He is supposed to be the next goalpost which seems achievable for the protagonists in terms of power, as opposed to beerus who is still somehow leagues above them.
Not really, at least in the manga Beerus no longer seem to be that far ahead anymore. His reaction to Black Freeza seems to imply that Goku, Vegeta and Freeza are dangerously close to Beerus
@@bloody4558that’s probably true and full power Beerus might be the final “boss” so to say, started Super with him and ends with him, I’d say that’s fitting
Beerus is a moving goal post. God Goku interests him, Blue Kaioken scares him, Jiren is stated to be stronger than Gods of Destruction and Goku reaches a level that Beerus has not reached yet to beat Jiren. So clearly, 100% certainty Goku surpassed Beerus here (he has also grown billions of times stronger sinse God form with interested Beerus). And then he has grown much stronger in 3 arcs sinse then. Yet they are weaker still than Beerus. It hit the point where it breaks every form of logic. Logistically, thematically, etc, which leaves us with just bad writing. It’s honestly not that big of a deal at the moment, especially if the anime changes things a bit (especially sinse the ToP anime made it even more clear UI Goku surpassed Beerus) but it will become a huge problem when we finally surpass Beerus and all the emotions are no longer there because we’ve done this years ago already

@@LordExor It's not necessarily that he's friendlier, it's just that comparatively, he's far less ruthless and bloodthirsty. In the first Frieza saga, he was literally rupturing Z fighters and shooting holes through people for fun. He took out an entire Namekian village for literally no reason, he could have just taken their dragon ball with no issues whatsoever. He also destroyed planet Vegeta, and not because of the Saiyan revolt, but purely to eliminate his competition after having that vision about the legendary warrior. He didn't think twice about killing. We've gone from that to him actually sparing his opponents, wanting to fight different beings at their strongest, holding back so he doesn't kill...he's not nearly the same tyrant we saw when we first met him.
Then he would have a non-evil motive as an antagonist. His motive is clearly evil at the start of DBS, after from TOP and beyond, he's more of a nominal type of anti-hero where he's just have mutual interests with the hero, resulting him being an ally and in the same side to the heroes. He's still amoral and evil motive-wise.
Frieza has always been one of my favorite characters of all time. He has immaculate vocabulary, is cunning and calculating, and is inherently powerful and regal. Personally, I think it'd be super fucking cool to have Vegeta be the new God of Destruction, and therefore be able to perpetually be able to keep Frieza in check, which is a WAY bigger win than just outright killing him. Now FRIEZA will have to listen to VEGETA, who deserves that win. The irony would be PERFECT, and we all know that Vegeta is actually the true King of the Sayians. What's cool about Frieza is that he is learning. he knows now not to just come at the Sayians outright, and is plotting and prepping in the background. I hope the Syian's tails come back
We already know Frieza's goal is to overtake Zeno and the Angels. Petty squabbles are now beneath him. We learned of this objective during the ToP. It's quite clear that he's no longer going to be playing a major antagonist role until some late stage of the story.

Frieza may not be overly fond of them ruling over him (then again who should be? They're mostly terrible at their jobs) but he doesn't want to overtake them. He said himself he has no interest in godhood or immortality because of his experience in Hell. His goal also isn't to kill Goku and Vegeta because he could've done so but chose not to. I think his only goal at this point is not to end up back in Hell which means he has to change as a person. Think about it, by staying mortal he knows he will die someday and he's determined to avoid Hell. So what else does this leave for him?
To this day I still wish they gave Black Frieza armor that sort of referenced cooler, but just gave him a more imposing kind of look and not just another recolor for him. Nothing against it.
Yeah, that would've been sick. I'm still holding out hope that Frieza only showed a partial transformation and the full black form actually is like Cooler's 5th form, but its unlikely.
They moved away from power being related to biology or being physical. It's all different kinds of energy/ki now. Makes sense his transformation would just be color. Besides, he outranked Cooler forever ago.
Frieza is at his best right now. Physically and emotionally. He's more merciful than ever as well. If Beerus ever steps down at his job, Frieza would be a great God of Destruction. He only wants from mortals is subservience anyway so if you show respect he'll spare you. I think he's better than Beerus because he doesn't destroy planets if he doesn't like their food offerings.
Merciful because he left Goku and Vegeta alive one time? We don't know why he did it yet, but there's NO REASON to believe it was out of the goodness of his heart.
I feel like the main motivation for Frieza being a villain was the fear of death. Fear that someone would rise up and put an end to his "reign" (that's what the whole "legendary" super saiyan thing was about). But now that Frieza has died and came back at least twice, he no longer fears death as he knows there's ways around it. Now, without the fear motivating him, his decisions are less influenced by negative external factors and he's more free to be who he wants to be/do what he wants to do based on his whims. And that's something that can easily evolve over time. Being less "stuck" in his ways makes him more flexible and malleable which could easily lend to becoming less of a villain and more character growth.

Also, if you're building up to a finale to the manga, what villain would fit more than Frieza for the last arc?
10/10 video. Been searching for a video like this for ages about Frieza. And yeah, I agree with you, Frieza's character development in Super was one of my fav aspects of it, he's still pure evil, but much more refined, calculating and scheming, which is much more dangerous. Also, I do think that Frieza should remain a permanent fixture in DB in some way or another, and him becoming the next GoD would solve a lot of issues, since it's been a plot point since the beginning of Super (finding the next GoD), and it would also guarantee Frieza stays on. It would also be absolutely hilarious seeing Goku and Vegeta interact and working with Frieza as their GoD on a regular basis.
In the tournament of power, he said something in his mind about “controlling the gods.” Maybe he has a bigger plan and will need the saiyans because they are mortals as well.
Maybe they'll finally flush out the planet Sadala Arch, and Frieza will convince Goku and Vegeta this war between mortals and gods has to happen for the good of the universe and to show them they're not play things for their entertainment like the tournament of power.
I think yeah, eventually he wants to beat Beerus. Aside from Goku and Trunks, Beerus is the only other person who has shown him MAD disrespect (and for much longer too) he is probably keeping Goku around as a sort-of frenemy training partner, to eventually (he hopes) reach a point where he can make Beerus his bitch.

Frieza’s character development reminds me of glados from portal 2 or evil Morty from Rick and Morty. I think he spared them because it’s not worth it. He’d win the battle but inevitably lose the war like he always does. And even if he did kill Goku and all the saiyans, what does that gain him? One measly planet. It’s not like they’re actively trying to stop his plans unless he goes for earth or Namek. Frieza’s main goal is galactic conquest he can do that much easier by just giving up on Earth and Namek. Honestly I think he already had this attitude in the Broly movie. The problem was that Paragas essentially gave Frieza a kill Goku button and he was like well if it’s there I might as well press it.
the other thing too is it was mentioned that the last arc which is the next arc is called the black frieza arc so thats why people are saying frieza is the final villain
I seriously have no idea how they're going to catchup this far, if his rate of growth is linear there's actually no way. Am I the only one that looks at Frieza Now as like the Aizen of dragon ball post rof? Like even if he wasn’t on screen he stole the energy of the screen and now the whole black Frieza thing. I don’t know… Frieza just has felt so different in that second resurrection. So calculated, like he went from that person who would stand on the sideline to him standing on business even if it’s a background entity. Like the entire Granolah arc, I haven’t felt that tense reading his name since namek.
I think as long as Freiza's role isn't tested, he'll be perfectly fine with them existing. It's the same reason why he didn't mind having Vegeta, Napa and Raditz working beneath him for 20+ years, despite him taking out the entire race because those Saiyans were the ones who could have tested his position in the universe
I do have to agree, I think Frieza WON'T be a villain. Just flexing his strength, to rule everything. He won't SAVE people, unless it's to showcase his skills. Possibly even STEALING kills from them, cause that would be so frieza. Goku and Vegeta about to beat a villain, only for him to pop in and kill them instantly. Maybe even SHOCK the group by stealing the Dragon Balls again, and making a wish after beating them again. That wish?.... To REVIVE the saiyan race. Since THAT would be the one thing they wouldn't expect. "I don't fear you puny monkeys, so you can have your race back. I could easily kill them again in an instant. So DON'T stop me or my empire from expanding, or I won't show you mercy"
Ngl, in any other scenario, resurrecting the Saiyans would be such a crap move, but if Freeza actually beat Goku and Vegeta to get the dragon balls and then did this as a flex that would do pretty hard. Would be a good reminder to Goku and Vegeta that there's nothing stopping people weaker than them from getting stronger and surpassing them, but is actually pretty in-character for current Freeza. He's already going toe to toe with what he originally feared the Saiyans for, and ressurecting the Saiyans kind of helps with the stalemate situation he's in.
Imagine Frieza using the Super Dragon Balls to bring back ALL of his victims. It's the ultimate redemption and now he avoids the fate he fears most which is ending up back in Hell.
1. I agree, he definitely didn’t do it out of any want to save the anybody or anything, and intent matters very much when we’re having a conversation like this 2. Also agree, dragon ball was a comedic manga before it was a super battle heavy one, and those elements have been present through the entire show
I feel like we've been seeing Frieza soften up a little bit, I think I agree. I think he'll still be a rival, I think he'll continue to fuck with the Saiyans, but I don't think he's going to keep being the same villain we've seen in z and early super
I love how disrespectful freezer is his love for the game is immeasurable, bro for real had to come back just to flex on them and show them how little an insignificant they are not even a blip on his radar. He’s in his own lane chasing the bag.
I feel like they are trying to make Goku more like Luffy after seeing the success of OP, being the fact that typically after Luffy fights a villain he manages to win them over a few chapters later after seeing his resolve or whatever, and this is gonna happen with ppl like Freiza and later down the line Uub. This would be pretty cool and could progress the story into the next big bad
I bet he will be the replacement for Beerus as the new God of Destruction. It's not evil, it's balance, and Freiza has learned this path slowly over his time in the series
At this point it’s like a same dynamic as between Batman and Joker. Without Batman, the Joker loses his purpose and who he is. Same with Frieza. Goku gives him purpose.
Frieza development is the best part of super, it somehow manage to turn him into a main character without removing his most important trait that is being super evil
In what world is he a black man? He’s more like an English, rich trust fund baby who is ruling the world through his parents’ businesses that they gave to him
Just started the video not watched it yet but I agree already. Its so obvious, Frieza was cooperative end of tournament of power, he spared Goku and Vegeta, and his interaction inviting forgot names to be apart of his crew, he smiled and seemed mellowed out. He trained in a hyperbolic esque time chamber. he's not concerned about goku anymore I think he's got his sight on the gods of destruction instead.
I have always thought that Frieza trained for this long specifically to kill Beerus and take his place. He’s the only one above him and the only one to threaten his reign as emperor of the universe. He’s already so far above Goku and Vegeta it wouldn’t make sense if that was just his goal.
Maybe there will be another transformation of Goku and Vegeta? but at that point the situation will start to become sarcastic given the number of transformations or will we see the fateful Vegeth in TUI plus ultra ego form?
@Profitin The animations as good as the Broly movie/ we get full explanations, even a book and where not even that far in. They explained more than super did in its whole run in 4 episodes. The chorography is methodical and reminds me of the 90's when they took their time.
You could say he's flexing, and he is, but I really think Frieza sparing Goku and Vegeta is more than just being smug and asserting his dominance. He knows what those two are about. He knows damn well he just motivated them to exceed him in strength. The two saiyans are the closest things Frieza has to friends and I think there is a timeline where this concept evolves
Friezas character development is somewhat similar to piccolos In piccolo's case gohan served as a catalyst In frieza's case it may be the saiyans or maybe something to give a final push
The only way forward I imagine for Freeza as an antagonist is usurping the Gods of Destruction themselves, but the problem is that's a bit too similar to what Zamasu did
I don't really like the idea of Frieza not being a villain. I'd prefer if he remains the antagonist and maybe even ends up being the ultimate big bad of all of Dragon Ball
I feel like Frieza will eventually become the antagonist again, but only as the final main antagonist or second to last main antagonist with him since both Goku & Vegeta have to settle score with Freiza and vice versa. It'll likely end up with him being the final antagonist before Beerus. With 10 ten year strong Frieza, there's plenty of arcs that be put between these two before the beef between the saiyans and their evil rival can be put to rest
Honestly I see Freiza just being a chaotic character from now on. If Goku and Vegeta leave to go adventure the universes, I can see Freiza following so he can fight and maybe conquer more. He definitely has a thirst for conquest still and now enjoys it like a game rather than just business thanks to Goku and Vegeta. He doesn’t want to kill them, but still definitely enjoys pushing buttons and implementing risks. He’ll want to conquest so he can keep playing the game as he likes to. This can also be a potential segway into Cooler, who could in super canon have been training in other universes after losing to Freiza when they were younger and thus unlocking his fifth form. Freiza could be nice segway into other things and serve all kinds of purposes now.
I do have a theory on what B;ack Frieza means for a potential new transformation. I have an idea that it might be a new way to force combine super saiyan with ultra instinct. I think thsis because of previous landmarks involving Frieza that caused this sort of growth. Super Saiyan came out of base Frieza, Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan came out of Golden Frieza, and idk maybe a Ultra Instinct Super Saiyan might come out of Black Frieza.

Killing them was pointless, Frieza knew Whis would just revive them since they are buddy buddy with him and Frieza himself was revived by Whis. I think his goal is to find a way to get rid of the Gods so he can do what he wants, after 10 years he got over his need to kill Goku and Vegeta, he just wants ti be the strongest which he is now but as long as there are the gods he knows he will never truly be free
@ no lol none of what you said is gonna happen or makes sense kill the saiyans would not be pointless cause that would remove the ones that truly stand in your way
@ZayDeyknow whis would just revive them a second later they were killed like he did with monaito, frieza knows it since he too was revived by whis, that's why killing them was pointless, have you even read all of my comment or just the first sentence?
I’m calling it…Freeza is going to be a good guy. Seems crazy, but…Vegeta was a planet destroying evil person at one point. As a kid, a major point of debate was whether Vegeta would stay good. I’d imagine kids like 10 years older asked the same of Piccolo. Freeza is going to be a good guy in order to reach Goku’s level, and in that process, Goku will teach him the power of good.
I just can’t see Frieza becoming a full-on good guy with a redemption like Vegeta had If hes not a full-on villain, I can see him being more neutral, not an enemy but not an ally. He’s proven himself to be stronger than Goku and Vegeta, and that’s enough for him
I think frieza has learned to swallow his pride for his goals think about this. He was afraid of saiyans so he killed them when he could have just trained but it would have left bad impression on his army. Like he got forced to train himself by this weak race but after his fight with Goku on namek. Goku become ssj and defeating frieza made him a threat in every one eyes which gave frieza reason to train without hurting his ego.
If Black Freeza isn’t substantially stronger than Beerus, this entire thing will be pointless. I’m sorry; but you don’t train for 3 months as Freiza then catch up to the main cast like he did, then proceed to train Time Chamber 10 something years and one shot UI and UE with 0 difficulty.
THANK YOU, someone finally talks about how much frieza has changed. his dialogue in the broly movie was such blatant confirmation of this. the fact that he was getting excited about making broly his enemy and saying that he's counting on broly becoming the most powerful warrior once broly trains his mind is so completely different from how he was in namek. hell, he even smiled when he was seemingly about to die against broly in the movie right before gogeta intercepted

They're his friends. They're HIS! DON'T TOUCH THEM!
Ironically Frieza is becoming more Saiyan like. Training, wanting to see Broly at his strongest, pride, are all saiyan traits.
u play with monkeys and become one of the monkeys
“Saiyan trait” lol, any human or creature can feel like that
I swear some dragon ball fans seem to think pride is only a saiyan trait
@@speedyspeed8178 Frieza detests the idea of training because he viewed it as something only inferior beings like saiyans would need to do. Him training to get stronger to fight Goku is him growing as a character and doing something he once viewed as a lesser practice. So yes he's becoming more saiyan like in that regard.
and on top of that, he has now also become a monkey
@@bloody4558idk what reaction ur talking about? Beerus at least to my knowledge never even acknowledged black friezas existence. The only comparison between their power we get is from vjump where they state that black frieza is "close" to the level of a destroyer. Which, going by their logic would mean black frieza is weaker than vegito blue who was directly stated by vjump to be as strong as beerus in the manga. So ya...
@SaucemanK Read the chapter again, Beerus instantly reacts to Black Freeza, and soon after there's a line of dialogue sailing that maybe Is the time to start considering who next God of Destruction will be.

Every villain who lives long enough does. Tien, Piccolo, Vegeta, now Frieza. First you want to do something evil and Goku is just in your way. Then you want revenge on Goku. No? When have we seen Frieza start to become friendlier?
I don't know why nowadays people keep saying the word anti-hero casually, but Frieza is never an anti-hero in DBS. He is anti-villain
Very wise my friend, but many people have been caught on to the phrase anti villain yet. It's just not popular enough for people to recognize and use.
Nice
Then he would have a non-evil motive as an antagonist. His motive is clearly evil at the start of DBS, after from TOP and beyond, he's more of a nominal type of anti-hero where he's just have mutual interests with the hero, resulting him being an ally and in the same side to the heroes. He's still amoral and evil motive-wise.
@@k-popk-dramaj-anime7777 no he isnt. An anti villain uses questionable methods to obtain righteous goals.

I hope the Syian's tails come back
Facts 💯
We already know Frieza's goal is to overtake Zeno and the Angels. Petty squabbles are now beneath him. We learned of this objective during the ToP. It's quite clear that he's no longer going to be playing a major antagonist role until some late stage of the story.

Narratively the angels are above everything else and they don't even care, Merus was deleted for being too involved

@@LordExor Goku effect
@gimsin2656 The only effect Goku has on Frieza is a negative one for everyone else. He's basically enabling a psychopath to get stronger.
Freeza might have saved one universe during the tournament but he was actually partially responsible for the destruction of seven other universes.

In TOP Whis heavily insinuates to Beerus that if given a Super Shenron wish, Frieza would most likely wish to become the most powerful God.
@@shirohebie To be honest it's hard to take the idea of something surpassing the gods as something serious because I'm tired of charactes in DBS having hints of being stronger than the gods of destruction and then the next arc berus revealed that he's still the strongest character. so I'm not sure how Firza would suddenly surpass berus and I'm suppose to believe that it's not going to be retcon as berus is still stronger overall
@@eduardopantoja9115 I'm not saying that I believe he WILL surpass Beerus, just that he hopes to. Beerus is a moving goal-post. Only way for Frieza to realistically surpass him is by Super Shenron wish.
So Frieza has become the Dr. Eggman of the series, essentially.
EDIT: 9:00 - Well that'll serve me right for commenting before finishing the video.

Friezas end spot is likely going to be god of destruction frieza which would likely be a movie ending with vegeta taking him out
I feel like they are trying to make Goku more like Luffy after seeing the success of OP, being the fact that typically after Luffy fights a villain he manages to win them over a few chapters later after seeing his resolve or whatever, and this is gonna happen with ppl like Freiza and later down the line Uub. This would be pretty cool and could progress the story into the next big bad
I also see it as Frieza mocking Goku when he spares him, as Goku done the same back in namek.
The fact that Frieza never saw Vegeta's new transformation before and wasn't bothered by it showed he knew he had outclassed the Saiyans. 😅
I bet he will be the replacement for Beerus as the new God of Destruction. It's not evil, it's balance, and Freiza has learned this path slowly over his time in the series
frieza knows he finna get his ass beat again so he ran the fade and dipped

He trained in a hyperbolic esque time chamber.
he's not concerned about goku anymore I think he's got his sight on the gods of destruction instead.
He was indeed in fhe chamber during the Granolah arc, as he needs to be in the chamber to be excluded from the "strongest in the universe" wish.
Frieza was goated in the tournament on reflection
Frieza is more of a joker type main antagonist . Rather than a villain of a arc he will always be there
ALSO... just exactly _how many_ of Goku's friends and allies at one point seriously fought with Goku to _kill_ him as their own goals.
I have always thought that Frieza trained for this long specifically to kill Beerus and take his place. He’s the only one above him and the only one to threaten his reign as emperor of the universe. He’s already so far above Goku and Vegeta it wouldn’t make sense if that was just his goal.
He wants to surpass The Omni King, Lord Zeno, Emperor and King of The Multiverse and take his place
Maybe there will be another transformation of Goku and Vegeta? but at that point the situation will start to become sarcastic given the number of transformations

Friezas character development is somewhat similar to piccolos
In piccolo's case gohan served as a catalyst
In frieza's case it may be the saiyans or maybe something to give a final push
So basically Frieza has transcended the good guy vs bad guy dichotomy.
Yup
Jiren was never the Villan. All he wanted was his universe to live.
Honestly, I fully expect Frieza to get a redemption arc at some point.

Is frieza really a villain anymore we can say he’s saved our universe and he let goku and vegeta live if he was the old frieza he’d kill them with no regard
Killing them was pointless, Frieza knew Whis would just revive them since they are buddy buddy with him and Frieza himself was revived by Whis.
Frieza, unlike Vegeta, is ACTUALLY Pure Evil, raw, pure evil
Him being good? I doubt... At the very least he might be anti villain or anti hero kind of role, but being good I don't really see it
I just can’t see Frieza becoming a full-on good guy with a redemption like Vegeta had
If hes not a full-on villain, I can see him being more neutral, not an enemy but not an ally. He’s proven himself to be stronger than Goku and Vegeta, and that’s enough for him
I think frieza has learned to swallow his pride for his goals think about this.

I can see him challenging beerus for god of destruction role
I wish Black Frieda had actual differences in his design instead of just a recolor
Since they don't have to change the mold for the toys, Banday and Toei will make even more money
Also the perfect asspull moment to have a whole "I heard my brother got stronger" and introduce someone else

where did you get the clip from 0:57
If Black Freeza isn’t substantially stronger than Beerus, this entire thing will be pointless.
I think frieza is gonna be a anti-villain
TFs an antivillain😂
@kamdeoray3573 Someone who doesn't directly oppose the protagonist but still does things that seem villain-ish; like slavery, murder, conquering, etc.
@@kamdeoray3573 Maybe use Google, or some other search engine. I don't understand why people say this. LOOK IT UP.
@@kamdeoray3573 An antihero is a hero who is capable of morally questionable things. An anti villain is an evil person who is capable of doing some morally sound things.
Well said. Deadpool is an anti-hero. Who blow away the bad guy in a second. Something Batman or Superman heroes wouldn't.
My best example of a antihero is negan from walking dead. He'll smashing grown upside with a baseball bat, but he has rules like he never hurt a kid. And PROTECT women from ....dangerous situations I'll say.
Something that your typical villain like, let's say the joker or evil boo would not do
Imagine if Freeza becomes the next God of Destruction and Beerus retires or something.
They feel like friends at this point
Just like _nearly_ EVERY other person who tried to kill Goku.
Another Day, Another Peak Upload 🐐
Plot reveal: Frieza becomes the next beerus with Goku as his attendant, Vegeta develops insight & becomes the oracle fish
I like this is idea I just can't see Vageta letting Freeza make it. If they don't do "something" with that conflict I'd be disappointed.
Mom the youtube guy said I don't understand freiza again
Idk, this would mean ignoring a plot point that's been developing since the start of super, Frieza will certainly still be a villian
Brolly beat Frieza for 1 hour 30 minutes not 30 minutes since Goku and Vegeta fail 2 times in fusion. 30 minutes wait to defuse and fuse each. Great video nonetheless
well he did say "30 min+" 5:28
Peak video bro!
Frieza went from the most despicable villain of the series, to the "oh, you" meme
good video, love your input just please lower the sound effect volumes to match the volume of your voice
HOLY SHIT G.O.D. FREZIA ACTUALLY FITS HIS CHARACTER SO MUCH AND POSES SUCH A UNIQUE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HIM AND THE THE TWO MCS
An awesome video! I agree with you 💯. I think Frieza might be offered a universe to be a god of destruction over.
