- Welcome to a new season of Marathon Training in Kenya with Luis Orta! This year we bring you a ton of great new content from the Home of Champions: Iten, Kenya! In this season, we meet up with some of the huge groups that train together in Iten, joining them on long runs, medium long runs, fartleks, track workouts, easy runs, and more! We have some special guests, including Olympic medalist Paul Chelimo who was born and raised in Iten.
In this episode we vet our group of pacers to see where they are at, whether they’ll make the cut to help Luis for his training. We also start the trip off with a group of athletes we gathered from around the world for a Kenyan training experience of their own. We spent a week together exploring, learning, bonding, and of course training with the Kenyans. In the future we’ll be dropping an episode to recap their experience, but for now, we’re going to focus on Luis’s training. If you’re interested in joining us in Kenya for a life changing experience, please visit runningmecca.com for more information or to sign up for the next camp!
Thanks for watching!

when i heard him say 3min/km is VERY RELAXED i almost fainted
😂 I feel you
hahah
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
Pace 3 is super fast man... it like sprinting to me..
Nothing like training with the most gifted athletes in the world. Big up to Kenyan brothers and sisters.
They are amazing!
They’re incredible, not just incredible runners but incredible people!
Wow, these guys are in extremely good shapes or looking more on the skinny side. They all have very long legs which is good for running.
Some of the….
We'll start with an easy 1km @ 3.00. These guys are ANOTHER LEVEL
This is slightly faster than 30:00 10k pace.
My brain can understand why it would be an easy 1km for those guys but my body can't 😄
Needs to be a Netflix show! This is amazing Luis
That would be crazy!! One day 🤩 thanks bro
That would be so cool!
Agree mate.. this is top quality stuff
@@ortaluis I hope you're working on making an in depth documentary that Netflix is interested in. Go deeper inside the personal lives of some of the runners and their lifestyles. The door is open. God Bless.
This video is SO impressive. It was such a smart idea to record a series like this, and it looks like you worked so hard to make it a professional documentary. I would love to see you team up with someone like Netflix to give it even more leverage and scale! Well done! :)
Thanks for your words Paul that means a lot! That would be a dream to do something like that eventually!
Thank you so much Paul! It would be incredible to make it to Netflix someday! Definitely a goal of ours! Thank you for watching!
You can write it again. Man!
As a runner, this is just pure art! Like a F1 team, this is the best in the world - amazing content... And "Very easy 1 km. ... 2.55" :D
I'm just a hobby runner but seeing the pros do it just makes it even more awesome. The amount of work and dedication.
Thank you for your support! It's a lot of work but very worth it
Same. I love running, and it comes pretty natural to me, but im like 1/10th as fast as these guys!!
Kenya is so damn impressive. Training there seems to be way beyond. Cudos to them!
It's the most amazing adventure
The one thing that always stands out to me in these videos are the SMILES. They run with such joy.
True, they are happy people and I love that
They are in my hometown, Iten. Fantastic weather, stunning landscapes and best place to live.
You are totally right 🙏
Amazing indeed..as a former Olympic weightlifter i always felt a great respect for this marathon runners.....nice video..👍👍
This is as close as it gets to being super human…. These gentleman are the most amazing runners this world has
They really are super gifted, and amazing runners 🙏
@@ortaluisbullshit,they have free access to doping....
The biggest cheaters of all times.....
This is awesome content Luis! I especially love watching the gait of the Kenyan runners.
They are super gifted runners :)
Love from india...🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
Respect for my favourite the kipchoge❤️ and other top athletes.
Thank you, yes! 🙌
So smooth! All of those strides look effortless. Beautiful.
Thank you🙏
Thank you for bringing us to the front row of unprecedented elite kenyan/venezuelan running. These series will elevate the masses. Love to the kenyan people! ❤
Thank you for your feedback! It means a lot.
Just re-watched Orta run Berlin 2023. What an incredible group of elite athletes .
Thanks 🙏🙏🙏
Im south African and i will say that Africans are friendly right through im not being biased but honest. I love your video Nate COLLABORATION WILL END RACISM.❤
Man!!! I’ve been refreshing my RUclips page all morning waiting for this one ☝️
Thank you so much means the world to us 🙌🏻
🙏🏼🙏🏼
This video was really good. And it saddens me to hear about the story of this stadium. It’s really a shame that our government has never built a proper stadium in this region ever since, and even the one under construction is still pending! But when they win the medals they rejoice like they ever contributed in anything! So sad indeed!
Thanks for watching! Hopefully it’s finished sometime soon! 🤞🏻
Those locals are just wonderful! Full of smiles and very friendly. Kenya is definitely a Mecca for runners..
Most definitely Thank you for watching
Nothing but respect for Kenya and it’s amazing Athletes, a true gift
Thank you 🙏
As a district champ who won’t be running in college it has been tuff to loose this part of my life. These videos help to remind me why I ran and give me motivation to run in the future even though I won’t be competing for anything.
We love inspiring you and being able to share our passion
Thank you so much for putting up the name of Venezuela, Luis. Thank you very much for your time and hard work.
Thank you for following!
I love running... I want to be at this type of place in my life🙏❤️
Hope you can join us someday!
Sin palabras Luis, necesitaba que volvieras cn este contenido nuevamente.. me emociona ver a los keniatas, sin palabras 👏👏
Gracias! La verdad son lo mejor
Thank for sharing this!! Recently got into running like 3mo ago been running everyday and absolutely love it!!! This video is a dream!! Kenya looks so cool and the people!!
It is!! Thank you for watching
It is my dream to run even one minute with the Kenyans in Iten on a dirt road.
I’ve added some of what they do into my own training and it produces great results but it’s the toughest workout I’ve ever done in my life.
Wish list.
@@williamhenry5339 they are created differently those guys esp when you get to run uphill with them they have high drought power.😭 Wanna get there just to watch them live🤝🏾😛
@@kudzanaichiwara9140 I agree totally. We’re all made different, to run like that you have start from your youth and be committed and dedicated. Something most of us lack. To them this is a lifestyle..
You're welcome brother.
I have always wanted to run marathons and I am currently in Kenya for a mission project. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thats great ....
What are you doing exactly? Exchanging food for religion. Leave Africa alone
Worse. They are exchanging guns for World Bank rankings in the name of fighting terrorists or whatever word they have coined to describe the next place they want to raid. Shame. 😠 😡
What mission 🤔
Marathon running will never seize to amaze me ❤
Agreed! it's an art. Thank you for watching
Love your content! I do running just as extra cardio (I'm a competetive dancer) but it's always exciting, watching runners as good as you!
Thank you so much and good luck with your craft!!
They are so humble God bless them ❤️
Excelente Luis desde todos los aspectos y que ahora incluyas a los corredores Recreativos es muy noble de tu parte. Te deseo que sigas teniendo mucho éxito.

Proudly 🇰🇪
Great video! It is with great pleasure that I watch those videos which allow me to be among the best in the worlds virtually. Every one of those runners are so fast to me it is interesting to have the coach comenting that half those runners are not in good shape. Please keep producing those videos as they are so much fun to listen to.
Thanks for watching! 🙏🙏🙏
Great, I was waiting that !

Why is this not a NetFlix show? First time of hearing of this Luis Orta… He’s got a bright future.

Government should consider spending and investing on all sports... Kamariny stadium in iten should be completed to offer the local and international athletes the ambient environment for training

Love from India ❤
Thank you for all your work, I loved season 1 and season 2 is beginning great !
I like the quality of video and the structure of the episods. It's interesting to see your workout and the way you live in kenya with kenyans. Even if I'm just amateur runner, now I'm sure, one day I want to take part in a training camp there.
Besides, I love running and I need to improve my english speaking. So your serie permit me to leastening and reading english with subtitles.
Hope there'll had third season !

Seems like there's one guy missing from last season,, the fast tall guy🤔
Yes Rainbow! He signed with asics and it’s training in a asics camp! He will be in a couple episodes so wait for him!!
I, too, like to run my "easy" kms at around 3min/km.
Joking, of course. These guys are beasts!

Our pleasure!
I like listening to video wile doing my work but now I can't keep my eyes away🥰🥰I love this
Thank you for watching and for your feedback!
To be so lean yet so strong... More impressive to me than big bodybuilders who can barely walk let alone throw down on a track like this. True strength right here. Running is so hard on the body and like they say only iron sharpens iron
True - gotta keep working hard
Beautiful video!
Thank you, appreciate it!
The light is always beautiful
Thank you
amazing Luis :D
❤️❤️
I really love to see such workouts there are so driven with team spirit. 💪 Let's have more from you to inspire the running family I do all middle distance including 800m with a 53s on flat 400 to feature on non elite 400m relays
That’s amazing congrats!
