Yeah, it may be an a genuine olive branch, but there's definitely a threat behind it. And honestly, the Foundation can't just assume that they really do forgive us and aren't just trying to manipulate us into giving them power. We should either contain and isolate and maybe give them a new planet, or... maybe go all GOC on their asses. Sometimes, the Global Occult Coalition is right.
@MARCELO Compassion can be as much a bias as hatred. All it takes is an enemy who is good at relating and putting up a face to lower your guard and strike.
I think they deserve another place/dimension to live in peace. Or direct their revenge towards the humans there, idk. It wasn't the current humans that killed them, so it's not current humanity's fault. So you can't expect current humans to suffer for that. But they could at least give a helping hand without taking risks.

The lore about SCP-1000 is pretty interesting because to think that there existed a society which was far more advanced and intelligent then our civilization
I mean, there were (depending on your canon) several; the Homo Nocturnis (SCP-1000), the Fey (who may have been the ones who helped us depose them), pre-human Mekhanites, Daevites, aliens, humans before the Pattern Screamer apocalypse, the Pattern Screamers themselves.... fucking rabbit hole, man.

This is one of the scariest scp's because their the other side to humanity by being nocturnal as well as being as smart as us having equal acsess as far as I'm aware to the psycho space also the only reason we usurped them was because of the help from some God. Also their current messaging " We forgive you given choice for now not forever let us back in" which is horrifying because they could win against us because their stronger than us and more advanced with their organic technology they had while we were using basic tools like spears.

There are plenty of SCPs based off of pre-existing legends.
Tons of scps are inspired or literally Tell a Legend/myth in A Hidden way, it's taking a largely unexplained thing into another world wich makes us unknowingly have a deeper connection into scp universe, making it feel more "real" the it should

One detail kind of glossed over in this. We were to them, what chimps are to us. An oddity and an interesting thing, but like us, they threatened habitats, and created some pretty horrific weapons. It also kind of misleads with their tech. It was biotech, like grown things. Heck, one of their creations is literally a tree golem thing.
I like that the original author included the biotech to explain why archaeologists haven’t found any evidence that the Bigfoot civilization existed

They should do an episode on Gorefield. It isn’t technically an SCP, but like Slender, Rake, J the Killer, and Siren Head, he has and SCP page.
A little Info: Gorefield is a form of Garfield the Cat, but instead of becoming popular he was canceled. He grew angry and became real, and went on a mission to destroy everyone and everything that dislikes Garfield, including the creators. He can shapeshift and is literally immortal as long as any part of the body, even fur, is there. He chooses terrifying forms, and is most notably known for “I require Lasagne, John”. The story often changes though.
Just look up and watch “Garfield Gameboy’d” and you will never sleep again.

If I remember well, in the original version of the scp, their intent sure wasn't nice nor were their origins. Like they weren't seeking to live with humanity, but retake their spot at the top and there was also that other scp I can't remember the name of that was basically another universe where they never were exterminated, ruling over the world in a overall reasonable numbers but very secluded and divided, with different subspecies ruling over different part of the world and warring one another constantly, with the few humans still alive treated as cattle because they had no problem with eating the flesh of sentient being.
I heard a few years back there was lot of retcon and articles modified for whatever reason, I guess this scp one of them, because I definitely remember reading about them and the reasoning behind the SCP foundation actions, while morally questionable and unethical, were in fact ultimately warranted because they knew their ultimate intent wasn't one of peaceful cohabitation. Like the communicated message in the end was more along the line of ''we are patient, you will forget us, we shall not''

I don't know what's worse. The fact that the best way to prevent this kind of uprising is to integrate them since that's what caused us to dethrone them, or the fact that Humans being too arrogant to realise that makes this even more realistic.
As much as I love the story, there are two plot holes:
A) if we don’t remember the revolt that destroyed their civilization, they sure as hell won’t either.
B) destroying their cities would be unnecessary, unless they were made out of materials very resistant to wear and corrosion. If we were to suffer a complete societal collapse, it is highly doubtful that much, if any signs on our high-tech civilization would last 10,000 years for any future civilizations to excavate, unless designed to last. In this context, monuments like the Great Pyramids could conceivably have been built by civilizations far older than the Egyptians for example, with signs of corrosion pointing to a time when Egypt was much wetter.
C) as tragic as this history might be, keeping it classified could doom humans or SCP-1000/Sasquatch to repeat history.
D) the myth of Atlantis should be mixed in here somewhere. The theme matches with the story of a highly advanced civilization that in its arrogance, was punished by the Gods, and was destroyed in a single day and night.
I think the trickster god was Mekhane. The reason is that he is a mechanical deity, and the sasquatch's technology was purely organic, which completely enraged him. So, he gave some humans access to their bioweapons and watched the carnage unfold.
