Movie Summary:
Merida (Kelly Macdonald), the impetuous but courageous daughter of Scottish King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson), is a skilled archer who wants to carve out her own path in life. Her defiance of an age-old tradition angers the Highland lords and leads to chaos in the kingdom. Merida seeks help from an eccentric witch (Julie Walters), who grants her an ill-fated wish. Now, Merida must discover the true meaning of courage and undo a beastly curse before it's too late.

Two of my granddaughters have wicked wild curls like Merida does; "A" is a redhead and this is one of her major fave movies and "C" has black/brown hair with ringlets and curls that are just as wild. This movie always makes me think of them and their incredibly wild strong independent streaks that make them amazing young women! I like how Disney had Merida be strong and not just 'fall for the prince'
Merida’s character is awesome! She’s stubborn but knows what she wants and her mother instilled that in her.
Saw this movie in theatre's with my sis. The bear fight at the end was incredible on the big screen and surround sound. felt every hit, in my chest. So many people said this movie was boring or wasn't that good, but I disagree. But then I was excited for a Pixar movie set in Britain - I might be biased.
You know it's actually really ironic how you said this movie was similar to How to train you Dragon because a lot of people tend to ship Merida with Hiccup due to their similar situations with their parents But also because of the weird group the two were in. Back in like 2013ish era there was this weird explosion of people putting this group called The Big Four together it's crew consisted of Hiccup, Merida Rapunzel from Tangled and Jack Frost from Rise of the Guardians. From fanart to fanfiction to actually like fanmade movie trailers and AMV's people were obsessed with this group myself include I think part why that happened and still kinda is a thing is because of not only how good said movies are but how similar the characters were to each other while still being different they had chemistry of this weird but natural group of friends who were outcast that I think spoke to a lot of people.
Would love to see y'all react to Rise of the Guardians as well as Tangled both really good movies and thank you the reactions there always a joy to watch

You didn’t show it in the video but when Mordu was killed, the spirit of the prince was bowing, it looks like it’s a sign of thank you. Must’ve been horrible being stuck as a bear with animal manners, he was still there I assume but not really, so he was glad it was over.
Over the years, the oldest prince regretted his decision that caused the demise of his kingdom and the death of his brothers. Now he’s waiting to be free from his torment.

It's usually just a joke but it comes from a holdover of the mass immigration of Scottish and Irish during the time of the potato famine. Since they were the "new" group and many were Catholic were as the Americans were primarily Protestant they were hated and discriminated against for a while.
I felt like this movie was so underrated.,and the little brothers were to funny.

I’m Scottish, Irish and British or English whichever the right term is or what you prefer to say. Love this movie. I remember going to theaters to see this and also remember that the bad bear used to give me nightmares for some reason it was probably because I was in single digits and I get scared easily lol 😅. But overall love this movie and no it doesn’t scare me anymore the bear I mean. Love all the Disney princess movies so many amazing classics! Love the scenery countryside is so beautiful even in animation.
Merida’s father’s voice is by Scottish actor Kevin Kidd. He is best known as Dr Owen Hunt in Grey’s anatomy
Nah that was the Macguffin boy that spoke Dorric that no one else could understand. Merida's father was voiced by Billy Connolly.
I love brother bear. This movie is great I love this movie her brothers are hilarious they are the real heroes of the movie
The second part of this movie was made into a book, so no second movie for the moment, at least they make the book into a movie
People tend to approach this movie with a modern day understanding of relationships. Marriages used to solidify alliances, which are necessary for survival.
One thing I Liked about this whole movie was that the princes didn't want it either. And the compromise was that she picks but not Until they're ready
Young MacGuffin was speaking Doric. His first line he told his father he could throw a log at the short man if he were standing a little bit closer, and for his second line i do believe he says "it's not fair making us fight for the hand of the queen, who doesn't want no part in it". He really was the best suitor for Merida. He seemed to be the only one actually paying attention to her, and also the only one merida was slightly interested in.

there's a fan theory out there that the old witch that lives in the cabin in the woods is Boo from Monsters Inc that travelled back to the past.
Another is that it is Boo in the future,due to some of the carvings representing stuff not seen back then,same said of Aladdin that it was in a future that war had reset humanity back,since the genie knew future pop culture.

Merida's hair was a REVOLUTION of animation when this first came out!
way late; but I love this movie. I love that throughout the whole movie Merida and the queen assume that they need to fix the physical representation of their bond as as family, when in fact the witch says specifically "look inside, mend the bond, torn by pride' Elenor would not have changed back until both she and Merida set their pride aside and actually took back the parts of the argument that rent their relationship asunder. Merida, who wanted to change her mother, had to want her mother back as she was and accept that her mother acts out of love ; Elenor needed to let Merida be her own person and take her ideas and wants into consideration and stop trying to force Merida into the version of her daughter she wants her to be. They never actually needed to literally fix the tapistry, its a red herring mirrored by the forgotten prince to make us the audience think its necessary, they just needed to fix their mother daughter bond :)
I love this movie so much!❤❤ Merida and Tiana are my favorite princess because they know exactly what they want, and when a problem happens, they make sure they will fix it because nothing will get in their way going twords what they want! ❤

I liked the movie,despite the problems. Back on 2012,Mom bought a DVD of the movie and watched. She loved the movie,especially with the story. At the time,it became my all-time Disney princess movie(until Tangled hitted in one year later),and liked the OST.
Like Cars 2,11 years later in retrospective,I listened to the OST of the movie,meaning that even underrated gems make awesome soundtracks,meaning it's a coicidence after all,lmao. Good times.

great reaction BUT *Brave* is not a PIxar movie. It was the only Dreamworks moviw for Disney. There is a scene in Pixar's *Ralph Breaks The Internet* where the other Princesses making a comment about her.

In Ralph, the princesses comment that she's from "the other studio", meaning she's the only Pixar princess, while they're all Disney.
