I like it, it's adds another layer of suspense when someone pauses right before something crazy is about to happen.

Justin "I have heard this song before.', then proceeds to pause it just before the main belt of the song... And then does it again on the second main belt. 🙁

My god in heaven literally every single reactor to this freaking video can't wait to hear themselves talk. It's an obvious vocal and musical climax, stfu for 5 seconds and take it all in, you ruin everything by pausing. It's an amazing piece of vocal performance and reactors pause in the middle of it every single time.

Since you have seen this before Justin i was really hoping your pausing would be more strategic and not in the middle of of important parts taking away from the emotion Lala would have actually felt

I am particularly touched to see Lala make the emotional connection with the performance. However I was curious how you paused the performance before each key belt. Perhaps Sohyang's excellence simply compelled the reaction. Always love to see emotional context of the experience beyond technical execution. Best wishes to Lala's new song.
I love first time reactors who stop after the first verse and talk about how angelic and light So Hyang's voice is, only to get a facemelting Bb5 mixed belt 20 seconds later. Lala's reaction was so on point, from her observation about the openness of her vowels to the immediate impression of goodness that all the rest of us love most about her. Great reaction and I really hope you do some more of her as I think she does many things that would be great for a young singer to incorporate.
The way she arrange this song makes it so more heartfelt.

The thing is this song has such an emotional, heavy impact on the audience. It's such an important song to Korea, and Sohyang just conveys that perfectly in her voice.

Well.. I feel sorry for you. I think she put narcotic stuff in her voice.I found her few months ago. Now she is public enemy #1 to my wife and my boss. I reccomand her most recent cover song called "Please". Even in outdoor setttng, her pitch is perfect. Peace & health to you.

Sohyang is a living vocal guidebook.
I love how you both were able to relate to the emotion behind the song.
To give a little bit of background, Arirang is considered an "unofficial national anthem" of Korea, its essence and lyrics capture the history of hardships and pain the country has suffered, but at the same time also sings of hope.
When she sings about the lonely island in the East Sea and the rough winds whipping the island and asks, "Dokdo did you hang in there alright last night?", the song is referring to the island Dokdo off the coast of S.Korea which was stolen from the nation among other things during the brutal frame when the Japanese attacked and abused the nation. They omit and censor this part of their history from their education system and and still try to claim the island as theirs, so the song sweetly checks on Dokdo to see if it's doing alright. The song contains sadness, but like you guys noticed it also threads through a glimmering theme of hope, resilience, and togetherness. Hence maybe, why the smile was a relevant addition that stood out to you guys : )

You should read her back-story to fully appreciate how special this singer is. It is appropriate that she is singing next a violin, the instrument that most resembles the human voice, and she is matching that. Well you two are doing way better than me with that no crying thing. That ending was so light and delicate after all that power it was exquisite. it takes so much support to hold that together and yet you get no indication that there is any stress in her whatsoever. Again, you guys are good together. I like that you have your own perspective. Thanks for your reaction.

Smiling while you sing changes the shape of the vowels you produce, which changes your vocal tone and depth. It creates a brighter tone. It's an Italian classical training technique.

Sohyang's "I will always love you" two months ago ruclips.net/video/DO845EqU3eE/видео.html is a master class for young vocalists - breath control, dynamic control, moving through the registers, vowel modification, stylistic choices etc. It's just her sitting and singing perfectly with great emotion to a live audience with minimal accompaniment for broadcast on Korean TV during the lockdown. It's equally mesmerizing as her large scale productions. She astonishes the well known Korean vocalists sharing the stage with her (though not singing with her for this number).
p.s. Thank you for reacting to Faouzia - I've tried to get serious reactors to look at her for years.
Imagine watching this live, as a Korean who knows this song by heart, and knows the significance of it. It’s all about hoping for the reunification of the Korean Peninsula, and being a whole country again... so so meaningful. This rendition by So Hyang is beautiful, I’ve listened to it dozens of times.
Justin and Lala , You guys prove you have a really pure spirit to understand Korean feeling of traditional melody.

You can see some of her amazing performances on Immortal songs 2 she even covers some English songs ❤️ Didn’t notice this was Immortal songs you should watch so of Ali’s performance she is known as the Queen of Immortal songs and BtoB Blue (the vocal line) sings some mind blowing performances on this program and these are all recorded live in front of an audience.

Son Sue-Kyung the violinist either she parachuted down on stage or she's like some sort of Korean ninja (Hwarang). Together with So-Hyang was insane to see and hear. She gave this super overpowering urge to buy a violin a white dress and those high heels and I'm pretty sure I'm 100% heterosexual and a dude.
No she just walked in while the camera was focused on the member so it looks she teleported in stage lol. If you look up the Fancam you'll see her walk in beside sohyang
She and her best friend/piano accompanist, Janine, were waiting offstage for their cue. When the cue was given, Sue-Kyung knocked out Janine's knees with a baseball bat, and scampered on to the stage by herself to assume the role of the, now, sole featured artist, rather than the originally scheduled featured artist duet.

So she decided to sing Classical. W O W!!!! She sings "NELLA FANTASIA" Please, please check her out!! She uses the same back drop that So Hyang used with the song Bridge Over Troubled Water.
