Ramsgate to Broadstairs along beach (if tides out) is my favourite walk in UK.. To contiue to Margate Is just a bit too long for a retired gent thesedays..I enjoyed this film , living in central London it was a welcome breath of fresh air..
Nice to see the place through somebody else's eyes. I've lived in Ramsgate for over 50 years so I do tend to take the scenery for granted a little, but I frequently remind myself how lovely the coast is. My wife and I often drive all the way around the 'island', stopping in our favourite places to walk our dog. Despite the decline of seaside holidays it's still a lovely place to live :o)
It is beautiful Simon and you’re right we can get so used to our familiar surroundings we can take for granted. We must enjoy where we are every day 👍😄
Thank you for bringing me on this walk! I have fond memories of Broadstairs! I visited here on a school trip for one week, some 51 years ago! We were on that crescent beach every day almost, with the exception of a day trip on the hovercraft to France and a day trip to London. I seem to remember a load of steps to access the beach and the hotel was only a few minutes walk away. The cost of that holiday was £12. Thank you Richard.
Great memories Mally. These walks do bring back a lot of memories of better times. That’s why I love getting out when I can, in a sense making new memories aswell. I often think of people I have been to places with on these walks. There’s a therapeutic side of getting out and about when we can for sure. The pound definitely went a lot further in those days 👍😄
When I visit my parents who live in Ramsgate I go on this walk but instead of going past the light house I go in front of all the large houses at the seafront only cyclists and walkers go there, I love the way there are cabbage fields and the sea is behind them view wise. Enjoyed the video brings back good memories.
Thanks Melanie - I must try that other route next time. I just followed my best guess as to where the footpath went. It’s true walks can bring back many memories 👍😄
Thanks for this. My happiest days were walking my 2 dogs on the beach from Ramsgate to Dumpton Gap (Broadstairs). Was wonderful to see it again and has inspired me to get to Ramsgate and do the walk again👍
I really enjoyed your walk. I live in Canterbury and have visited these places many times. I do not get out much now so this was a real treat for me.. I wish you lots of good health so you can have many more trips.
Lovely walk Richard. A good hearty breakfast to start your day tripper adventure too. Kings gate bay looks stunning. A very nice coastal path too. Margate certainly looks a lot different to when it featured on ‘The Jolly Boys Outing’ episode of Only Fools and Horses 😆
Hi Anthony - yes Margate is not my favourite place it’s a bit run down like many of these old seaside towns. Maybe it may improve if less people fly off to Tenerife. I’ll check out that Only Fools episode going back a bit now.. 😄
Have you tried the cool dudes walking club on youtube with Marek Larwood. He films mostly on the isle of wight and his style is similar to yours. Keep up the good work! 🙂👍
Wonderful video. I am from Belfast but now in Spain for 19 years after 21 years in South England. In the 80s and 90s Ilived in West London and our flatmate was from Margate and his father owned the model village somewhere near there. He is now a model maker in Norway. If you ever fancy a trip to make a video in Murcia where my family are let me know.
Thanks for sharing Colin. I’d love to visit sometime. I spent over 3 months in Tenerife last winter. Would like to do again but have to go to the office nowadays 👍
I did the Margate to Broadstairs walk a couple of years ago, i seem to remember it took me into a very exclusive looking housing estate, so god knows what wrong path i took 😅😅 Lovely vid tho, i do miss the coast!
Thanks - there was a natural sea pool just outside Ramsgate which you can see at 10:53 in the last couple of minutes from the end of the video, you could try if you are feeling really brave 👍
Great video, I’m Canadian stealth camper and I love your work. Hope my channel does well as yours. Also I just subscribed. Agree with you about getting out and about

A perfect day for a perfect walk. Wish I lived closer to the coast.
Yes it was thanks Richard - one hour on the train for me but well worth the effort on a sunny day 👍

That wetherspoons is the biggest one in the country and you're right; breakfast there on a warm summer's day, overlooking the beach, is lovely.
It is a nice surprise and nothing else really on the sea front so they do well

Nice walk, enjoyed the video. Those chalk cliffs are impressive.
It’s always good to get out even if no time for camping. I did n’t expect to walk on the beach under those cliffs it was great 👍

Nice video, I must have done this walk a dozen times (Kent boy myself) the beaches are some of the best in the southeast
They are great walks and even better being on our doorstep 👍
Always good to see Kent at it's best. Shame about the sea at the moment ☹. Thanks Richard.
I did n’t know that Grant - but I know many water companies have taken liberties since lockdown and reduction in enforcement officers
Thank you for an inspiration video..need to do here (Singapore)sometimes
Thanks more limited in Singapore but must be some nice walks 👍🇬🇧😄

Heading to the uk this weekend. The Kent coast is on this trips list of outings. Is the walking paths well marked?
Yes on the coast it’s east
