- Helping a college golfer from Woodstock Ga. we are removing golf shaft adapters from a Titleist and a Taylormade and installing the golf adapters to allow for a switch of the shafts to better fit the golfer. Watch the video to see the specific needs of the switch.
Join us on Mondays 530 pm for whats in my drawers golf talk.
The Titleist adapter - it has a retaining ring at the top. I like to slide it off and remove the rotating cog so that it isn't in the way when heating the tip to pull it.
Jim, is it necessary to spread epoxy on the inside of the hosel as well as on the shaft tip? and how do you avoid melting the plastic ferrule when removing an adapter?.I have purchased a number of extra ferrules for different manufacturers just in case I get heavy handed with the flame !!!!!
I have Titeleist 905R driver that needs a new shft. My shaft broke while going to the driving range. I went to Golf Town to get the driver repaired. I was told that nobody repairs through shaft. Seeing your video , will you be able to fix the driver. I am from Canada.
How to install?
What machine are you using to find the spine, and is the laser something you added on? Thanks as always for your great videos.
If your rotating the shaft with an adjustable hosel. Wont the spine change if he changes loft?
paying for PURE-ing is just a waste of cash.
With the Ventus Red shaft/Titleist driver head - did you remove the green TaylorMade epoxy from the tip? After having a ton of adapters moving during curing, what I do now is I take a small philips screwdriver to push the epoxy plug out while it is warm after removing the old adapter. I hate trying to drill it out afterwards. Without that hole for air to escape, the adapter always moves on me.
Not a fan of that Taylormade paint scheme. Too much going on for me. The Titleist is class.
Would you say a micro torch is necessary or would a butane/propane, even map gas torch be ok?
Let me know when you need an apprentice.
For a DIYer what epoxy would you recommend? Is it something I’ll have to order or can I find it in stores? I’m sure you’ve talked about it before but not sure what video it would be. This is my first trying to do it myself. Thanks and great content!!
I noticed you don't add epoxy to the inside of the hosel, only the shaft. Must be an uneeded step as it works for you?
I appreciate all the content you put out for the community Jim! Always look forward to the videos.
Can you please tell me what you are using to line the edge of your bench? Looks like interlocking rubber matting but the shape isn’t quite the normal “puzzle” shape. Thanks Jim!
Great video, Jim! Thanks for posting this.
You bet
Can you do one of these on where why and how to apply lead tape as needed.
Does finding the spine just help in finding the flow? And then you adjust for perfect flow regardless of where the spine might be?
Some will only use spine to build, I do use it to find FLO
Titleist sleeve. A1 is standard.
Thank you Jim... you are awesome.
Awesome Content Jim. I am always reminded about how easy it is to watch an expert work at his craft. Great job sharing your talents.
Thanks 👍
Nice work Jim.
Great video❤ looks easy enough, I’ll leave it to the expert.
Ok
