  • Today we are covering another quick video on the Vaillant F75 Or F22 Fault Code and How To Top System Pressure Up On A Boiler. I do believe this task should be known by all homeowners, as low pressure can cost you a nasty callout for an engineer to simply put pressure into your system. Easy money.

    Thank you Dan. This happens to my boiler many times and I am a disabled person and need the heating on, when I call the council I get either it is not an emergency or the fella dies something which makes the boiler even worse. So I thank you from the bottom of 💙

    Great video. I've got a Valiant 615 and it gave me am F75 error when the pressure seemed to be in range. I topped it up a little anyway and the problem was sorted which save me a few quid.

    Excellent. Enabled me to fix the low pressure. Key bit of information: Refill valves are not directly on the boiler. Shame this isn't mentioned in the Vaillant manual. Thanks Dan!

    Thank you for your video! We have a recurring F75 error (Ecotec plus 831) which can only be fixed for a short time by opening the valves. There is no evidence for water leakage. What could the fault be?

    Hi Dan can you please explain what the difference is between a system boiler and combi. I always thought there where only conventional or combinations but I am obviously wrong.

    • @DoItAllDan
      @DoItAllDan  3 года назад +1

      A conventional boiler has two pipes coming off to the airing cupboard where a valve will be and a cylinder. A system boiler has 4 pipes and a cylinder and a combination boiler has no cylinder with direct heating of hot water to your taps 👍🏻

    Hey Dan, excellent vid to assist diyers!👍 I have a valiant combi, similar to the one you worked on, but it only has one recessed flat head valve that I need to use a screwdriver to open/close to pressure up the system. It does lose pressure v slowly, so I'm wondering if I've missed another valve? Removed one of the rads currently, as I'm painting kitchen, and drip from the union valve side (ordered cap after watching your other vid!🤣) so possibly that, but can't check till it's back in place. Previously I've replaced the analogue clock/timer mech, so I'm ok with a spanner & screwdrivers! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    • @DoItAllDan
      @DoItAllDan  4 года назад +1

      Hi Daniel, the weeping on the rad valve will definitely be contributing to the pressure loss and to say it's happening over a long period makes sense. I would replace the part as you have ordered and also Pressure loss may be caused from a leak in the (PRV)pressure relief valve, a problem with the expansion vessel, air in your system, or a leak in the pipework itself. So of that doesn't solve the issue you may need to turn detective😂 let me know how u get on. Thank you for the support

    • @danielcookeb90
      @danielcookeb90 4 года назад

      @@DoItAllDan thank Dan, had to laugh! Used to be a Detective many years ago!🤣🤣
      I'll try locating the PRV. If the PRV was playing up, that would mean the overflow would show signs of water escape, no? Or would that only be on the 'high pressure ' side. If it was failing that would mean loss of pressure, so replacing it might mean it holds the pressure? I have noticed the system "kicking in" more often, when no demand on the system (hot water or heating). The flue is below the bedroom window, and it woke me up one night, and I woke, went to investigate, but it switched off very shortly after kicking in. Let me know if that symptom tells you anything. I've owned the house about 8 years, no pipe leaks in that time.👍👍

    • @DoItAllDan
      @DoItAllDan  4 года назад +1

      Haha well you have no excuse to Turn detective😂 the PRV will terminate usually directly outside on the wall or sometimes internally normally exits on the far right of the boiler underneath (just a guideline) on the outside wall or on termination run your finger around the end of the pipe try to get your skin inside of u can and see if it's wet, if so it's failed. Make sure not to do this when damp or raining it may throw u off. As for the on and off sequence of this is happening more and more it's called short cycling and can indicate a fault, without looking it's really hard to say but if u have noticed it getting worse I would get it looked at as it could be several things. Hope this helps

      @@DoItAllDan let you know how it goes. Rad back on and pressure up to 1.2bar. Heading out with dogs for an hour. Dried off the union and valve side. And put heat on low for an hour. We'll see if wet or leaks when we get back!!! Thanks again fella. Not sure I'm up to servicing it, there may be too much school time!! But would love to drain the system, flush it through several times and get some inhibitor in there! Let you know how the pressure test goes!
      As a guide, what level of pressure drop occurs from a small leak, say a slow drip, every second or so, over an hour? Would the system "see" that drop, or would it take a lot longer? Given the pressures are only 1-2bar, it's not a great deal?

    • @DoItAllDan
      @DoItAllDan  4 года назад

      Nice one Daniel, as for the noticeable pressure drop it would depend entirely on the system you have I’m afraid size, pipe work and many other factors. Just monitor it it might be worth wrapping some loo roll round the joint. Just roll it into a snake and tie it off then if it’s wet after an hour or so you know there’s a leak👍🏻 thanks mate

    Thank you very much for this fantastic video. I have this exact boiler. I have raised the pressure but the boiler humms and stops humms again and doesn't provide hot water or heating. Still has F75 error please any advise?

    • @DoItAllDan
      @DoItAllDan  2 года назад +1

      Hi, if after you have raised the pressure to the correct level and you're still seeing f75 then it could mean the boiler isn't sensing the pressure rise so your issue could be a sensor fault or something more. I recommend getting a qualified engineer to take a look.

    My 832 had low pressure and F75 fault with presssure at 1.8. Raised it a little and it now works (still at 1.8). Hidden under the front cover is a mechanical meter as in your 615. It was very low. Now in the middle of the grey area and pressure shows 2.2. All is well but I suspect the sensor may be faulty to give me the F75. Is the digital and round meter the same presssure?

    • @DoItAllDan
      @DoItAllDan  3 года назад

      I would be very suspect, test the sensor to see what readings are there if you need to get an engineer in then so be it I'm afraid, depending on the gauges locations they may be slightly different but it shouldn't be too much, 2.2 is too high at cold though. Thank you

    • @wilwordsworth
      @wilwordsworth 3 года назад

      @@DoItAllDan Yes you are right it goes to 2.9 when working. I'll bleed the system before getting someone in. Not sure how to test the sensor; except by replacing it with a new one. It is 2 years old and I've heard gossip that they can fail after that time. Thank You.

    Using the “perfect situation” on the combi isnt realistic, being two white levers, sometimes its a black key and other times the flathead comes out! but the theory is perfectly explained! 👍

    Hi Dan, I tried this on my combi boiler EcoPlus 831 by increasing the pressure through the filling loop, but it won't go higher than 1.1 It was an F22 fault. I can't get an engineer out until Monday, any other advice please? Thank you.
