- Japan has 6,852 islands. Around 430 are inhabited, but that number grows fewer each year. ⛩️ We sail out into the Sea of Japan to spend 48 hours on Tobishima Island in search of long lost 8th century treasure armed with questionable equipment.

NOTIFICATION SQUAD: Natsuki's bought some new pirates pants and he's certainly put them to good use. WHERE would you like to see us explore next?
We hope you enjoyed this short escape with us!
It was certainly a bizarre trip, but amidst the cats, the spiders and the treasure, I hope we were able to do the island justice. Would never want to live there, but we had a blast exploring the hidden beaches, coves and caves, living out my childhood dreams of being a pirate. Quality content.
Hello

Natsuki: lonely boy 🤣
Which is funny, because this is literally how he got Natsuki in the first place
Chris is such a British adventurer and I love it. Willing to go anywhere, but also incredibly afraid of any sort of heights, bugs, danger, wild animals, and ghosts.
Also whinging the whole time but still having fun.

And don't Forget He also Afraid Of Natsuki's Wraith Remember 🤣🤣🤣

But at least I can ride a horse
Seeing how smooth Natsuki is in Japanese really makes me appreciate how much effort he puts into English for the viewers. Takes a lot of courage & perseverance to keep working at this language, and Chris obviously has no trouble understanding his Japanese, so he's just doing it for us.
And Chris is also very obviously not making him speak more English either which makes me appreciate Natsukis efforts even more. I feel like his English has gotten a lot better too, I don't need the subtitles most of the time anymore or maybe I just got used to the way he speaks it now. Could be either honestly because the same has happened before with foreigners speaking my native language not so fluently but I learned their patterns.
I love how they just switch up languages like Chris can come up and Japanese and natsuki replies in English
@@The-Anti That's just how it is when you and someone speak several languages. I have a close friend, and we both speak Malay, English, Chinese and Japanese, and anyone listening to our conversation is confirmed to have a headache, and possibly an aneurysm. We just keep switching between them by what we feel, no real reason behind it. Can we stick to one language? Sure. Are we going to? Nah.
I love how Natsuki is just so committed to being a pirate looking how he has fixed his snapped sword the next day
love how he looks through the monocular with his patched eye 🤣
Chris's sarcasm and natuki's optimism is pinnacle friendship and we love to see it

Does Chris drink more (alcohol) when Natsuki is around?
Exactly😊👌
@Taiga I never realized how badly I understood sarcasm until I hung out with British military tbh.
Chris beatboxing to Natsuki hitting the bike bell was a really nice little moment between the two of them. They enjoy each other's company and friendship, glad we can see their adventures together.

You just gave me the mental image of Natsuki running around pants-less the whole time... Thanks. lol
Love how they come across an abandoned temple (which is a pinnacle of Japanese urban legends and modern ghost stories) - and make no fuss about it.
I know right??? Here's me getting Fatal Frame flashbacks but they're joking about
Easy to do so when you are an atheist tbh.
I wanted them to get a shot through the window of the temple, it looked pretty cool from the outside. I'm a big sucker for abandoned buildings. just finding an abandoned temple out on an overgrown island seems pretty exciting to me.
@@michelenintricepsi6529 or just a logical minded individual who probably is over the age of 5
Would love to see it restored and the cost cleaned up. Would enjoy living there.
The thing I really like about Natsuki is that he CONSTANTLY and EFFORTLESSLY grinds stereotypes under his heel. A Japanese person who doesn't like seafood, is willing to use his limited English without fear, will splash his personality all over the landscape. Bonus points: a very masculine hairdresser.
Natsuki the Man, is truly one of a kind.
That's exactly what I thought when it was mentioned he doesn't like seafood!
Now that you mention it, you're so right!
He's one of the peculiar ones on Japanese standards
A real mans man.
Is this the Journey Across Japan: The Lost Islands OVA?
The lost episode
😂😂
I LOVE THIS 💀💀💀
This is definitely the Beach episode 😂😂😂
Journey Across Japan: the search for the lost Pants!
That temple looks like the starting point of some shounen anime. Kid moves to the island w his fishing parents, all grumpy about moving to what seems like the middle of nowhere with nothing to do. Kid learns about the pirate history of the island and decides to go treasure hunting, but a storm hits while he’s on the beach and he takes shelter in the old abandoned shrine. Inside he hears strange noises and goes to investigate, and finds the ghost of some famous, notorious pirate and they have incredible supernatural pirate adventures!
You could just write that. Sounds good to me!
sounds like fun!
Is the ghost pirate named “Dread Pirate Natsuki”?
Sounds like a one piece one off
This sounds awesome. I’d watch the hell out of that.

The image of our times: Natsuki, dressed as a pirate, singing the SuperMario theme while seeking treasure in an underground cave. The Dawn of Enlightenment.
I love how Natsuki said that Chris doesn’t have balls with the metal detector. A word for testicles in Japanese is kintama which mean golden balls so waving it in front of Natsuki’s junk made it go off. Just for some people who might have been confused with the Japanese joke
Thanks for the explanation
thanks for the tip !
dang I new the word but didn't catch it, thanks!
That metal detector is not reliable. Next time I want some real proof of Chris not having any balls. You know what they say: "Seeing is believing" 😉

And then the waku ghosts show up...
I’m part Japanese and I used to live in Japan and I don’t know anyone Japanese who dislikes seafood. Further proof that Natsuki is an absolute one of a kind anomaly of a man. God bless him.
We took my 3 1/2 yo to Japan, and he would happily eat a whole grilled mackerel at restaurants. Strangers would come up and praise our parenting skills, like we had somehow taught him to eat prodigious quantities of fish.
There's something beautiful about Natsuki's childlike nature. It makes you want to live life and appreciate it.
@free sexy albums in my channel No, this is Patrick.

Chris and Natsuki's friendship is like the most wholesome thing on RUclips. Absolute legends.
As a non native speaker, I always get confused between the words “dessert” and “desert”, so I was expecting an island full of ice cream, cakes and puddings!
Hey! A nice trick for telling them apart is that dessert like with ice cream has more than one s because when you eat dessert you always want more. And then deserts are quite empty so there’s only one s.
Glad I'm not the only one. Though I think deserted would be more correct here? Because of the lack of sand, it's not a proper desert, but it is rather deserted (lonely). But, I'm not native English, I might be wrong about it!
@@JackyCola92 I'm a native English speaker and I'm honestly a bit confused by the title. I think he may have misspelled it. I think he might have meant deserted instead. It definitely didn't have any sand to be called a desert and I was disappointed that there was no ice cream or cake to be seen, so definitely no dessert either. I mean, I wish there was an island just full of desserts; That sounds like paradise! lol
Desert also means to abandon someone or something. You don't realise how illogical and confusing your own language is until you try and learn a different one.
@@JackyCola92 Deserted is correct but for islands specifically, you can also say desert island.

Chris those drone shots are absolutely insane! What a stunning view!
Honestly this blew me away. How you're not sponsored and rolling in bank for your production is beyond me. Also Natsuki was a bad ass for wearing that pirate outfit in public
His channel has grown a lot and gets a lot of praise. But I think he deserves some contract with a Japanese or British network to do a documentary series
He may not be sponsored but he is rolling in bank, even with low price patreon rewards being all he offers he must be making over 200k USD a year. There is a reason why he can afford monthly trips and thousands of dollars of video equipment.
