Einfach überwältigend. Ich bin froh, nicht in der Jury zu sitzen. Alle Sängerinnen und Sänger hätten den ersten Preis verdient. Eines steht fest, die Oper lebt und die neue Generation hat einige der schönsten Stimmen, die ich je hörte.
Das sollte in Deutschland auf arte oder 3sat übertragen werden, tolle Veranstaltung, auch das Programm, ich bin rundum begeistert. Die knapp zwei Stunden vergingen wie im Flug.

The Uzbeki tenor is fantastic. He produced the most beautiful and refined sound. Also he was very emotive with the music.
A beautiful rendering of a heartbreaking aria. It takes courage to offer this, especially after numerous famous tenors have established their version as the one to beat. Davronov can hold his head up high, for he's as good as the very best.

Some amazing talent here. I didn't watch them but just listened as I was doing some work, I find that I pay more attention to the voices and don't let appearances affect my opinion. There were some real jewels in there

The sound was not synchronized properly. They were all remarkably good looking.

@@rogerpropes7129 Yes, that can occur at times, and it is so easy to correct before uploading the program. Still, that was a minor distraction in an enjoyable and rewarding program. All performers were good, but some "more good" than others - naturally. The range of arias from the very familiar to the less so. Boquets also to the conductor and orchestra, with special mention to the violin solo in the Lecuona piece.

Such wonderful talent displayed in such a magnificent theatre I am flawed with delightful sights and heavenly sounds.
After watching the complete concert I return to say that I have never witnessed such a display of such talent from singers so young and gifted.

My favorites were Karkacheva (Russia), Ayon-Rivas (Peru), Davronovo (Uzbekistan) and Hoskins (USA), and I'm glad (but not surprised) to see that they are among the 1st and 2nd prize winners. They really have the material and, apparently, the technical experience to make great careers. I also liked Jusung Park and Dmitry Cheblykov very much, both vocally and interpretively. I also think the American countertenor Murrah is very promising, a much more natural and less fabricated voice than many countertenors. The sopranos were all good or very good, but I don't think any of them left me truly amazed, especially in the lower and higher registers. But of course that's all judging from afar and from microphone-enhanced audio capture, listening to the performers live is often something else.
Jusung Park has an amazing beautiful voice, i glad someone noticed it too.

All the singers, and the orchestra, are wonderful. Though not represented among those who won prizes, want to say I appreciate the wonderful energy in Mr. Nelson's voice, the musicality of Mr. Murrah's work, Mr. Cheblykov's Rachmaninoff....and all the passionate pieces sung in Spanish!
Quel régal! Quel merveilleux moment! Toutes ces jeunes et belles voix dans certains des extraits d’Opéras particulièrement difficiles,justement pour déceler chez le concurrent la performance ou la faille aux yeux du jury. Je ne suis pas un amateur très éclairé, mais je crois avoir suffisamment d’oreille pour reconnaître un vrai talent,et cette cuvée 2021 n’en manque pas…Élus ou pas à tous ces superbes finalistes je souhaite une longue et belle carrière pour notre plaisir…Quant au chef d’orchestre créateur de cette formidable compétition, je suis fan depuis toujours de ce fabuleux et généreux Ténor avec un grand T, qu’est Placido Domingo que je salue respectueusement et un grand merci pour tout ce bonheur reçu.

His capture of Español is amazing. I shouldn’t be amazed, musicians can always hear the nuances in languages.
His is an already refined tenor voice, with a tone quality similar to Domingo’s in his prime. His grasp of Spanish, as was mentioned above, as well as the emotion he imparts to the text, are most impressive.

The Russian mezzo soprano Karkacheva has great technique,no strain in her voice ,great timbre,color,power,she has everything.Also Mane Galoyan is magnificent.From the men,Davronov by far,great voice technique,no strain at all.The American soprano Pogorelc was also a standout.

The tenor from peru definitely has potential! A wonderful, powerful, and open voice. I can definitely hear the old school technique from him. Hopefully he'll have a bright future in the art.

I really don't understand how he won. He has some kind of Mario del Monaco approach: "push with your shoulders and produce max. volume" .. to me that's not a good thing in any way.
He studied with a former winner of the Luciano Pavarotti competition from 25 years ago.
