The way you mentioned adaptive training truly resonates my relatively new (4 years) marathon journey. As much as I love to run a BQ, it seems a bit far fetched at this juncture in my life. The higher risk of injuries has become too real to me at 50+. Making constant adjustments to training load helps avoid beating up my body. I am taking it slow training for the Toronto Waterfront Marathon in October. I hope you too are enjoying your runs leading up to Chicago.
You can definitely BQ at 50+. I'm 61 and just ran 3:08. I'm nothing special, not an athlete. Just started running at age 54 and have been very consistent for years. Boston was my 5th marathon! You've got this! Stay healthy, just keep stacking the miles!
Baby steps, Tim. Trust the training. You'll get there.
¡¡¡¡¡¡Well done, Tim!!!!!. Take care always. Like from Spain. Cheers.
Good work Tim. I'll see you at the Chicago Marathon!
You can sync your grarmin app with strava to automatically upload data.
So glad to see you back at it!
