- Jack Green had already been in several bands (Sunshine, The Pretty Things, T.Rex, Rainbow) before releasing this debut solo album in 1980. The album would be the first of 5 solo albums for Jack, and all in the power pop style. This debut features Ritchie Blackmore on lead guitar for I Call, No Answer and had a music video for This is Japan that played on MTV. Jack's 1972 Sunshine album and several Pretty Things songs are available in our videos.

This album was huge in Canada when I was in high school. Spent many nights cruising with this cranked and hearing it at bush parties.
Bush parties. My kind of party bro.😁
Jack green is more significant than most people will ever know!!!
How does someone so significant to rock and history not be available on Spotify
My older neighbor Rick ( also worked out with him ) loved Jacks music and thus introduced me way back in 1981ish and still look for it now often and listen...Guuitar is awesome and overall music is to
olso...takes me back to 16-19 year old life...Love it..Cheers..

Great vocal"s and guitar work on this ..
great rip, thanks!
So good
ANOTHER ONE!!!!Thanx again.
Great album TNX
Great album! If you enjoy his initial solo release, you might want to check out his 2nd album: "Reverse Logic". Very similar sound, outstanding guitar work throughout.
This one and Mystique should cement Jack in the history books.
Asked the hippie in his pot smoke filled record store what he had like Tom Petty. He was Good at picking good stuff out for me. Turned me on to John Cougar with "I need a Lover" on it. It was magic to my ears for some reason. Still sound good after all the years. Then stationed in Japan in the Navy played the song This is Japan a million times. Great memories.
No doubt about it, this guy was ahead of his time! The only thing that really kept him from taking off was Van Halen! End of story!
Sad to hear of his passing this year. :(
Bought this LP used at Circles inside Cincinnati, Ohios west side
I recall seeing this album in the used bin when I was a teen in the early 80s but never heard it until now. I like Jack's voice and the sound of the record but I wouldn't call it power pop--a little too bluesy for that. It's rock 'n roll.
What is the connection to The Pretty Things?? Did he play on Silk Torpedo or Savage Eye??? They are the LPs Im least familiar with.
He played on both, but mostly on Savage Eye since he joined Silk Torpedo late. His song Sad Eye was the lead off single from Savage Eye, and features very little of the rest of the band.
Saw him in 83 or 84
Does anyone know if this album was ever released on compact disc ?
Check Discogs ...
