Nicely done. After watching, I downloaded the Dr. Prius App to replace the Torque Pro app (which didn't work with my OBDII adapter). Thank you for this clarity.
Hi Adonis, Can I ask a favor? I bought a Friencity OBD2 Scanner Adapter from Amazon which I think is causing a problem with my Dr. Prius app. The app on my android will not connect -- it keeps saying it has a socket problem. Can you please tell me which scanner will work with the app? I appreciate your guidance.

In light of the fact that the Prius has regen braking, It's likely that hard deceleration means applying the brakes hard too. That will rapidly charge the traction battery again.
Hi @Adonis Arias Thank you for your video! Do you know why the app makes HV battery temperature red only at 120°? I believe that if battery temperature reaches 95° it makes sense to turn on the fan using the app's override battery temperature feature, am I correct? thanks
Man this is a great video, thank you! I'm going to look at a 2007 prius with 360k miles on it, I am going to run this app to see if the battery is good before I buy, this video is tremendously helpful. Curious how the battery held up at 70% for you? Have you replaced it yet? Thank you for the video!
Thats awesome, I'm glad that this video was helpful! I wish I knew about this when I went and bought my prius, it definitely would have come in handy with negotiating a final price. As for my prius, at 70% its doing just fine! I average about 45 to 50 MPG. I run the test about every few weeks and its at the same 70%. Once I start to notice some major drops in MPG, I'll then consider swapping the battery out. Hope this helps, and best of luck!
@@AdonisArias My dad had an 07 Prius and the battery eventually went out at 250,000 mi. I believe the car still drove it just threw an error saying that the battery needed replacing. @@mmedeuxchevaux based on the little bit that I know, this won’t do any damage to the hybrid system or engine. This is simply done to fully charge the hybrid battery(which takes a 2-3 minutes or less), and then draining it slowly using the different components that drain down the battery. And if the battery block is completely dead, that would mean it would be time to replace the entire hybrid battery. A company called green bean specializes in the latter. I’ve never heard of someone swapping out just one block, I’m sure it’s possible though. One of my blocks isn’t looking too good(no completely dead yet), so I might be having to swap out the hybrid battery soon. I will definitely post a video on it when it happens.
