how did you find all of these.???? amazing.....
We would never forget Mimsie. Mimsie is the greatest kitty! Always loves her meows!
Mimsie was owned by one of Mary Tyler Moore’s colleagues.
She was definitely a cute little kitty
2:53....my favorite variation! That, and the "Quack!" 😁
2:54 Not QUACK/Yes QUIET
I always loved that little Cat. God Bless everyone
Mimsie the Cat (1968 - c. June 1988) was a live-action tabby cat seen in the MTM Enterprises logo, in an apparent spoof of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's famed lion mascot, Leo.
In the standard version of the logo, as first used on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Mimsie appears in a crouched position, looks up at the camera, and meows once. Mimsie would not meow for the camera crew, so they eventually used footage of her yawning, run in reverse, with the sound effect added. By the 1980s, there were many different variants of the logo, with Mimsie often appearing in different painted "costumes" corresponding to the style and theme of the particular programs. For the detective series Remington Steele, a Sherlock Holmes-esque stalking cap and pipe (that fell out of Mimsie's mouth when she meowed) were added; Bay City Blues had an animated version of Mimsie wearing a baseball hat and baseball glove and catching a baseball; Lou Grant, Paris, and Just Between Friends showed a still image of Mimsie's footage; The White Shadow featured a different black-and-white cat bouncing an orange basketball; Hill Street Blues painted a police uniform hat onto Mimsie's head; St. Elsewhere used a surgical mask and scrubs; The Texas Wheelers had a full-screen black-and white kitten looking around and meowing and (for the final episode) had an animated version of the kitten staggering from behind a wagon wheel and dropping dead; Graham Kerr painted a chef's hat onto Mimsie's head; Carlton Your Doorman the logo is drawn animation-like and Carlton's cat Ringo is seen and says to him to meow but doesn't meow, Carlton mutters "Damn cat..."; Xuxa had Mimsie say "Tchau!" (which means "goodbye" in Portuguese); A Little Sex featured an animated gray cat joining an animated version of Mimsie after she meowed; in contrast, Newhart kept the original, unadorned footage, but replaced (except for the series pilot) the meowing sound effect with Bob Newhart's voice-over of "meow" in his trademark deadpan style, and in the series finale is saying "QUIET!", uttered by Darryl & Darryl (their first and only word). The Duck Factory had (right before the logo) an off-screen voice shout, "Where's the Cat?", and then used the original footage, replacing Mimsie's meow with a "Quack!". On The Mary Tyler Moore Show episode, "Today I am a Ma'am", Mimsie did a higher-pitched meow, and on the episode "Put on a Happy Face", Moore herself was shown stating the Looney Tunes end line, "That's All Folks!". In the series finale of St. Elsewhere, Mimsie is shown unconscious and dying on-screen, hooked up to an IV, a heart monitor and medical equipment; as the credits roll the heart monitor beeps and then flatlines at the end, marking the end of ‘’St. Elsewhere’’ and Mimsie’s death. Coincidentally, Mimsie died shortly after the airing of the episode. Syndicated prints of this episode replace this variant with the normal credits. An extended version of The White Shadow variant can be shown on rare prints of the pilot, featuring the logo animating and the cat watching the ball fall off-screen.
In 2013, an episode of Hot in Cleveland, which starred Betty White and featured Georgia Engel, did an MTM reunion with Moore, Valerie Harper, and Cloris Leachman. At the end of the episode the camera pans to a cat in the window, presumably Mimsie, giving her final meow.

Thank you for telling us about mimsey. Very interesting.
That was awesome. Thanks for sharing.
3:17 - 3:25 is probably my favorite one of these logos because this is what I'd do if I see this logo in a video; I'd keep watching it over and over. Thank you Mimsie for being a great cat!
R.I.P. Edward Asner. He will be missed.
Mary always had a drawing of a lion in her apartment (on the TV shows anyway). Its all a bit like a reference to MGM and MTM.

I loved the ones that Bob Newhart did his "meow." :-)
RIP Mimsie and Mary Tyler Moore. I also give you props for omitting the St. Elsewhere finale variant, I find that upsetting.

@ who's he?
@@Jacob_was_here, no, she's dead.
@Demetri Little No, that was with capitol records.

I’ve been looking for this cat logo forever! I only remember it occasionally popping onscreen during my early childhood.

Meow meow meow meow the kitten is adorable cute RIP Mary Tyler Moore
In 2:26 Cats Meow is DEEP!
It's So Sad To See MTM Gone :(
@Kai Keebler, that's bullshit.
@Purple Buttons the Changeling but it was still cute though
1:34 made me laugh "come on meow! Damn cat!" Lol and that cat scowled!
The fact that Lorezno Music (aka, the voice of Garfield) said that line made it even more perfect.
1:38 the hill street blues theme makes me cry thinking of mimsie's death
When he said QUIET!
I felt that🐱
2:59
So cute! There was a segment on Hot in Cleveland with all of the women from the Mary Tyler Moore show and at the very end had that cute kitten meow. In the 1980s, MTM Enterprise also had a recording label in Nashville, known as MTM Music Group from 1984 to 1988.

mimsie in the thumbnail looks cute
sleep tight mimsie :(
Thanks for remembering "WKRP in Cincinnati" occasionally using Les Nessman's "Oooh."
Those MTM logos are so Cute!

3:00 when that kid never stop crying
Yeah, make them cry more.
Relatable! I couldn't stop having meltdowns when babies or little kids cry but that doesn't happen anymore.

I didn’t realize I needed this in my life until I found it. Thank you for making it!
God Bless You To Jesus Christ R.I.P Mary Tyler Moore
And Mimsie the cat
MTM also had a short lived record label in the 1980s based in Nashville. There was a good roster of Country Music artists that recorded for MTM Records at the time. 2 artists I can recall were Paul Overstreet and Holly Dunn
I wish MTM Productions would continue after Mary's death
And now all of the shows are owned by Disney
@Demetri Little no it's not.
@Windows 98 no it's not gredey.
@@tconlon251 Funny. The 🐱is now owned by the 🐭.

I agree about that variant not fitting in at this time. It shouldn't be scrubbed from history though, as it has been from the St. Elsewhere finale since its NBC broadcasts.

RIP Mary Tyler Moore. I'm your hero
Aaawww, mimsie was soooo adorable!! Man, the Newhart variant of the MTM logo has stuck with me to this day, as it used to frighten me as a child! Something about a man's voice coming out if the kitty was just creepy & unsettling for me at the time.
HE DIED IN 1988 AND MARY TOO IN 2017!!!!!!!! WHY JESUS WHYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!?????????!!!!!!!!! *cries really loud*

You're skipping the St. Elsewhere finale variant?! Awwww... 😭
I understand, but I like that one. Well, at least you kept the Newhart finale variant (2:58).

Felix Brown Glad to see I’m not the only one who likes the St. Elsewhere finale variant. I’ve been meaning to watch the show. From what I heard the variant is fitting for the show, yes?
@@gothtarrare that's the one I want to see...
@@gothtarrare yes but that was actually mimsie's death...
@Win Server 2008 Mimsie died a few hours after the St. Elsewhere Finale. And they used a sleeping Mimsie and hooked her up to a life support system and water thing for the credits
I just the St. Elsewhere finale and I now understand why you didn't include it. Granted it wasn't meant to be taken seriously but it was upsetting.
2:04 lol. how cute.
Oh wow!!!!!
Mtm stands for:
Mary

I knew that, too.
My favorite mtm logo was with Mimsie the cat playing with t.v. remote control for the t.v. lol
I like the 2 animated kitties purring!
I like the MTM logo when it has Mimsie bouncing a basketball....this was after they rolled the credits from The White Shadow episodes
Good job! Keep up the videos.
i was four after mtm passed away thank you mary
What about this: Also, according to Jacob Dennis-Oehling on RUclips, He describes another version of the finale variant, where it's the other variant except Mimsie is instead shot to death. However, these "mystery" variants could be hard to find, as usual.
she had two cats! wow

Yeah I was dreading to see that last one. That's sad.
Yeah that scared the Frick out of me! It's the only logo im actually scared of!
thebombymaster Xander Pascal I need to know something. WHAT THE FUCK WAS THE NETWORK THINKING? I saw the ending to St. Elsewhere, not knowing that it existed and I saw a cat. I looked on Wikipedia to see if it was that same cat. What I saw horrified me. That ending, that cat in the ending...was Mimsie. I read on Wikipedia that the ending represented the death of the show and Mimsie cause 2 days after the show ended the cat died.
Mimsie:Meow~ Kennadi:Awww!
Xuxa’s closing logo is where mimsie says goodbye in portuguese
