- DK/light worsted wool 75g / 260m
- DK/light worsted acrylic 130g / 260m
- 8mm needles
- Stitch marker, scissors, measuring tape, yarn needle or crochet hook
1:46 ABBREVIATIONS
st(s) = stitch(es)
k = knit
p = purl

5:19 STITCH MARKER SETUP
Place a stitch marker after 8sts then continue to end of row. This is the right side (rs) of your work. Knit in rib the wrong side (ws) of your work.
7:56 HOOD INCREASE
Increases are made on rs in 4 rounds. 2 knit increase (m1r) rounds and 2 purl increase (m1r-p) rounds
8:22 Round 1 - Knit increase
Knit in rib to stm, m1r, slip stm, knit in rib to end of row
Knit ws in rib (purl the stitch made in the previous row)
13:30 Round 2 - Knit increase
Repeat round 1
18:35 Round 3- Purl increase
Knit in rib to stm, m1r-p, slip stm, knit in rib to end of row
Knit ws in rib (knit the stitch made in the previous row)
23:23 Round 4 - Purl increase
Repeat round 3
Repeat rounds 1-4 until you have 48sts on your needles
Knit 10cm without increasing
27:52 STITCH MARKER SETUP
Knit in rib until stm, remove stm, k1, place stm, continue to end of row.
Knit ws in rib.
29:19 HOOD DECREASE
Decreases are made on rs with the k2tog decrease
Round 1 - Decrease
Knit in rib until 2sts before stm, k2tog, slip stm, continue to end of row in rib. Knit ws in rib
Repeat round 1 until 20sts remain
[note: as you are decreasing, the stitches on the wrong side won’t always make a perfect 2x2 rib. Be careful when knitting the sts next to the stitch marker]
33:31 SCARF PART 2
Once you have finished shaping the hood, knit in rib for 50cm.
Cast off 20sts in rib cast off.
Weave in ends.

this is so cute! I love seeing you upload again :D what ways do you style it other than how you wore it in the introduction? might make one at some point :0
thank you! I wear it as a regular scarf, also I double wrap it around my neck when it's cold. Sometimes I wear it under my actual hoodie if it's very cold and I'm cycling (: (:

I just started this project and I'm so excited! Should you block the scarf once you finish?
yay! happy to hear. I've made 3 so far and I didn't block 2 of them and they're fine but the blocked one does look quite nice. I made a video about it if you want to see how I did it ruclips.net/video/xBTC5uSpCbo/видео.html
Don't know how to knit...wondering how to convert to crochet pattern...pleez
For the decrease part, every single decrease should be a knit not a purl? And every opposite row should be whatever the stitch is below it? Even if it doesn’t fit the rib pattern?
I added 8 stitches to make it a little wider. Should my stitch count on the hood jump from 48 to 56?
Would it be possible to make this with fingering weight?
When decreasing, the loops are always knitted, never purled?
Hi! Lovely pattern, planning on trying it out. New knitter and just wanted to ask- is there a reason that you use both acrylic and wool? Does the acrylic add additional characteristics to the scarf that you desire? Wondering if I can do only wool. Thanks!
Hello! I chose to work with both because I wanted the warmth of the wool but sometimes I find wool a bit scratchy so the acrylic makes it softer. The two combined is a nice result of warm and comfortable :) But just using wool is totally fine too. Good luck!
hi mena! how wide is the scarf at the hood part (its widest)?? i’m in the middle of knitting mine but i’m not sure if i should continue increasing since we’re using different yarn. 😊😊
hi hannah! it's about 22cm unstretched but can stretch out to about 45cm. You can try putting it on your head and checking that way, that is what I did the first time I was making it (: good luck!
@@menaknits thank you!!! i’ll def try it on as i’m going. ur an angel 😇
Mena chan, アメリカ式だったんだね。フランス式よりきちんと編めるよね。ショートヘアお似合いです。great teacher.
Hey, looks like a great idea, exactly what I was looking for. I just don’t understand why you use 2 strands of yarn, is that necessary or optional?
hey yes it's optional, I wanted the warmth of the wool and the softness of the acrylic :)
@@menaknitsthank you! I also took two strands now, but because it is a nice color combination haha I do have another question now though. I started the first part of the scarf and want to do the hood increase know. Instead of 20 stitches I started with 22 because I wanted it to be a little big bigger, do I have to pay attention to certain things when I do the increase or can I follow your tutorial?
Just finished mine but realized when I hit the decreases that I didn’t do purl increases so my increases are all in knit stitch 😭
oh nooooooooooooo
It looks cold there.
it is!
