So helpful after purchasing a 2012 ML350 BluTec Diesel. Thank you!
I appreciate your thoroughness and cleanliness in the demonstration. It shows quality.
Great video...finally one that matches my 2014 ML350 BlueTEC. Thank you!
This model is easy to change the oil by buying a $30 vacuum extractor which inserts straight into the oil dipstick hole. Saves jacking the vehicle to get underneath and no chance of a leak from the oil drain plug because it stays in place. For such a small investment I change my oil much more regularly as a result, every 5K miles instead of 12-18K miles so it should be good for 1M miles if I ever get that far :). Mercedes dealerships BTW always change the oil through the dipstick tube because it is quicker.
Interesting. Thanks.
Sounds convenient but I like to think that any foreign objects and sludge would be drained better through the sump plug. Good time for inspection too
@@SavedbyHim i agree
Excellent demonstration of the service
FANTASTIC! Thank you. Will save about $600 on labor at the local dealership...
Very nice video. No one has publicized one like this one. Thank you.
Very detailed & great video for this model. Excellent work!
What a great Video. Really helped me a lot doing a service on my E350 Blutec. Keep up the great work. Mick. Northern Ireland.
+Michael Kane Glad it helped you sir.
One last tip after doing mine and losing the back screw: There are 2 screws on the firewall panel (with the soft material). pull back the thick rubber hood insulation at the back starting from the airbox you removed where you did the cabin filters, just to the centre, and remove the 2 screws and panel from the firewall - then you will notice a high aluminum colored (4" tall) screw with a male torx head that is meant to screw down inside a circular plastic flange on the new engine air filter (a screw which is also on the drivers side but on mine not connected to any flange there on the air filter), in addition to the 2 short black screws you are dealing with. Then you will have ample room to get in there and seat the filter on the passenger side properly, and retightening the tall torx screw. Also a tip - those dark orange looking centre seals should be wet with plain water on each sealing side before connecting - as you don't want to wrinkle or crimp them when reassembling this tight fit.
Very nice video!! Same as my ML350 2014 and now I can save the big money for mechanic. Thank you very helpful 😁
You know what you are doing . Cool video. show more about this car . thanks
Thank you very much for your video. Was able to change cabin and engine filters without any issues.
No problem. There is also a video on my channel for the same Mercedes on how to change both batteries.
That was an excellent video... thank you very much.
Thanks for the clean video and details
Thanks for the great video!
Brilliant ! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you !!
Really great, CLEAR video on exactly how to change the bastard air filters.
Many, many thanks !
Glad it helped!
Great Vid. Changed my oil and air filters in my GL350 diesel. Those screws on the air filter housings at the back near the firewall are a supreme pain - time to buy a magnet tool! Next time I will silicone the screw to my finger just to position it properly first - barely enough room - and this is with a wood shelf across the engine bay supported by the rubber seals so I can kneel on it and get back there - I'm sure the dealer probably has a way to disassemble the cowling for the cabin filter such that you can access those screws properly without such trouble. I've heard some people leave the top engine cover off to aid in cooling the engine.
removal of bottom cover definitely helps lower engine temps in the warm months. Top cover removal is less helpful because it has a vent connection to the grill to bring in outside air when the vehicle is moving
Awesome video tutorial!
I love this video!thank you!
Bra jobbat!
Nice video! Very clear!
Very helpful video! Many thanks!
Great video! Thanks so much, helped a lot.
Thank you. This is a helpful video
Very helpful, thank you! Dealer quoted over $1300 for B3 service so I'm doing the oil & air filters myself for the first time. Only difference is I am using better (& MB approved) Amsoil oil & installing an EZ Oil Valve instead of putting the drain plug back in order to make it easier to change the next time. I did still pay my dealer over $500 to change brake fluid & fuel filter 😣 But they did top off all fluids & reset the maintenance minders for me. I'm going to watch a video of changing cabin air filters from inside the cab by removing glove box before I decide which way to do them.
Hows the reliability on these ?
fantastic . pro work
Superb !
Learned a couple good minor tricks - catching droplets prior to replacing drain plug and reserving a half litre of oil. Should be very useful for my GL diesel as well. The Russians get the job done with typical outside the box ingenuity !
thank you for the video very nice
very helpful videos thank you very much
Try holding the oil bottle the other way. A lot easier to pour the oil out. Great video. Thanks 👍
Perfect. Thanks.
Fantastic clip thank you
Very nice and detail video.
Don't forget to make a reset of average air intake volume adaption using Star Diagnosis ( in german: Mengen-Mittelwert-Adaptionsdaten ). This is required to be done after each air filter change.
How is this reset done? could you please tell?
Yeah. I learned this the hard way. Car drove rough after air filter change and threw MAF and boost codes. Resetting is very useful.
@@winzyde1901 You reset it with your scanner... but you need Xentry DAS (or SDS) or any other scanner that has the reset option.
The cpu should in any case recognize new airflow value due to the air replacement adapting better fuel efficiency parameters . Just need some km..
You don’t need to unscrew torx screw of 25 prior to Cabin filter replacement.Undo of those metal clips is enough.
very helpful, thanks
don't forget to reset the service alert....
Good job!
Nice video. Thnx
Good Job. 👍🏻
Thanks, mate. Lots of money saved for a mechanic! Very good material.
Cheers!
i havent read all the comments but - i recommend buying a mityvac vacuum pump for $60-80 (or equivalent from Harbor Freight). So you dont have to drain from underneath the car. It will save you at least 15 minutes - and you can use it on other cars as well. It really helps especially in the winter.
Or just buy a electric $40 pump from Amazon, works even better.
Nice, keep up the good work. Will. Texas.

How do you reset the service alert? Is a special computer software required?
thank you ..
Amazing instructions sir. I'm hoping you will teach how to change the brakes

How much of the DEF fluid did you add?
Do you later get a Oil Filter Wrench? Just want to check what size of the wrench will be? Thanks.
What the filter number for the 2 smaller cabin filters on a Blue Tech 2014
Thank you so much for the video. Can I please ask if you know where the Intake Air Temperature sensor is? I have a fault code but I cannot find the location of the sensor.
Excellent demonstration. Thanks. Do you know where the intake air temperature sensor (IAT) is located by chance ? Is it part of the MAF ?
Hi what is the torque spec for the oil drain bolt? Thank you for your great video!
Hi guys please i need help. Is the EXHAUST GAS TEMP SENSOR 1 BANK 1 located on the top left of the engine in 2012 ml250 blue tech?
Thank you for taking the time to do this video... well done and very helpful. Do you have a video on the fuel filter change?
where do you buy all the filters from
How often we need to change the oil and filter?
NICE ty
Great to see how to do it. You used the wrong oil.
It should only be Mercedes Benz Approval 229.51 - Very important, There's a big difference.
Not anymore. 229.52 is now recommended, although 229.51 also works. I use Mobil 1 0W30 ESP which is 229.52 rated. That's what my local dealership told me. Hope this helps.
How has this car been? You had to change the sway bar bushings yet?
My local autoshop charges me $80 Canadian dollars to change oil and filter. Is it a good deal or should I do it myself?
What kind of oil consumption do you experience if any?
«Ой» выдало!😁👍так сделали бы и на русском😁😁😁 Тогда и обьяснить можно было бы по ходу что и как😊😊😊 А то как в известной комедии: -«Горчички?»
-«Угу!»😁😁😁
Но в любом случае спасибо за видео и за труд! Очень помогло😊👍 Отдельная благодарность маленькому помошнику😁👍
Do you have a video how to change fuel filter?
How many. MPG
They had to make the air filter as hard to do as possible..unlike my old 1978 Mercedes 300D with the simple round filter on top! Has this suv been reliable? I'm looking to buy a 2012 ML 350 Bluetec 100K miles...
Great video ...Im from winnipeg and have a 2011 Bluetec ....we should meet for coffee
Contact me through email at volvoswedenbuisness@gmail.com
why is the oil dark from the dip stick oil check if you filled 8qrts of clear oil?
I have the same vehicle and I also noticed this when I finish the oil changing, I don't know why, the oil on the bottom of stick is dark, and the upper of the ruler is clear......
Thanks for the great detailed video. Will you please make a video on how to reset the computer maintenance schedule reminded. Thanks.
Wi try.
Top Video Grüße aus Deutschland....
Same engine as the sprinter?
Hi, I am looking at a 2014 BlueTec but don’t know about the performance, maintenance and reliability comparison to the regular gasoline. What is your experience with your BlueTec? Thanks.
Thai Vuong I got the same one, pain on the ass, don’t buy It, It’s just complicated DEF and everything else, get gasoline.
Is your friend still owning the MB? How is his experience / reliability ?
it's nice video. However, would you please tell me where power steering fluid locates on MB ML350 2012?
Right beside the sludge pump
great video.... is there not a computer reset from the driver DIC??
+Rick Dangerous Not sure
what kind of ramp set you are using?
Don't know the name. They are sold at local hardware store.
in my 2013 ML350 W166 BlueTEC owner's manual, it says you should use MB Approval 228.51, 229.31 or 229.51 engine oils, though I've seen some use 229.52 (here u use it as well), so may I buy 229.52 or should I stick with 229.51 shell Helix ultra ect c3 5w30?
+Ana Kakulia I don't know. I just bought what Mercedes recommended.
Not anymore. 229.52 is now recommended, although 229.51 also works. I use Mobil 1 0W30 ESP which is 229.52 rated. That's what my local dealership told me. Hope this helps.
Excellent video.
Could you upload fuel filter change on this model
I will check. I will upload soon on how to replace both batteries.
💞💞👍
Where I can buy air filter with a good price in California San Diego
Great video!! How do you know how much DEF to put in?
Untill its full at the neck.
Will it be same procedure for GL 350 2011 DIESEL ENGINE to perform Engine Air Filter change ?
I am not sure.
Yes
Are u gangsters no we are russians.
Don't forget to make a reset of average air intake volume adaption using Star Diagnosis ( in german: Mengen-Mittelwert-Adaptionsdaten ). This is required to be done after each motor air filter change. if you do not do this reset you will have high diesel consumption
