Back then, the smoke machines cost a few hundred dollars. I'm glade I was able to find an inexpensive one. We have another small EVAP leak that I need to find. This little guy will pay for itself the first time I use it.

I made the “martinbuilt” smoker from his channel and hooked it up to the little yellow air compressor from harbor freight. Works great and less than 25 bucks!
Hi, my audi a4 b7 has a turbo. So if I just push the smoke into the air intake the smoke would go through the turbo and ends up at the throttle body. What about all the vaccum hoses? Does the throttle have to be open? Thanks
Someone recently did this for me because I think i may have an evap leak. But they ran the smoke through the oil cap. Is this recommended? We didn't see any leaks and the smoke just exited through the air intakes. I am trying to see if I have a leaking intake manifold is there a better way to perform this test?
I have a large leak i did the smoke machine but there were no leaks but still say I have a large leak, I changed the purge valve and the leak detection pump and no luck🤦🏻♂️
Hey Ty. I saw that no one responded to you so I thought I'd help you out. Yes you can use an air compressor BUT make sure the pressure is no higher than 1%. That said, you can't always trust air compressor gauges. An easy way to fix that is, propane grills use a pressure regulator that can be hooked up to your air compressor. Or, you can simply use a bicycle pump; just pump enough to circulate the smoke. Lastly, I found a DIY video that lists all you'd need and walks you through making your own smoke tester. Cost about $30-50. Hope this helps.
@@Roller76 I'm here to see if anyone used a tire inflator. But I noticed he did say that the smoke machine comes a 1psi regulator, so I'm guessing a tire inflator set to 1psi would be safe.
Since I don’t have a compressor yet I’m guessing I could duct tape a bicycle pump to that machine and get reasonable results. One pound of pressure - no problem - could probably just stick on any kind of hose and blow on it.
So many great reviews on yelp and on RUclips I bought it, this piece of shit won’t warm up ! I swear to God I stayed an hour and tried 2 different car batteries and it wouldn’t warm up. I would give this garbage a fucking negative 5 if I could. Maybe I got a defective one but it was BARELY like warm which obviously didn’t produce smoke anything close to this video !!😡

Why would you block the air filter box? It's not even connected to the intake/engine any more.....
You don’t want anything touching/contaminating your mass airflow sensor other than air. On the opposite end the air filter protects the sensor.

Have a running lean code. This will show if any vacuum hoses are bad (On inspection they all look good), heck even the EVAP system might have a leak.

Does this one spit any amount of oil out of the end with the smoke? I bought the autool with built in pump and pressure gauge.
I just bought the same machine and it's not putting out close to that much smoke and says it's a 0.5psi regulator
You battery is getting week. It should be putting out a good bit of smoke. And the website sais 1 psi regulated
