I think by now we all know you're an honest guy, so not really necessary to say "honest" review.
This one is an abolutely winner. So versatile, clean and sexy. Love Bleu de Chanel
As a British chap you should try Penhaligon‘s especially „Endymion“.. the founder was born nearby Penzance..
Many greetings from the continent 🙋🇩🇪
Agreed! It's one of my favourites. That said I don't think it smells as good as it used to (about 5 years ago)
Sartorial is my favourite Penhaligon’s fragrance. Smells great and performance is great (sadly the latter is lacking in Endymion).
I always receive very positive comments whenever I wear Bleu.
A couple of hundred fragrances!? That is bananas.
My all time favourite. The Parfum version is the best in the line.
I swap between this and green Irish tweed by Creed. Lots of compliments on both, but Bleu is I would say a more universal scent
I avoided Bleu De Chanel for a while because I knew it was so popular, I've always wanted something a bit different.
However, a year or so ago I received a sample vial from a family member and was immediately smitten. I thought, "Alright, I get it. This is wonderful." Upon finishing my sample, I purchased the largest size of the EDP at my local retailer. It has been worth every penny. I look forward to the days I decide to wear it. It just smells *that* good.
As far as it's popularity? Most men don't wear fragrances in their day to day lives, so I've resolved to not worry about it and enjoy wearing what I like.
All the best to you and your family Ash!
My way to go with this amazing fragrance is one spray EDT, one spray EDP and one spray Parfu all together. At this moment I'm very impressed by Versace Eros.
I use this quite often and it’s my go-to for the past year.
Fully agree. It’s phenomenal. Once in a while I like to try niche scents but always come back to this.
Is it fair to say that this is the Mercedes Benz of fragrances?
Couldn't agree more,Ash. I use Bleu de Chanel and it always gets compliments.....as you say "it just bloody works!". I might have to change when/if I turn 89 and meet the UN Sec Gen, but until then I will keep it as my "go-to". Great review, as always, Thank you☘️
Excellent perfume
I love the jacket.
I use this usually for a daytime fresh fragrance, it's very good. Artemesia is the genus of the sagebrush plant if my plant taxonomy class served me well,
parfum the best I'm bdc imo
Seriously this Bleu is a great one. My wife makes sure I always have a bottle to draw from. Tend to wear this one on days that I am looking to take it up a notch.
This is my favourite ‘going out’ fragrance.
I was very lucky that my father in law had a large bottle, but didn’t like the scent, so I ‘did him a favour’ by taking it off his hands
I have the EDP version. It's one of my favourite out of my 6 fragrances lol!
Have to agree this stuff is loved by all
😩 I just bought the EDT version, I didn’t like the EDP but never knew there was a more expensive Parfum, I gotta wait a year to use it up lol
I prefer allure homme sport eau extréme personally but my favourite chanels are pour monsieur edp/edt ..Antaeus and I wear the women's chanel 19 edt and No5 edp
Nice fragrance. Only drawback is its an uninspiring choice. Its readily available on the high street and while most dont wear a fragrance those that do, BDC is not unique and will evoke connotations among some.
I am 11 and I have Bleu de Chanel parfum and too many people say it’s not for me…
Shocking how different the aftershave and EDT is when it comes to Tabac. I like the aftershave and actually find it performs a little better. I was disappointed with the EDT. Shocking.
I’m getting an empty atomiser bottle and putting the aftershave in there
I have to say I much prefer your bargain scent reviews. How to smell great on accessible levels of money. Please don't stray into only reviewing expensive scents, shoes, watches etc. Loads of other channels like that, keep to winning formula 👍
A couple of hundred fragrances? -I have six in my personal collection, although each of them is something that is considered to be at the higher end of men's fragrance options.
I do appreciate these honest, straightforward reviews, Ash, and with the weather turning quite warm, already, here in southern Ontario, I might just be tempted to add something light and refreshing to my current olfactory arsenal. ;-)
What are your six fragrances?
@@blkryno The six fragrances I am currently wearing are, in no particular order: Tobacco Vanille, Green Irish Tweed, Grey Vetiver, Black Orchid, Fahrenheit, and Bleu de Chanel.
@@johnbunton9177 lovely choices! Thanks for sharing
I must say my collection of fragrances is far minimal compared to yours, I currently have two signature scents I enjoy very much, I just recently mustered up the courage to start donning fragrances after viewing your RUclips channel, as well as other channels that speak about fragrant scents, and learning about the various notes, I'll share a funny story when I was still amongst the secular working class, a fellow co-worker comment the he like the cologne I was wearing, turns out it was my under arm deodorant he was smelling, as always thanks for sharing!
‘Amongst the secular working class’….., have you risen to a higher plain of existence sir?
Very easy……the wife likes it, been wearing it for years❤
Honestly, are not all your reviews honest?
I considered Bleu de Chanel as a regular scent I could wear. However my wife didn’t like it much, and she’s the only one who counts, right?
I always watch your vids. Have you tried CHANEL.. Le Liòn. A little more costly. 35ml or 200ml. Leather and tobacco plus other tones as it evaporates off. I used to think it was made using those actual items. But no. It’s all Herbs. It’s absolutely memorable. I think so anyway. My go to fragrance. In my view beats Tom Ford hands down.
I will check it out
Le Lion es spectacular 👍
I simply cannot abide by the shower-gel connotations of blue fragrances. I have no doubt that most houses make Hugh quality juice, but it's simply not a scent profile that appeals to my taste. Give me oriental spicy please ☝️
I have got both versions of Bleu De Chanel. I'm due to restock on the EDT version as it's the one I use most out of all the fragrances I have. Have you tried fragrances from Penhaligon? They have some nice fragrances they are quite expensive. I got a boxed set of their miniature fragrances as a gift that contains 5 x 5ml of their most popular fragrances. I've only tried a couple of them to date, and I must admit I do like the smell of them.
I highly recommend both, Endymion and Endymion concentre by Penhaligon‘s!
I do like the Endymion and the Halfeti fragrances
I once heard a female RUclips reviewer say that Halfeti snaps knicker elastic.
@@ScottParkinsonP5 I think I’ve to visit the perfumery immediately 🤩
Your jacket, cold war vintage military surplus? Maybe Eastern European?
This is on my wish list along with Floris No 89 and Trumpet Eucris. I don't tend to wear a fragrance in everyday life, so a bottle can last me a couple of years. Maybe I need to make a habit of using a fragrance every day. I certainly don't need 3 bottles so which of these three would you start with Ash?
Bleu is good for everyday events. No 89 is a bit more classy and Eucris is simply frightening!
@TheChapsGuide perhaps Eucris isn't for me then 😅. Any other year-round everyday recommendations?
Thanks
Ash, I think a store in my local mall carries this. I'll have to check it out from what you say. Is it an aromatic fougere?
It is defined as a woody aromatic. Worth trying.
@@TheChapsGuide Certainly! Just bought some from there today. Along with one of their deodorant sticks.
Hi Ash. You said you have a couple of hundred fragrances....my wife said the go off....what do uou think...
Stored correctly a fragrance can last decades. They will outlive me at this point.
Do you have a Xerjoff/Casomorati fragrance?
Sadly not yet sir. Is it good?
@@TheChapsGuide They’re expensive but very good and have a long last on them. I have the Xerjoff Alexandria 2 oud and I love it. I’ve sampled the Casomarati Mefisto and I think that’s a great summer fragrance.
I purchased a bottle of BdC EDP early in my fragrance journey when it first came out, and wore it pretty much daily to the office for about a year. At the time I didn't own many other fragrances, now I own about seventy different ones from different houses. Since a couple of years this fragrance has fallen out of favour. To me, on my skin, it smells too generic, somewhat like a men's shower gel. It has nothing edgy about it, it is just too overly mass appealing and one dimensional for my tastes. For the money, there are many other better fragrances one could get, and this is coming for someone that adores other men's fragrances from the house of Chanel, like Antaeus (vintage formulation), Allure, Egoïste and Platinum Egoïste.
I bought this blind on high recommendations and it smells like my grandma's makeup.
Your grandmother was obviously a very stylish man.
@@TheChapsGuide She did have a moustache her dime store cosmetics couldn't quite cover up, so you might be on to something. My grandma the chap. It does have a fun ring to it. Uncle Larry was the 'stylish' one in the family though. They called him a gentleman bachelor back in his time. Come to think of it he wore the same makeup.
