Lord of the Rings mashups is one of the best things I made for this channel. So why not go to the trilogy that while weaker than Lotr, it still very close to my heart and will be explained as we get nearer to the release. So stay tuned. 2024 is gonna be packed!😎😎

Great to see The Hobbit movies getting some love! They've been unfairly maligned but I believe one day, they will have their revival, just like the Star Wars prequels did.
I'm so happy to do this trilogy as a mashup and give it some love. Now these movies do have their shortcomings and silly moments don't get me wrong. And I will point them out. And there is a channel out there you can check out called "Random Film talks" that did a outstanding critique of the trilogy and pointed out issues I had for years, and issues I didn't realize. But regardless i really do love this trilogy and cant wait to make the mashups💙
@@MixMatch53 I dont know, I'm really tired of internet film criticism. Especially when it comes to The Hobbit. 99% of it is the same talking points over and over (Tauriel, "butter scraped over too much bread", too much CGI, blah blah). And some of those are just filmmaking myths based on quotes that are massively taken out of context (like PJ "winging it" etcetera). It's extremely rare to see anyone bring up the smart and insightful things that the filmmakers did, of which there are many. Like how the movies make use of certain physical items associated with certain characters, and how these items change hands and what that communicates about their character arcs (such as Legolas taking Orcrist from Thorin in film 2 and then returning it to him in a moment of dire need in film 3, Gandalf losing his staff and receiving his new one from Radagast and losing his silver scarf, signalling a journey from "Hobbit Gandalf" to "LotR Gandalf"). Or just how amazing the acting is in these movies. And the score. And the visual designs, and so on. My point is... I think Peter, Fran and Philippa (and the rest of the crew) are actually much more interesting people than their RUclips critics tend to be. Sorry for rambling :)
It's alright. I understand the rambling lol.😄. And it's up to you if you ever wanted to see those critiques, and to be fair to RandomFilms, he does have constructive criticism and insight for the trilogy with references to support his points so it's not vacuous comments if that's your fear. And he does give his praises when it's due so it's not all bashing on it.👍👍
First one was good, since it mostly follows the book. But they streched 2 and 3 too much with bloated action and unnesessary plotlines.
Nothing will change how bad they did my boy beorn. Literally changes the tide of the battle single handedly and he gets 5 seconds of screen time fighting despite being by far the most impactful fighter on the field. Even outshines the damn eagles and they did him like that. Plus the dwarf elf love story... Common man

As flawed as the trilogy is I still enjoy it. And it's 100× better than Amazon's attempt. Excited for the Mashup 🔥
Yep. At least it isn't rings of power. And there are definitely things to laugh at in this trilogy. I will point those out too
I recently rewatched the trilogy and honestly now that I’m older, my perspective on these movies have changed.
Back when they first came out I wanted them so badly to be like Lord of the Rings, not yet understanding that no matter how much you push you can’t fit a square into a round hole.
They were never going to live up to Rings because their source material was also never a sequel or prequel to each other.
And given the development hell this trilogy was in (like WB forcing the New Zealand government to change laws for them, that PJ didn’t get the amount of time they already lost needed to set up things properly or the worst offense Harvey Weinstein being involved despite Jackson’s pure disdain for Weinstein)
It kind of gave me a small appreciation for the movies.
It’s not like the prequels who are just awful all around, no matter how much they try to add to it.
I also have an appreciation for these movies. Like soo much. I'll go more in depth in the future but it was back in 2012 I had never seen lord of the rings trilogy at that point, we went to go see the pixar movie Brave in theaters and the first hobbit trailer showed up and i wanted to see that, but my parents saided I gotta see the lord of the rings first. And the rest is history. There's so much more but again I'll save it for later. But I love these movies and don't get me wrong when I edit this, there is plenty to laugh at😄😆
@@MixMatch53 honestly I feel like with how much you and I have talked about these movies we should do a 1 episode special podcast and us just talking about the appreciation for these movies
Whoaa that a tall order. one thing at a time lol. Granted I don't like the sound of my voice after being on a podcast recently. Need to grow more confidence. But maybe one day. Obviously not anytime soon but keep it shelved for now and let's see where it goes.
