I had to chuckle at your opening comments about non-photographers perceiving us as "absolutely crazy." Several years ago, I was standing in the middle of the Anza-Borrego Desert trying to capture the Perseid meteor shower at around 1:30 a.m. A sheriff came up on my car parked on the side of the county road (S-2), stopped, and turned his searchlight on. He spotted me, my camera, and tripod and must have just shrugged his shoulders and moved on. I do appreciate the fact that he was concerned enough to stop when he saw a car by the roadside in the middle of the desert, and, no, his light didn't interrupt a shot. Great video, as always, "Foggy Lens"!! 😄
In answer to your question, I'd say the simpler view was best. In the second photo I found myself constantly looking between the bridge and the lights to left but, for some reason, not in a pleasurable way. The first image was more harmonious/relaxing for me. Love the time-lapses! I think yours are usually the best I see on here! Cheers!
It's interesting to see different perspectives. I preferred the full waterfall photo, seeing the lights at the bottom as drips from the river of light above! :)
This guy is the Bob Ross of photography....his casual speech and cadence is very comforting. The videos are very informative and have good setup and backstory...and finish with a lesson learned. Keep up the good work.
Photographers seem crazy even to other photographers sometimes hahaha, so for sure! I never get tired of seeing this Michael. How you display the images you take, how you explain your thought process, the music that you use to compliment it all. Just incredible *Chef's kiss*
Less is more the last two were great but the last for me is the outright winner. The pano with the Milky way and bridge is a keeper to have two iconic images in one frame what's not to love.
The Milky Way shot was epic. You captured a rare moment especially with the fog, which probably helped attenuate some of the light pollution so often generated by large cities. Well done.
I liked the photo with the lights showing on the bottom left. I totally loved this magical adventure. You are an artist, and you are right about working with what you are presented with. Thank you for this amazing view of our Earth and the Heavens.
Terrific shots as always; can never get enough of your timelapses. I hope the goons and goblins leave you alone while you're stumbling around out there in the dark. I appreciate your effort.
I thought that tighter crop at 7:40 was amazing, but really like the way the fog looks like a waterfall in the wider shot at 8:10. LOVE LOVE LOVE the tight crop on the tower from the beach though-that is amazing!!!
Beautiful images Michael. Your calm delivery is what makes your channel to affective. We are along for your journey. Seeing all these images of the bridge from you I need to add to my must visit spots to enjoy this view for myself. I didn't realize there were so many trails with that view! Well done.
Love the minimalist for he fine art feel but also the one on the right for more Golden Gate feel and a sense of being right there and being part of the fog. The very first image set that dreamy mood from front to back that I knew was coming from "Foggylenses" and I wasn't disappointed!!
I like the second picture where you can see the lights at the bottom of the Golden Gate Bridge. The shots made me think about the emotion that pictures can give you. I was completely mind blown in my eyes were glued to the screen. I wish I lived in an area where I can see the Milky Way myself.
Hi Michael, hope all is well with you and your family. What a great video and huge photos!! My personal favourite is the one with both the Golden Gate and the Milky way!!! But regarding your question about both fog over the bridge, my favourite of those two is most definitly the more minimalist one. Once again all the best to you, and thank you for this great video and stunning photos. Congrats!!
Hello Michael from South Africa, great images and a nicely packaged video, no favourite images, they are all great, well done, Photograph Safely, Tod Burns
I prefer the 2nd shot, since the line of clouds is more prominent, stronger....and also the fog is more _wavy_ under the golden gate bridge - it does look extraordinary.
Yes Michael, landscape photographers aren't right in the head. A couple of weeks before your clip I had wriggled and climbed through a safety barrier to get a waterfall shot. I'm terrified of heights but had my tripod leg just a few centimetres from a good 40-50 metres drop. And I'm so glad I made it back intact to see your latest efforts: simply gorgeous images. Your clips are always interesting, entertaining, and instructive.
Liked both of the GG tower closeups, but the second one stands out more for me. I liked the golden amber lights of the road below exposing themselves through the fog. Thanks for the time you spent letting us all see what you experienced.
Hi Michael, I enjoyed watching your video and the captured images are amazing! On you question; without doubt I prefer the minimalistic image which contains a wonderful atmosphere👌
I've seen so many of your videos - this one is fantastic, magical. Wow. I love your whole discourse throughout the evening, and yes I agree. I did favor the simpler image of the two that you asked comment about, but I have to say that you really were way on your game tonight. Thanks as always Michael, what a lot to enjoy and digest.
Every single image and time lapse in this video is crazy good! And like you said, how could you possibly have planned for that? I have no idea what my favorite is, as they are all both so different and so amazing. The pano with the Milky Way just has me shaking my head. There is no way that I would have believed that was anywhere near possible! Thanks for the reminder to always give something seemingly crazy and unplanned a shot. You just might end up with magic! Oh, and to your question, I like the simplicity of the first image without the distraction of the lights. It has a really ethereal quality.
This video is so calming, glad it showed on my recomendation! I hope someday when i was grow enough to go anywhere, i want to take a shot like this, atleast once in my life.
Excellent shot of the MW over SF! Night photography has its own harried version of persistence. I've sat on intertidal rocks for hours wondering if anyone saw me and thought that maybe I needed help ;-). Or just staying out all night, especially in the northern latitudes, looking for a comp in the ethereal light. Fortunately, very few people are out in the wee hours let alone pre-dawn and post-sunset, often the best times of the day. Keep up the great work!
Awesome! I live here in the Bay Area (Oakland). I have been wanting to go to the Marin Headlands at night for quite some time. After seeing this video I will definitely go this weekend. I like the image that shows more of that bottom section. I have been to the Marin Headlands many times in the daytime, never at night nor in the fog.
I liked the little lights in the second image but the blue strip above has a lot of pull. All the pictures were cool but that last one of just a small section of the bridge from the other park, woo! that's so nice!
What a beautiful set of images, absolutely phenomenal. So glad you could share them with all your followers. Your timelapses are great but I really love your still images.
Hi Michael Another brilliant video from you with fantastic images, both those shots are great, I would probably go for the first one though as I really like minimalistic stuff, and the timelapse was awesome, regards Ian
I'm completely in awe with your work. Thank you for sharing your view of the world with us. That pano was so insanely beautiful it made me cry a little 🥲 And, in answer to your question, I liked the second one best. But the last photo was the one that truly touched me, I even paused the video to get a better view of it. And as I did, the only word I could think of was "rare". A rare perspective, a rare photo, a rare person ✨ THANK YOU, FOGGY LENS! 🌁👓
Killer! I have spend some time shooting here and I figured you could get a Milky Way shot with the marine layer blocking out the city lights. Well Done!!!
I think they are both beautiful images and each one tells a very different story. However, if forced to pick, I like the minimalist one the best. And the one you showed just afterwards, the top of the tower surrounded by fog! I love the fog waterfalls in SF. Great video! Thank you as always for sharing.
This was breathtaking!! I actually enjoy the more fuller picture, as the fog is cascading almost as a waterfall crashing below. The Frame be frame for that is something I feel I will never see again!
I had to chuckle at your opening comments about non-photographers perceiving us as "absolutely crazy." Same. Simpler ftw.
Same here. I found these lights in the corner too distracting. But still wider image has cool fog waterfall 😃
Agree, I kept looking at the lights which took me away from the best part of the images.
Love the Milky Way pano, awesome work!
It's interesting to see different perspectives. I preferred the full waterfall photo, seeing the lights at the bottom as drips from the river of light above! :)
Same for me 👍 Love your images AND this video, AND your message about going with the flow and serendipity!
For me is the simpler photo the better one.
The milky way with the Golden Gate was incredible.
I love how he's so nonchalant about capturing the Milky Way. I would be ecstatic to even get a shot like that.
This guy is the Bob Ross of photography....his casual speech and cadence is very comforting. The videos are very informative and have good setup and backstory...and finish with a lesson learned. Keep up the good work.

Nuts!! 😀 Imagine seeing the Milky way from San Francisco!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
That final closeup of the tower. That’s the one!
The Milky Way shot was epic. You captured a rare moment especially with the fog, which probably helped attenuate some of the light pollution so often generated by large cities. Well done.
I really like the second picture. Having lived a lot of my life in the Bay Area, I am entranced by the way the fog moves and boils.
Just one word from Brazil: Obrigada! 💯💛💚
I love the pic without the bottom lights. Watching this video was very comforting and relaxing…can’t wait for more!!!
the second one with minimal fog visible is my favourite
Wife Kathy liked the minimalist one, while I liked the other. Gorgeous!!
I liked the photo with the lights showing on the bottom left. I totally loved this magical adventure. You are an artist, and you are right about working with what you are presented with. Thank you for this amazing view of our Earth and the Heavens.
I liked the picture on the right, with the lighting on the bottom left. Added to the warm comfortable atmosphere.
Well done Michael! As a SF native I never tire of fog and GG bridge images. Loved them all!
Just unbelieveable.... awesome pictures Michael! Keep on your great work!!! 👍👍👍
Outstanding Michael! Not only are your images exceptional but also your video skills and narration. 👏👍
Michael, The longer flow image works better for for me. Thanks for the astonishing imagery , your captures are always amazing 👍
I enjoy the second exposure more.
The lights below add depth, some perspective and mystery.
Great work Michael, all the best.
I like the image with the lights and additional fog puffs in the lower left.
Love this VLOG, Michael! Amazing shots and timelapses. I prefer the more zoomed-in, more minimalist version of the bridge 🙂
Your Milky Way photo have me excited for this year's season. I'm pumped
Beautiful photo's!! 😊 The first one is so peaceful and dreaming, but I like the second one too!
FINALLY THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE IS GOLDEN
The one with the bottom lights I like the best, giving some context of the structure. Great video of these great photographs.
Your Work is SOoo Beautiful Michael Happy New Year 2022 XO Cheers
Wonderful evening Michael. I too am surprised that you could get the Milky Way over SF. Will have to share this with my sister in the East Bay Area.
So majestic and beautiful 😍 you're an amazing photographer ❤ I really am hoping to visit Golden Gate Bridge. This is so fascinating 👏 👌 🙌
Beautiful images Michael. Your calm delivery is what makes your channel to affective. We are along for your journey. Seeing all these images of the bridge from you I need to add to my must visit spots to enjoy this view for myself. I didn't realize there were so many trails with that view! Well done.
Thanks a lot for taking us with you in these amazing adventures.
Simply amazing. Every photograph is amazing. However, out of the two you requested feedback on, I prefer the minimalist one.
Thank you Michael, 2022 starts so well. Bravo.🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
Beautiful. I prefer the photo to the left. Love the time laps with the fog. xoxo
Truly stunning MICHAEL!!! I prefer the simplistic shot.
Each one of your videos is a treat to my eyes. I always wait eagerly for your videos! Love how you explain things and show the surroundings!
All those images are F'n Epic sir. Beautiful. Bet you had a blast that night.
Super video clips & photos such a joy watching these! I prefer the minimalist shot of the bridge and fog 😀
Love the minimalist for he fine art feel but also the one on the right for more Golden Gate feel and a sense of being right there and being part of the fog. The very first image set that dreamy mood from front to back that I knew was coming from "Foggylenses" and I wasn't disappointed!!
Spectacular work, Michael and agree with your philosophy on planning shoots. 👍
Gorgeous and magnificent, so thank you for sharing your experience.🙏🏻
I like the second picture where you can see the lights at the bottom of the Golden Gate Bridge. The shots made me think about the emotion that pictures can give you. I was completely mind blown in my eyes were glued to the screen. I wish I lived in an area where I can see the Milky Way myself.
Stunning! You have captured the most amazing and beautiful images. You are a true artist.
Beautiful images. That’s it. Just beautiful images.
First video I ever saw. I loved it, you left me enjoying the peace of the beauty.
Beautiful work, i also enjoyed the simpler view without the lights at the bottom. The time lapses were wonderful too.
Congrats!!
Great work -- especially the minimalist shot of the GG Bridge at minute 7:18
Very nice! I liked the last minimalist one of the bridge the most. I think that one would look nice in black also.
I prefer The one on the left, the minimalist one. Great shots !
Thank you Michael. You worked very hard. It was very informative and beautiful. You will always be the best 🙏🤍
Thank you so much for the support Saeid!
Beautiful images Michael, from a beautiful soul.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful story of making an awesome photos!
Absolutely gorgeous all of them

Incredible photos. Congratulations. I prefer the simplier one. But my favorite is the one with the cars trails.
Thank you for sharing this breathtaking video, I so appreciate it! 😄
The minimalist picture is more pleasing to me :) very cool!
Awesome - I preferred the image showing the fog clouds below the bridge.
Always inspiring Michael. Your channel is the best.
As always, your photos are just beautiful.
Simply gorgeous

Haha not my most profound statment, but hopefully it helps someone with their shooting mindset.
Brilliant video, the minimalist shots were definitely my favourite, cool time lapse.

Beautiful Michael!!! This was inspiring - I’m heading to SF tomorrow for my first time and really looking forward to shooting in the area.
As a astro photographer, this can be achieved, once the cloud coverd the light pollution, you can shoot milky way. congratulations! Nice image
Wow, just wow!
Some wonderful results. Of the two images of the foggy North Tower I preferred the zoomed in version - fewer distractions.
Outstanding vblog and magical images for real!
This video is so calming, glad it showed on my recomendation! I hope someday when i was grow enough to go anywhere, i want to take a shot like this, atleast once in my life.

I love the one of the flowing fog
absolutely amazing, beautiful content, it made me gasp, what a wonderful adventure!
Nice. Awesome and beautiful.

absolutely STUNNING work!!!
