As a photographer i just love this vlog. One can see the conflict that's going on in your mind to decide if you want to move, stay put or find a different comp. Plus the hit and miss of shooting different comps and trying out different shots. Most vlogs just cover the best parts but this one was very relatable.
Love the POV style in this vlog. Definitely captured the frantic nature of shooting seascapes in changing light & tides.
Beautiful! Glad you didn’t get swept away.
love this!
Amazing images. Thanks for taking us along!!!
Just beautiful!!
Wonderful and inspirational as always Michael! Great job!!
Spectacular images Michael
Thank you much for showing how you do this. I absolutely love your beach water pics. Now that I see the gear you use I understand.
Awsome video! always love to see these sea scapes!
I just love your style of photography/video. Just the right blend of explaining and photos. I know from experience it can be hectic, but you always sound calm. Nothing better on a Sunday!
Merci beaucoup Michael pour vos explications. Quelles magnifique photos. Marc from France
Spectacular Vlog. Thank you so much for sharing
I’m just gonna go ahead and live vicariously through you Michael because we rarely get the combination of sunset and seascape motion here in New England. Sunrises maybe but the juice is in sunsets. Great job👍🏼
Absolutely gorgeous ❤️❤️
Wow! Some great shots of a great sunset. Thanks for the motivation.
Wow!! You got it! The video brings us right into to the action and we can appreciate the final gorgeous images even more!
I always watch your videos with great enthusiasm. It is always fascinating and instructive. Your city has a wonderful nature. Thank you Michael for your good energy. 🙂
Amazing conditions! Stunning images Michael!
Love your work Awesome images!!!
Absolutely great, Michael!!! 😁👍
Amazing video Michael! Seascape photography is my favorite type of photography as well and I totally agree with you, isn't relaxing at all but at the same time the excitement of getting that motion in the water is rewarding at the end in post. Love this video.
As always, educational, relatable, enjoyable, and enviable. Heading that way in a couple of weeks for a family vacation. Hoping to sneak down there with the camera.
The Picture in a video feature is cool. Most engaging video, good sir!
That was incredible to watch.
These are my favorite type of video from you
I really enjoyed your POV presentation and hearing your thought process as you hunt for compositions. Nice job and great pics.
Thank you for sharing. 💜Love your videos!
This video is really well done. Love the pov, showing us type of style
So cool to ride along with you. Beautiful as always.
lovely
Great shots!
Awesome shots!!Keep it up, best photography vlog around 👍🏼
That sky man!
I love this seascape blog, Michael! I appreciate that you explain your thought process for compositions, and that you show what each shot looks like before the final edit. I live in So Cal and one of my bucket list shots is of the Golden Gate from Marshall’s Beach (and also from Mt Tam). I’m not that far, just need to pick a good weekend and go!
Really useful seeing what you were doing to capture the sunset and the bracketing in particular. Thanks.
That was an amazing sunset for sure! Fun outing...thank you :)
Some beautiful work Michael! I would be interested in how you were able to combine some of these images. There was so much movement in the surf, and it appeared that your tripod was moving, yet the rocks and sea stacks were in focus. It appeared that you were bracketing manually as opposed to allowing your camera to do that for you. All in all, I loved the video and the images you came away with.
Great vlog, really enjoyed this one!
Astonishing video Michael! the images were fantastic!
Nice shots Michael...I really gotta get over to the coast again.
I think this is best video I have seen Thank you 😊
For sharing going out on the field and showing how to compose and mentioning to be careful with the sea waves, A very useful video learnt a lot for it.
Awesome images!! Super inspiring! I wish I lived closer to any moving water!
I love your method with the shot appearing quickly on the side of the screen and camera stats. So helpful thanks. That was almost wetsuit photography.
This was an excellent seascape vlog! Enjoyed hearing your process and confirmation of how chaotic these types of shoots are. I was literally down there in November at Marshall’s beach and struggled to find compositions because I didn’t allow myself more time before sunset.
great shots great video cant wait for the next tnx
Thank you Michael. 🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
Loved this one. Awesome light there.
Wow such a stunning location and great shots and great vid well done
Nice work! Never found the center column is that useful before.
Loved the shots you captured.
Thanks so much! :)
Excellent video Michael, lovely images too. Really enjoyed it 👍🏻
The Return of the King(of seascapes)
Epic conditions Michael! I really like these POV style videos!
Thanks so much!
Amazing!
thank you!
Really love your work sir. Just wish you would post more often.
Brave getting out in the water like that...both for the gear and those waves...they get me every time when I am there.
Thanks
Really good stuff Michael! Great sunset at an iconic location. Surprised you weren't fighting more photographers and tripods that day. Conditions looked superb!
This vlog was amazing. Totally understand that chaotic adrenaline rush chasing beautiful light and grabbing as many compositions as possible. Great video, it’s amazing that you can still vlog hahaha
Thanks for sharing 👌
Good stuff buddy! Epic conditions!
Super video.
really amazing place
I love it. I was hoping to see a pic in landscape orientation that filled my screen so I could really see the detail and colour. Beautiful none the less.
Beautiful and skilful images. Really enjoyed watching your process. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Val!
Thumbs up 👍
The lighted bridge with the fading blue sky would have been a sensational last shot of the night. Talk about romantic scenery...
First!. I've been a long time fan and follower Mike. You're such an inspiration.
Thank you so much!
Super video
Great video.
Fun to watch, excellent images. You've got great "save the camera from the wave" instincts. I was also impressed at your dexterity while changing settings and taking exposures. A great demonstration as to what separates the professionals from this amateur.
Amazing mate 🔥👍
Wonderful and inspirational as always Michael! Great job!! You should consider some of those boring video explaining how you shot your vlogs, as video settings or pictures profiles. I find that your video have the highest quality among landscape photographers and content creators I know of... not only for the content!!! Congratulation and keep on with your amazing work
New subscriber here and I just want to say I really enjoyed this video-the colours were epic! I look forward to your next video. Keep up the great work!
Woww so beautiful Bro....
Fantastic video, I would love to shoot that beach someday! Thanks
outstanding conditions and shots Buddy... Someday I will get to this beach ... Thanks for bringing us along
Thanks for watching man! :)
Is it even possible for you to take a bad photo?! Damn beautiful!
so jealous that this is your local spot.. amazing content!
Hi, new subscriber here from the other side of the country :) Loved your images!
Wonderful set of photos. Love watching how you set up your shots and the thought process that goes into it without being long winded. One question I have is why you don’t use an L-bracket, seems like it would make your tripod a lot more stable in wavy conditions. It’s one of the first accessories I buy when getting a camera.
great
11:07 - my 3 seconds of fame have finally come!!
What a pleasure to see the Nikon lens on that body. The 14-24 is such a good choice for seascapes.
Awesome as always! I find the SFO waters too cold to stand in for all that while!
Incredible video! It would be awesome if you did a follow up showing how you processed. Your work is just so spot on!
Very fine!
Greetings from Germany.
Terrific video, beautiful sunset, and really enjoy the POV with go-pro, feel as if right there with you, and learn a lot. Definitely prefer that point of view rather than b-roll of watching someone walking between tripods or unzipping camera bag. Look forward to next video!
Excellent Video as always @
Michael Shainblum. Maybe one day I can meet you in person because I go to that beach very often.
Inspiring video Michael. I realy woold like to see a defined result. Thnx
Thanks, defined result? You mean see the high res?
Really nice video and images! I occasionally shoot seascapes and use a Sony body too. I highly recommend protecting the hotshoe with the Nikon hotshoe cover that Nick Page recommends. The smallest splash of water in there will cause you great frustration possibly for weeks. The plastic Sony insert is useless. Again, wonderful images! Inspiring.
Nice vid Michael I felt like I was there. Great location that I would like to travel to & not find it covered in SF fog!
Very nice, seascapes with moving water are my favourite to shoot. I agree it isn't relaxing though haha, I always have one eye on the waves ready to grab my camera when a rogue wave comes in
makes me want to strap the gopro on and go shooting
great video
You know, I always face this dilemma when the light is good and I have only two hands. In your vlog I could feel the pull and push of light in both directions. Love this golden gate shot more though.
Great video, Michael! Yep, definitely not relaxing, that's for sure! hahaha
Stunning images 😮😮😮👏👏👏 I’m absolutely gutted as was suppose to be over in 2020 for Yosemite trip with stop over before and after in SF with this beach picked out for visit and as yet trip postponed to 2023 currently 😔😔😔
That was amazing. Great video. Typically where were you focusing on those shots? Or was it manual to infinity?
its interesting to see all the photographers that accumulate to that spot every evening since you've started posting pictures of it some time ago
