BUSTED! - The EU4 Completionist

- Hello everyone and welcome back to the channel. We haven't uploaded in almost 2 YEARS! Well I'm back and fully committed to continuing regular uploads of EU4 and related content to the channel. We will be uploading every single Thursday! And maybe a bit more if we get ahead of ourselves ;)
In this Europa Universalis IV [EU4] campaign we play as the small tribal nation of Najd and attempt to convert the world to Islam for the Jihad achievement, where we must own 500 Sunni provinces as the nation of Najd. In this campaign we also have a goal of getting the Desert Power achievement where we must have 1000 development within the Arabia region. So our goal is to play an extremely wide, yet surprisingly rall campaign. We also have side missions to get the Arabian Coffee achievement and Sworn Fealty. The new Arabian missions make this achievement easier than it has ever been, and I thoroughly enjoyed this run.

I am always surprised how quickly EU4 allows you to convert provinces it always feels like at end of the 15th century all Shia provinces are gone
By the end of the campaign I had something like 17% missionary strength without religious ideas or Mysticism. In some provinces I was able to overpower the 20% trade company penalty.
In CK3 that‘s nothing, most provinces will have their rulers faith within 30 years of the start date

@@zubal6121the worst thing is egypt, it starts with almost no muslims and as soon as you look back at there it is already fully converted
If they want to nerf conversion rate they'd have to remove the insane debuff of not having religious uniy
Or nerf the insane benefit of removing religious unity contribution
Tbh the mechanics in eu4 are so etched into the game major overhauls will make or break the game
Especially stacking modifier mechanics

finally the race for achievements is back!!!!
I started a couple years back from your videos! I had 1 achievment and played without ironman but now Ive got 183/363. Or about 50%. Dont play that often but when I do I do like you here, pick one or multiple achievments for one run and get them. :)
It's nice to see you back! I was following and doing the achievements side by side; I can't do the latest DLC but any others, I'll doo my best to suffer with you!

I’m pretty sure you can still get the Jihad achievement even after forming Arabia. Take that with a pinch of salt, but I remember asking about it on the Discord and iirc I was told forming Arabia doesn’t prevent the achievement.
I get Jihad as Arabia, so I can confirm that.
From now on I'm gonna go to the common/achievements.txt file for my info. But I probably would have stayed Najd for a long time anyways because of horde government.

@@icepyre You mean tribal federation? Because you can form Arabia as a horde and it's doesn't change your government type.

So glad you are back. Woohoo! One thing that would be super beneficial is to post which patch(es) you did this achievement on. That way people that find your channel in the future can follow the same mission trees you did in their play through.
Note: I am running 1.36.2 and the Najd mission tree is completely different - so either have to find your patch or rethink the opening.

What I always do in these situations is I make two parallel saves: one to continue a game as Najd and one as Arabia, to get the two achievements separately.

as stated by paradox, if you wanted to cross Sci-fi acheivements, desert power is doable with i don't like sand.
Glad to see you're still active, I used your channel a lot during my master's as the exploits helped make some achievement runs less annoying/time consuming

You're allowed to form Arabia for the Jihad achievement. The achievement wording is often incorrect in small ways, when in doubt, consult the wiki.
I wouldn't have done it anyways. Horde government is just so nice and I wanted to hold onto that for as long as possible. :)

Didn't you attack the Mamluks in 1529? but also again in 1533? Maybe it is from a restart and you left the footage of both in.
Damn I thought I caught that bit. Yes I dit an alt f4 shortly after declaring in 1529 and decided to wait for next tech.
By the way, what religion is you believe is the hardest to make a one faith with?
Confucianism because its not designed to convert provinces but to harmonize with other religions

Not sure if you've already recorded the next part, but one option could be expanding into India, as while it's not all Sunni yet you could propagate religion in order to spread it relatively quickly!
