How To Reshaft Golf Clubs

- One of the most asked questions about golf club work is how difficult is it to reshaft golf clubs, specifically a driver with an adapter. THP TV went right to the experts at UST Mamiya to have them show a step by step guide to reshafting a driver, and these instructions can be used to reshaft any golf club.

Easy peasy. Watching Danny makes me wonder why it took me so long to get up the guts to do my own shaft work.
He makes it look so easy! Great video THP, and great walk through Danny.
I have never tried to install a shaft before, but this video makes me pretty confident that I could do it without destroying something. I love the special Danny Lee "tap" at the end. Makes a lot of sense if you have seen some of his other videos.
First time seeing the ferile put on like that. Danny makes it look so easy.
Interesting stuff. I've never done anything with my clubs other than re-grip them. I really liked the use of the magnifying glass in the video to get a close up of the application of epoxy.
Never done any clubwork myself. This video makes it seem easier than what I expected to be involved. Not sure I'd ever do it myself though, but cool to watch.
Danny makes it look so easy! Watching him prepare the iron shafts in the first UST Shaft Up video, I was amazed at how quick/efficient he is. Like the more is better than less advice for sure.
I have put new grips on my clubs but have never done new shafts. I enjoyed the video and found it helpful
After watching this video, I have the confidence to try building my first fairway wood. Thanks THP and Danny !
I have never personally done this but for something that is so hard he sure makes it look easy
Love this video and really wonder why I don't start doing this work myself. Danny does a great job not only showing us how it's done but also teaching us how to do it!
Awesome vid, been wanting to learn but was hesitant and just didn't have the right tools. I will get the necessary tools and material try on my own. Danny does a great job, making it easy to reshaft a golf club. Thank you!!!!
Would really like to start looking into doing my own clubs, from grips to shafts and these videos make it look really simple (though his experience also makes it look too easy)
Great job by Danny explaining this and really makes it look pretty simple and not overwhelming to someone that may have never done this before.
I've always thought the 24 hour stuff was better but Danny made it seem like either is great. I definitely like the sound of 30 mins later being on the range though!
I REALLY REALLY need to get a driver with the adapter. This will make trying/changing new shafts SOOOO much easier. Great vid, though, I've never seen this done before.
I thought I was reshafting clubs correctly, but Danny's video shows the proper way to do it obviously. The one thing that stands out is how little epoxy is required. I have been wasting epoxy! I tried some heads recently and got a much better bond using less, and the set was quicker too. I would still love to see a Master ply his trade in person. Very educational. Thanks for sharing this.
Danny makes that look too easy, going to have to give it a try soon, maybe when my UST COOL shaft arrived!!
I have never had clubs built for me and I have never tried building clubs myself so this was very interesting to me. It actually looks pretty straight forward, if you know what you are doing (I don't...) I didn't realize that much epoxy would be used. Thanks for the video.
Danny is great at so many things!! Thanks for the info!!
This is PackerHawk from THP forum btw
Great video. I guess it is easy to reshaft new clubs
Thanks for the walk through. Great info!
This is a great video on shafting a golf club but wasn't the RE-shafting video I was looking for as the title states.
Wow, how simple. I always thought it would be more time consuming than. Thank you for the information. (patriotcoach)
Adding a bit of epoxy before putting on the ferrule. Such a small thing but makes things so much easier.
This is good stuff, I haven't used the tour epoxy only the 24 Hour cure. I need to get some of that Tour epoxy and a Callaway adapter for my Masters Edition UST Mamiya shaft I won. It's just been sitting in the corner of my room staring at me long enough.
Nice explanation of the process... I feel comfortable with the overall process with individual components, but what is the process when you have existing club (iron) you want to change the shaft in? I assume once you have the head removed its the same process? I plan to pick up or use old club to try this myself.
Would be nice if there were some close-up camera work to show the adaptor and such.
As is, it just looks like the previous old version of a shaft going into a hosel with no adaptor.
Also would like to see a clip of removing a shaft from a club that has an adaptor.
Really like to see the dry-setup first. A step I always always neglect unfortunately. LOL thought Danny was going to forget the sleeve for a moment.... but no sir.
Is it generally recommended to insert the shaft into the adaptor with or without the head attached to the adaptor? Always thought it was done with just the adaptor and shaft (without the head).
This is sambamdad....great seeing how to re shaft...looks pretty easy..until i do t, then i am guessing that i would screw it all up....can you shaft a old wooden head with the graphite shaft? Would love to see the facility!
Nice tutorial. Need to set up a workstation at some point and get started. Will regrip every now and then and that's the extent of my abilities.
Danny does a great job walking us through. The zoom effect was a nice touch. Looks easy, but wonder how difficult the tip prep is...
As easy as he made that look I already know I would mess up the graphic alignment or have epoxy everywhere on the club head. I mean that was TOO EASY...but again he is next level fitter.
TheGoodDr here.....enjoyed the video, but I have a very basic question:
How do you remove the club head from an old shaft without damaging either?
ruclips.net/video/eVyAELOGPnY/видео.html
I really learned two important things...a little epoxy will help the ferrule slide and I waste way to much epoxy.
When you add a tip weight do you tip trim the shaft the distance the tip weight would stick?
Can I reshaft a m3? Need to know think I need a stiff but if i dont need to replace it
Picked up an expert tip from watching this video. Never previously put the ferrule on AFTER putting some epoxy on the tip. I will from here out.
looks easy buy getting old shafts off gotta be hard i wouldnt know first step on how to do it

Great tutorial! You say basically a lot…
Do you do your own club work?
I do not, but this video makes it look easy
When you give it a try, let us know how it went.
yes
Basically
That club looks familiar....
basically
Yup! Easy peasy. Ha ha. I'd have epoxy everywhere but where its supposed to be.
Stop saying basically
Almost as good as i am , I'm kidding 😂
