I'm not sure how transferring save data would even work between systems, like if you played FFVII Remake on PS4, then bought a PS5. Cloud upload saves or USB I guess.
I was waiting to see if my levels and build would carry between games BEFORE I'd decide to ever play the remake.
If they don't use our stats, I won't play it. A RPG is YOUR game. Not standard stats every new part... I boycott this. I'm a Finalfantasy player since 1990. They are dumb and should have worked the levels and stats and builds to get them for the levels... WTF SQUARE !

Is it confirmed that you have to complete both FF7 Remake and Intergrade to receive the bonuses, or do you simply need to just have a save file of each on your PS5?

I played the original and just got into remake now in preparation of rebirth but to my dismay and my bubble being busted that I found out that I won't even be able.to.carry over the data to the new game???..ngl I now lost enthusiasm
I'm disappointed in the route they took. I think the dot hack games did it best where there was just a 50 lvl cap,the next game was 100 lvl cap,the 3rd was 150 lvl cap. You carried over all items and all stats and enemies would start buffed around those levels with additional new gear available so it still felt like you're level 1 and not overpowered but you didn't feel like it was a waste of time playing through the games in order either and if you didn't have save data from the prior games you just started off at a higher level with okay gear and not nearly the same money. I wish more games did it like that for sequels lol
I never played those games but that’s exactly how i thought SE would tackle data transfer with these FF7 games. I super bummed especially cuz i remember how much of a labor it was to get gotterdammerung… i was stoked to bring that over to rebirth, and i thought the choices of who you spoke to in aerith’s garden in that one scene or who you woke up first would affect their relationships in some way.

seems really tough to balance, it would be annoying if a new playthrough was less fun because the game was tuned for somebody else. I also played remake on PC and will be playing rebirth on PS5.
And also if the game was tuned for people without all the materia and gear.... it would just be too easy for anybody that transfered over. (Like dot hack)

@@Shiftarus It's really not that hard to balance. Dynamic enemy level scaling exists, so they could just have let the enemies have a level relative to the average starting level of the party rather than a fixed one.
Good to have some news on this title finally. On another note, if you got time to come back to it sometime, would love to see you bring a close to your Star Ocean 4 guide.
I like when SE has saved data extras for different games in a series, like XV's Platinum demo (you got some Carbuncle thing for completing the demo, iirc) and the XIII series had little bonuses if you finished previous games or demos. I think you get a special garb in LR for having completed XIII and XIII-2. Not a huge deal either way for me, but a nice touch when they actually do it.

We will still be able to get the summons on rebirth right? I don’t buy DLC so I’ve not played intergrade.
I think they could have easily rebalanaced the game and let us carry over all progress. Maybe have a system with current elemental materia to combine two mastered of the same type into a stonger evolution of the elemental type. ie mastered ice + mastered ice = Ice 2 materia

And how would they have done that as they would need to do it for new and old players, also how do you balanc around people with max stats and gear...it was never gonna happen.

Just like Xenosaga, save data from a previous one got you swimsuits for certain characters that increase exp, and a bunch of AP at the start. I like it
This news made me happy! I lost my data so I'm glad I can start the second part with a fresh start😃
As someone who loves grinding to be God level, it's sort of a punch in the gut to know I did it for nothing. Time to start the grind all over.
Hopefully these summons aren't locked behind previous entry completion and are just early access unlocks as a perk.

Does anyone know if you still get the save data bonuses if you get the disc version rather than the digital version
So in the first VII remake the level cap won’t go passed 50 if you order part 2?
This makes sense but I hope they handle it similarly to how Jedi Fallen Order was handled. Give everyone a slightly more powerful starting character than what you would normally expect in a game like this, so we aren’t completely reset, and still give us plenty of room to grow in other areas. Because no matter the reason (you have amnesia, you got really bad mythril poisoning, Zach is alive now), resetting a PC to zero is torture for a lot of gamers.
your character will still start with lots of abilities, but the point is that players who don't transfer shouldn't be missing those abilities.
That's a bummer. I was thinking about booting it back up to get to level 50 but no point now. Not doing that for a simple trophy.
Hard mode playthrough is really fun, not being able to use items completely changes how the combat flows ... and honestly it makes every ability and fight way more interesting. It would also be a perfect way to refresh your memory and get ready for rebirth.
It's ok fuzz as long as we get dlcs for playing remake and intermission and as long as ALL dlcs eventually come up for download I personally don't mind I don't have to start the game with extra progression stats I'm perfectly fine playing through the new game and building up my levels from scratch actually it's more fun and challenging that way and it makes you feel you are challenging a brand new game

What if I played FFVII Remake (TC/SC/KR ver) and decide to play FFVII Rebirth (JP/EN ver), can I still get the Leviathan and Ramuh

That is super lame I put 100hrs plus on final fantasy 7 part 1 and all I get is to summons get out of here. I played final fantasy back in the day on the PlayStation and it never made me go into the second part with nothing
I played the PC version and thought about buying the PS5 version now that I have one; however, since those two summons are tied to a cleared save file, I will just wait for the game to come out on PC.
Arrh yeah that’s a bummer but was expected just glad we getting the game and a little extra with all the panic around square losing money.
They really need rebirth to do well from a financial standpoint. I believe it will do well., as Even though disappointed by the lack to data carry over, I am still going to play it. Heck, I'll probably max all my stuff again, even though it wont carry over to the next.
I just am worried that I’m going to be recollecting all the same weapons over and over again, the trailers showing yhe mythril stinger has me worried that I’m going to literally just grab the same shit over and over again

Still not sure why they just could't level us back to level 1 all materia back to 1 star and remove everything that is not in game or keep the items as unique meaning your previous playthrough isn't wasted (other then memories). This was such a giant slap in the face. They talk about balance and then just give you those summons... LIKE TF
Fuzz did u see the end of ff7r rebirth of 3 months instead of 6 months. I think square n Microsoft are gonna announce ff7 remake coming to Xbox this year so the Xbox players can catch up n maybe ff7 rebirth will come out along side PC in May 2024
Not transferring save files is completely understandable, however, I will be very disappointed if they don't include the previous Summons other than Leviathan and Ramuh (Ifrit, Fat Chocobo, Choco/Mog, and Bahamut) because Bahamut especially was a pain to get, so starting out with them would be nice. The DLC Summons, Carbuncle for example, though very helpful in sticky situations, aren't necessary. And on another note, I hope Part 3 will have the Master Magic/Command/ and Summon Materia. 1 Materia they might leave out is W-Item, and for those who've played the OG FF7, we all know why. Lol

Stopping the W-item bug is only one hurdle but I bet the rest of the summons at some point will all be available (through gameplay).
They just said you can’t import saves but you expect them to give you a special summon item guessing that you put the extra work in the previous title that’s a “standalone”…….. use some sense.
I know, but for all we know that special summon item could be an item that allows us to use multiple summons during a battle, summon assistance from someone that's not in your party, or summon something we haven't seen yet. Summon means to call upon. The question is, call upon what? In FF terminology, yes it refers to summoning a powerful being, the the entire FF7 Remake Project is a big question mark. Did ANYONE expect having to have Cloud Dance at the Honey Bee Inn? Or how about having to fight some of the summons in order to get them. Anyone know about that before they played the game? You shouldn't assume what that item actually does until you know for sure what it actually does. And the only ways for you to know what it does is if someone who actually knows tells you, or by you playing the game. A lot of people are thinking that Vincent might end up being an AI character like Red XIII was in Remake because they didn't show Vincent fighting. The game is going to be 2 Discs long, the trailer was most likely a small portion of Disc 1. Plus, they don't want to spoil everything cuz if they did, no one would buy the game. My overall point is I am using sense, some common sense, which ironically isn't all that common. Don't assume anything because like I said, the entire FF7 Remake Project is a big question mark. Who knows what anything does. It's possible that it does mean that it allows you to use the summons from Remake, but it's also possible it does something else. You have to think, what are they going to change this time around. Example, OG FF7, Braver was a Limit Break, but in FF7 Remake it was an Ability. You never know till you know, you know?
How can I play final fantasy 7 rebirth demo
I have questions.....
First off, who is playing rebirth without playing remake first?
So remake was not a remake at all, it was a new game using a similar story/characters that stopped after act 1?
How can you start rebirth when the game will start where remake ended?
Will we ever get a final fantasy 7 remake like they promised since now we only got 1/3rd of the game with several hours fluff that no one asked for.
I am glad I didn't play remake now (I had planned on waiting for all 3....before I realised it would be this many years..), I heard it was a good game and it looked beautiful but it wasn't the game I fell in love with
Well then don’t play. Nobody cares. Millions of people will be playing it on release and I’m sure nobody will miss you. Go back to your polygon ff7.
I think at the very least, the story choices made in each game should continue through on the same narrative. The cutscenes in the subsequent games should narratively build on your cutscenes from chapter 14 of remake.
I'm kinda relieved by this because it means relationship values won't carry over. Having to prepare 3 different FF7 Remake saves to make getting the different gold saucer dates would have been a pain.
I am thinking someone will make a mod or something to allow save files to transfer over.

Because it wouldnt make any sense to give you something you didn't have. The entire point is transfering things you earned during the playthrough of remake.
My level carried over somehow. I’m level 40 and just started.

Probably not.. you will start from scratches ... But It is stupid.. To start ff7 with rebirth without finishing the 1st one.. It is like to watch LOTR "Two Towers" and skip the "fellowship of the ring"
@@jarekblaminsky you will not start with them, but will probably be able to earn a lot of stuff by playing. Why would you want to be overpowered at the start of a game and ruin all of the challenge and sense of progression?
I was hoping they could just have a level scale system like FFVIII had so it wouldn't matter what level you came in as, and I figured they could write off most materia by just saying Yuffie steals it and sends it away on a boat. Oh well, is what it is.
i guess it still able to detect the save file from ps4 and still got those bonus
to get the saves on PS5 version you need to have 2 versions of FF7 installed on your console.. If you dont own the old version for PS4... then your saves are useless.
Finally got my first Götterdämmerung, only to find out that Remake and Intermission data do not carry over to Rebirth.
Not so looking forward to the next Final Fantasy 7 Refresh / Renew / Reset / Restart...
i can understand not letting levels roll over but items, materia, weapons, and limit breaks i believe should carry over this however will not discurage me in know way from playing the game i just don't like the idea of loosing my materia from remake
I beat remake on ps4…. SO CAN I just install the ps4 game on my ps5, make a save file… start rebirth & then delete remake after getting the bonuses on rebirth?
You probably found out by now but you also gotta transfer ur data from ur ps4 in settings to the ps5
Mass effect did it well, where you started odf at a slightly higher level. That way your not grinding out the first 5-10 levels. Especially considering I put in over 100 hrs to get the platinum for ff7 remake.
I never once had to grind levels in remake, and I highly doubt you will have to in rebirth. Everything was balanced fine for just playing naturally in order

well it is like watching Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets without seeing the Philisopher stone first..
I get why they did it this way. They would be alienating people who never played Remake, and they would lose sales if they required you to play the original and have a completed save file to continue. But I still think they could have done more than just a summon materia. They should have had the team run into Yuffie in the beginning, and she could steal all of your materia and equipment, so you have to start fresh. But if you DID have a completed save file, then she would give some or all of it back to you near the final chapter, so you could carry over some of your previous progress.
thats a clever idea, but as a person who 100% the last game but cant transfer a save... I would have been ultra annoyed. Also making the game too easy would almost feel like a punishment for playing the original

It doesn't bother me but what I would like is if they would put in cross save transfers for PS5 to PC. I plan to play it on PS5 and then PC but if they don't have cross save then saves uploaded to nexus mods will used instead. I just want an official way.
They definitely could have done it because regardless on if people were starting the game at a higher level or not guess what it's not online play like you're not playing multiplayer with people so who cares if Timmy is 50 levels higher than Billy who just started. This is a fail on their part and could have worked toward it. Honestly don't see the point in playing the first two if I can't level up materia to bring to the final fight like in the original.

Hey Simon. Love your content. That said, and you've been doing this for years, but the company is Square-Enix. Square ceased to exist almost 20 years ago. In fact, we're at a point now where the two companies have been merged longer than they were solo.

I think it's great , because half the fun is when your caracter grows and learn new skills , magic etc . To start from lev 50 would'nt be as fun for me .

Disappointing,for people that haven't downloaded the yuffie intergade of this game, especially now that it's no longer available, that now means Ramuh is inaccessible too, it would have been better if there was an opportunity to acquire it in the game as well for gamers that haven't got the intergrade as a bonus for buying the REBIRTH game too, at least that would mean that you could still have a complete summons collection in your game. Unless I have got the wrong end of the stick, I hope Ramuh is still obtainable in the main game as it was one of my favourite summons.
What do you mean yuffie dlc is no longer available. It’s still on the ps store. Right now

Highly disappointed but I get it because the materia you could get is insane
FF 16 is not an RPG, it is a hack n slash with an ilussion of RPG elements, weapons and armor don't do diddly.. FF 7 remake suffers from the same distinction but the ilussion that your progress mattered from the previous game could have been implemented better at one point, you are going to have all three games at once so why not at least make it sequental? Maybe one day a mod will be implemented to let you carry stuff which isnt overpowered between games. In my opinion the weapon sphere system has been revamped for the synergy mechanic which obsoletes progress in the first game entirely..Summons should have levels and have negative attribtes at this point they are almost purely cosmetic so the Levianthan summon award is simply not enough
Maaaaan I can’t help but be a little disappointed as i 100% remake i maxed out every materia etc literally everything 😩 they could have rebalanced the game in a way that allowed us all to enjoy the game whether we played remake or not but i guess the bonus summons are cool . Meh
Little disappointed, but not to the extent to keep me from playing. A better way to handle it would have been to carry over a lot more, and give players the option of starting with an improved hardmode, where items still work, but enemies have more hit points and do more damage, to add challenge. Then, for first time players, they would get a basic gear and level starter pack.
I think that's an absolute load of rubbish by Square Enix we're doing something like that cos what's the point of levelling up in the part 1 I thought the whole point of the story was to play the game from start to finish what's the point of not being able to do that what is Square Enix thinking about clear not thinking of the players in the og fans 😜😜😜🤪🤪🤪

they will give you 2 music discs extra and a tuft of phoenix down as a bonus for save data from FF7R :D

Dumb that they're limited because those summons should be available to everyone. I don't know what the bonus should be for returning players off the top of my head, but gate keeping two OG FF7 summons is not the way. Plus we all know that square will release them to everyone eventually, which will sting the returning community just a bit.
I’m sure those summons will be available to all players somehow. Personally I don’t mind it. I’ve put a lot of time into FF7 Remake and Intergrade, so a small reward for my efforts is welcome. The trailer was unreal.
That makes me sad all the hard work you put into the game is for nothing .

This is a very stupid decision IMHO, especially considering how we were capped at Lvl 50 on remake.
Hopefully when all 3 games are out on PC it will be modded in.

This is why I won't buy Rebirth and part 3 of the remake trilogy.
Also, some mistakes you made:
1. You do not need save data of a finished game to get the bonus. You just need save data, i. e. you can start Remake, save, and get the bonus without ever finishing Remake.
2. Your comparison with the Final Fantasy XIII series is a false equivalence. Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Lightning Returns are sequels while Rebirth and whatever part 3 will be called are different parts of the same game with the same story and characters (in addition to new characters, of course). The OG Final Fantasy 7 had 3 discs, the remake has 3 parts. Imagine if the OG Final Fantasy 7 reset your party to some arbitrary level and removed everything you've worked for at the beginning of disc 2 and then again at the beginning of disc 3.
For me this is more than disappointing. Definitely less excited.
