I like the small size of the 206, but I'm afraid I won't be able to fit in one easily (I'm about 6 feet tall) so it's the 307 for me or the 406, maybe.
@@damilolaakanni I'm 181cm tall, so pretty close to 6 feet right? And I don't have any problems driving a 206. The seat is quite comfortable for a small car. However there is almost no room left for the rear passenger and I don't care lol
That Takata... my BMW E39 was recalled for the same reason (but driver airbag), the Gf made fun of me for it (get a Mercedes next time!) and just a few months later her A Class was also recalled for the airbag. I guess who laughs last...
This Mazda boot strut thing happened to a Mazda I had from 2013. Bloody thing wouldn’t stay open. Also had the Honda Jazz airbag issue which was also fantastic. I’m very lucky with recalls
Car manufacturers don't have to recall. They get their actuaries and lawyers to work out how much it costs to fix something vs the legality of the fault, damages, fines, reputational damage and other liabilities of not fixing it.
Need to make a list about when manufacturers refused to recall like what Peugeot did with that same 206, when it was discovered that engines weren’t turning off with the ignition, resulting in overheating & catching fire
1:22 - I believe the reason why it’s a legal requirement for indicators to flash quicker when a bulb has gone is so that once a driver notices that their indicator is flashing quicker than it should, they will realise that their bulb has gone out and, depending on where it was blown, was misleading other traffic into thinking it was going to go straight on but was actually going to turn either left or right until the blown bulb was replaced by a new bulb.
A month ago, we replaced our 2006 Toyota Corolla Verso, and we realised we were unable to sell it due to it having an outstanding recall. And ... surprise surprise ... it was an airbag defect!! But sure enough, we had it repaired in no time and sold it on. (And btw we got a 2017 VW Passat as a replacement!)
I work at Mazda here in Germany, we also had Airbag recalls. This included the Mazda 2 (DE), Mazda 3 (BK and BL), Mazda 5, Mazda 6 (GH) and a few CX-7s for the very same reason as Honda, Toyota and Lexus. Most of them were Passenger Airbags.
I own a Mercedes C180 and it was also recalled because of the passenger airbag. Almost every car built in Brazil until the airbag scandal had Takata airbags.
Here in South Africa, between 2015 & 2017, a lot of brand new Ford KUGA's caught on fire, BRAND NEW!!! Apparently it was a cable under the bonnet that got very hot and caught fire, fortunately only one person lost his life because of it, they also had to RECALL a lot of KUGA's

2009 Mazda 3 in New Zealand booked in early next month, to replace the whole drivers seat because of the height adjuster mechanism may crack. Which could result in the seat exhibiting an abnormal noise or potentially the seat may move out of position while driving. It only just passed the last wof because of the height adjustment in the seat currently has excessive movement!.
im not surprised...mazda is singularly the crappiest import in nz where underbody rust is just horrible! I have never seen any other manufacturer have a poor underbody protection system.

When one indicator lamp blows the resistance in the circuit changes and the relay behaves differently because it ‘sees’ more resistance.

*"Karens"*
2009 Mazda 3 in New Zealand booked in early next month, to replace the whole drivers seat because of the height adjuster mechanism may crack. Which could result in the seat exhibiting an abnormal noise or potentially the seat may move out of position while driving.
It only just passed the last wof because of the height adjustment in the seat currently has excessive movement!.
im not surprised...mazda is singularly the crappiest import in nz where underbody rust is just horrible! I have never seen any other manufacturer have a poor underbody protection system.
All 1.2 Puretech Peugeot engines timing belt crumbles and clogs into the oil at around 64k miles... Peugeot decided to put the timing belt in the oil so it crumbles and clogs the pump... Brilliant
They missed the RX8 when the front main airbag would either not work in crash or go off randomly 😂
Basically a few of those massive recalls were caused by Takata.
