I would love to hear which image from this video is your favorite! Or if you had another favorite from one of the videos on my channel? Please let me know in the comments!
It's almost a tie between the trees in the fog and the sand dune with the bird in it. But hands down it's the lightning image for this fellow storm lover! Great work on all of these images!
I don't think I could narrow it down to just one image; I like them all for different reasons. Always enjoy your videos. They're super informative and really relaxing. Keep it up! 👍🏻 Glad your Dad's on the mend; that's great news. I completed understand... However, my Dad wasn't so fortunate and lost his fight with cancer around 5 years ago. It's actually the reason I took up photography. My Dad was into photography and after he passed, I took on his old camera as a means of connecting with him. Been doing it ever since. 🙂
Don't stop photographing rocks on the beach. I love those images and do plenty of that myself when I get the chance. Thanks for sharing. Good wishes for you and for your dad in 2022.
Dear Mr. Shainblum , So happy to hear of your fathers recovery. I have only recently discovered your channel and am happy to have done so. It amazes me how each of the landscape photographers I follow bring such unique perspectives to this artform. I began seeing your face on many of Mr. Hardcastle's videos as well as on Nick Pages' channel. I appreciate that all of you seem to be friends and supportive of each other. You all as a group have only increased my passion for exploring, being in the moment and capturing the incredible beauty of our planet. I live on the west coast just south of Seattle and have now made it a point to road trip as much of Hwy 101 as I can down into Oregon and California. My hope is that I can take what I have learned from all of you and apply it to my own work as someone fairly new to landscape photography specifically. I have found, that after shooting many other types of topics, landscape has completely overwhelmed me as what brings me the most joy. Thank you again for your offerings, insight and passion for what you do. Be blessed.
Michael, you are truly a compositional genius and consummate artist with a camera. With the right light you could make an image of a landfill appear interesting and memorable. Your time lapse body of work is unmatched, and the ease and flow of your vlogs is outstanding. Best wishes to you and your family in 2022.
Rocks on the beach…some people’s sense of taste only extends as far as their mouth 😉. Glad to hear your father is in remission and that you took time to be with them. We will always be here. The storm chasers…awesome. That lightning strike was too much. And on your birthday! The time lapses are just gorgeous whether it was Arizona or Death Valley or the mists rolling over the valley and hills. Beautiful stuff.
For image 3 i agree with you, I love seeing stuff in nature that you would seemingly walk past, 1 of my fav shots it a burnt tree stump, but its shaped like a person screaming, and there is a 2nd face you can pick out in the log, it gives me chills.
I loved the abstract photos with the orange sandstone with the blue-purple patterns. And my absolute favorite with the cactus and the dragon head clouds.
Glad to hear your dad is doing well. What a blessing that you were able to go and be with your family during the trying times of the battle of the cancer. Love your 2021 picks.
Michael, You are one individual's channel that I look forward to no matter what the content is. Just love your style, narration and of course the post processing. Glad to hear your father is doing better. Take care.
Glad to hear your Dad is doing better. Hopefully that continues and you're able to focus on enjoying some photography in 2022 while he continues to improve!
Sorry to hear about your dad but happy to hear that he is in remission! I know all too well how difficult it is when a parent is faced with cancer. I lost my mom following her 2-year battle with esophageal cancer. It was a very difficult thing to witness, and photography took a back seat for me, as well. Looking forward to see what you create in 2022!
Thank you for sharing Michael, such incredible images! Grateful that you that your Dad is in remission... Continue with your great Gift as a Photographer!
I only can agree ... " turtle and egg " is the favorite ! It is incredibly strong and it is difficult to keep my eyes off. With best wishes from the Palatina Woods in Germany !
Michael, these photos are simply beautiful! I am one of your subscribers that have been here for at least a few years. I'm glad to hear your father is doing well. Take care.
My wife and I watched tonight and thought your presentation was marvelous. We particularly liked the Death Vally image (with the bird), the cholla cactus with the dragon and, of course, the lightning. We wish you and your family well, and keep up the wonderful vlogs.
My take-away is that we all can capture fantastic images without exotic travel! I’m so happy to hear that your dad is doing well! Keep up the great work!
Nice set of images. I really enjoyed the Death Valley shots. I’m super happy to hear your dad is making a great recovery. My mom just rang her final radiation treatment bell. She is now cancer free.
Textures video was my biggest inspiration lately. So don’t say it is underestimated. I have been to Big Sur last week, and I have kept in mind all your tips and had amazing clay, sand and rock textures. It made me happy. many many thanks, Michael!
So wonderful to hear your father is doing better . It’s so nice that you went to help your parents and took the time to be with them. All of the photos you picked are beautiful but my favorite is the lightening strike. So amazing!! I liked your video about the beach rocks. Very artistic and letting your imagination run wild. Happy New Year to you Michael. Wishing you the very best!
First of all...I'm really glad your Dad is getting better 🙏 Your photos are all STUNNING mate...Congrats!!! A man like you so transparent,honest,kind...will succeed in this life!! wish you all the best for 2022!!!
The Dragon Egg or Turtle Image is my fav from you, Also the lightening one, i still remember these videos. Sorry to hear about your fathers illness, hope he recovers soon. Love and hugs. Cant wait to see the next seascape video.
After that awful roller coaster, glad to hear your father is doing well. I lost both my parents to cancer and it's a very tough nut. As far as images, I'd have to give the lightning strike a slight edge over the dunes w bird. Just something about the energy, kismet, skill, and balls it took to be out there and get that. Beautiful work in 2021 and as always. Thanks!
your photos are magnificent: the desert, the rainbows during the storms, the mist on the bridge. I find that you have gained in quality and maturity this year. well done
What a year! Really glad to hear that your dad is in remission. Thanks for sharing your thoughts behind your art Michael, hope you have a fantastic new year and your dad a full recovery. All the best, Aaron
solid pictures. And epic moments! Loved the SD paragliding. The Golden Gate Park tree was my fav. I remember when I lived in SF I would take my daughter there daily for walks and disc golf. So moody under the trees. A different world in there.
Congratulations Michael on continued growth as a photographer. You, Nick Page, Alex Armitage, and Thomas Heaton over here have set the bar even higher this year. Sorry to hear about your dad but pleased about his progress. Have a terrific year. @raysimpsonphoto
I’m a very happy to hear your father is doing fine. A huge shock for you at the time and it’s good you came through it . Hopefully this year will sprout a few positive photography surprises for you
It was the best of times……. I especially like the Kitt Peak lightening strike. Can’t wait for your La Jolla video - another if those places I’ve lived in and loved. The best of health to your dad.
I would have to agree with you. This is some of your best work. Don't listen to what others say listen to what your heart says you know from an artistic standpoint and a technical standpoint what makes a good image. 90% of the people that say they didn't like a video or set of images, regarding an artist with some skill sets and time under they're about, have no clue what they're talking about. I'd be willing to bet your peers, those that you've traveled with in the past would have nothing but praise and high remarks about your most recent work in 2021. Congratulations.
Dude; thanks for sharing the wonderful Blessing of your dad and his recovery! Many answered prayers from many of your friends and followers here on youtube. You are such a gifted and talented artist and I am grateful you share that talent with us. And you ask, which is my favorite; it has to be the sand dune with the people and the bird in flight. Viewing it gives me a sense of freedom to explore...
hi Michael first Im happy your dad is on remission, my prayers are with you that your dad will do great, speaking of your photos I love the one with the trees, also the one with the rocks, you are a good son wishing you and your fam a great 2022, go out photograph be happy and stay safe...
Dude I'm so happy things worked out in the end! What a relief. I'm so happy I connected with you on a more personal level (still virtual) through the NFT space last year. A dream come true for me, as you've been one of my biggest inspirations since I started photography! My personal favorite is the lightning strike and observatory! What a stunning shot that combines luck, commitment, hard work and mastery!
Lying in the sofa with covid this was amazing to watch. I'm a sucker for seascapes but I have to say the cacti images are my favorite! I'm so glad your dad is doing okay Michael. Thank you for this, cheers to a better 2022!
So many amazing images. I love that some of them are shot in "mundane" locations (car park and a city park). It's a great reminder that images are everywhere, we just need to find them. So glad your father is ok now ❤️. It's awfully watching someone you love go through treatment and feeling helpless to do anything - from personal experience. In my family it helped us reassess what's truely important in life.
Thank you for sharing - I absolutely loved that video where you shot the 'turtle' image. Just a real video showing what it can be like photographing landscapes/seascapes more often than not. Appreciate all that you do for us
I'm glad you were able to take the time off and help your family. It's great to hear that your dad is feeling better now. Your trip with Nick was one of my favorites of the year from both of you. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. That lightning shot on your birthday is insanely impressive.
Thanks for sharing your personal story. It is great your dad is doing really well now and healing thoughts for your whole family. I really like 2 photos, the dunes with the bird, it has so much atmosphere and the cactus with the dragon cloud, the light is incredible and is just a bit different.
Thank you for sharing this most heart warming video and also showing us a bit of your 2021 creative talent. I'm glad that you took the time to "back away" from your passion to focus on what's really important in life. Through all the crazy social media, sometimes people forget that photographers / creatives also are REAL people, with families and lives. I'm looking forward to your future content and work. Life is a roller coaster - ride the waves.
I haven’t even watched a minute and I can tell you that Im going to love what I see. You are a pioneer, a legend - a damn great photographer. Thanks for the inspiration.
Good to hear that all is good with your father! Went through the same thing when we got the news my mom had cancer (Luckily all good now) but it was rough at that time. Keep making your content, love it :)
Michael, You are a true “ARTIST” and I mean that with immense respect. You follow your gut & forever explore new styles & do what YOU like. You’re also a gentle soul that feels everything. Always my favourite photographer & RUclips vids. My partner & I always have a glass of wine & some chocolate & watch your videos on the big screen. Best wishes to you & your family.
Sorry to know about your father diagnosed with cancer, but happy to know he is in remission. May God Almighty grant him a speedy and Complete recovery. Beautiful pictures in this video. The best I liked is that of the lightening strike. Wishing you a great 2022.
Thanks for the share, the images and videos were great. Glad your dad is doing well. I always look forward to your videos wherever they take you Michael 👍
My favorites were the death Valley minimal photo, the cacti, and the turtle rock. Please continue photographing rocks by the beach as it's always great to know the gems one can find in mundane places. Looking forward to a spectacular 2022!
So happy to hear your dad is doing better. I can't say which was my favorite shot but it could be the first dune shot or the lightning on the mtn. or the sunset in San Diego. Amazing photos, look forward to some more in 2022.
Great photos in 2021. The dunes with the bird is my favorite. Glad to hear that your dad is doing better. Thoughts and prayers for you and your family.
Glad to hear your dad is doing better! I really liked #6 and # 8. Also, I really enjoyed your vid of shooting rocks, etc. I think it is fun to change it up and go after shots that are not our norm :)
Really great news that your Father is in remission. It’s an emotional rollercoaster but stay positive. And WOW! Your images are stunning! My favourites are the dunes and misty tree and lightning. You should feel proud of achieving such moving images, captured with skill and sensitivity. I also love your choice and application of music. Thanks for sharing all this with us.
Thanks for sharing all your beautiful imagery. Glad to hear your dad’s better. I’ve been there. I am so grateful for the years he had after his recovery. It’s great that you could be there for him.
Absolutely love your work Michael. So glad I happened upon your channel. Super glad your dad is in remission! You guys are in my thoughts and prayers. Keep up the amazing work!
Happy to hear your dad is recovering. My father-in-law is suffering greatly with myeloma. It’s heart wrenching. Your images constantly inspire me. I recently got a few decent images amongst the clouds that I’m very proud of. You are absolutely amazing. Thank you.
I loved your rocks on the beach vid - one of my fav things to do as well! Also love that dune image with the bird, but hard to beat the dragon cloud shot. Super cool framing and one of my favorite of your vids.
Gosh Michael, I can just remember soooo many fantastic shots from last year, really so so many shots. And I've just always enjoyed your filmed presence you accompany your adventures with (with? in? hunh?, lol).Wish you and your family the best and thanks for reflecting on your dad's challenge. I'm ready for a 2022 full of glorious adventures and expansive experimentation. Thank you so much.
Keep the good job Micheal. You words encourage me a lot, no matter the photography tips and your attitude toward live. Take good care of your family. Wish all the best for you!
I love your videos and photographs but this one is my favorite so far! Hope your 2022 be filled with joy and all the good things that you want. Wish your dad a full and smooth recovery!
Image 5 is my absolute favourite image. I can't stop watching and the colors in the image are amazing too.
If I had to choose, I would say the cacti and the storm cloud. A perfect example of what makes this earth special!
Image #2 is my favorite one. So simple, just couple of lines, patterns, colors and light in harmony.
I don't think I could narrow it down to just one image; I like them all for different reasons.
Always enjoy your videos. They're super informative and really relaxing. Keep it up! 👍🏻
Glad your Dad's on the mend; that's great news. I completed understand... However, my Dad wasn't so fortunate and lost his fight with cancer around 5 years ago.
Fantastic Images! Great Video and most of all glad your Dad is doing well! Thanks for all your inspiration
I love the turtle shot.
