    The greatest guitar player who ever lived!! I know. I have been playing for over 40 yrs and I cannot comprehend what this man did on guitar! His brain was wired from birth to play this way. The universe is a complex computer program that often downloads intel like music to the mind of the unborn. Same as other talents. What we think we know is nothing compared to what we don`t know. MASSIVE UNDERSTANDING OF MUSIC OR SCIENCE IS NOT KNOWN TO US. How can one person have so much knowledge of something? It makes no sense based on our limited understanding of reality. Or is it reality?

    Think he recorded this at 18 years of age. He really had limitless potential. Such a great loss to music. I’m not ashamed to admit I get a bit emotional every time I hear Jason play

      @southamericanmetalhead6307 no he and marty both made their solo albums in 88. jason did get signed to shrapnel records at 16 and was in cacophony though which is just as impressive.

    Jason's dad created a PC program that allowed him to communicate and after 20 years in silence he created an album called Triumphant Hearts

    Becker and Friedman were in a band called Cacophony back in mid-late 80's. Great band, although sounds pretty dated now, but still adored by most guitar nerds.

    Crazy thing too is I believe his dad created a technique where Jason would use his eyes to communicate and now that system is widely used for patients that have suffered debilitating strokes and other brain injuries that severely impair a person's ability to speak or move.

    When Jason released his first album "Perpetual Burn" he was 18/19 years old. So after releasing of his first solo album the reaction in guitarists community was epic and it created a hype because very few guitarists at that were capable of playing guitar in that level. And this album and his other albums with his band Cacophony with Marty Friedman also album with David Lee Roth band made him the most critically technical guitarist in the world at that time.
    I have read many articles on Jason's musics and life. I found many world famous virtuous guitarists claimed Jason's music are so full of passions and technical difficulties with super rare classical notes and playing these notes takes years to cover them or even come close to cover or play. It's a wonder that Jason could play those notes easily and more nicely. Many guitarists also said no guitarists before Yngwie Malmsteen or after Jason Becker used super rare and difficult classical notes in their songs.

    I watched the documentary on Jason couple of years ago. He should have been dead for a long time now, but amazingly he's still hanging on and composing with a computer.
    Then to this particular piece of music: I grew up listening to guitar heroes in my adolescence. The speed was the ultimate measure of talent. I listened to Vinnie Moore, Ynwie Malmsteen, Martin Freeman, Joey Taffolla and of course Van Halen, Gary Moore, Steve Vai, Reb Beach, and dozens of others. RUclips is full of these and every bedroom has a shredder. There's only so much you can say with the guitar or any other instrument. A band is the machine, the perfected instrument as a collaboration of individual instruments. As a guitar player for a 38 years now I'm legitimate to say, that we guitar players, we are a bit of a wankers for the sin of considering our selves to be the heart of the band and the breathers of life to the music. And now every one can write their hate male below...

    • @LogioTek
      @LogioTek 5 лет назад +2

      Jason's shred was different in that he totally knew how to write music - a genius composer.

    • @ToddGillespie1977
      @ToddGillespie1977 2 года назад +1

      Hate “male” 😂. Can you play better than you spell? Don’t tell me how long you’ve played as if that means you are qualified to dictate opinion. Speed and dexterity take a lot of work that I highly doubt you’ve put in, regardless of 38 years of playing guitar. Don’t argue unless you have evidence of your taste, talent and song writing brilliance. There is absolutely no reason to go out of your way to critique shred guitar in comment sections unless you are jealous and or a lazy player. You could just avoid shred guitar if you wanted to, but you found a Jason Becker reaction video to make comments about this particular style of music. You changed nobody’s opinion with your comments. Did you really listen to “Martin Freeman” and “Ynwie Malmsteen”? Who are those guys? I bet your bedroom doesn’t have a shredder. Absolutely no reason to comment like that on a reaction to a player who was not a bedroom shredder. The video has nothing to do with bedroom shredders. It’s a reaction to an absolutely exceptional musician who wrote and recorded plenty of slower, clean songs as well. I hope I can find some shred guitar videos by this Martin Freeman you spoke of.

    • @pasit1738
      @pasit1738 2 года назад

      @@ToddGillespie1977 Thanks for your counter comment. I do spell Finnish much better than English for a particular reason. About the shredders, I grew up with that music and I don't disapprove about the skill and talent to do that. And no, I don't really have that talent partly due to that laziness, partly because there's many other more interesting things to do in life, than practice guitar an hour after hour (which I did in my adolescence. So no talent, either, I guess...). Have you heard Malmsteen's Marching out? What about the Eclipse? Those are my favourites of his. Then there's Vinnie Moore's Mind's Eye and Dream Theater's Metropolis Pt. 2 Scenes from a Memory. Karmakanic has some awesome music, too, with fabulous guitar playing, and so does Marillion, The Flower Kings, Spock's Beard, Transatlantic, Riverside, and many more. But the essence is that the shredding is a tool, not the vehicle, if you get what I mean. So, chill out, man, enjoy your music and have awesome 2022!

    He and Marty Friedman formed Cacophony in 1986, and stayed together for 3 years, before Friedman joined Megadeth. Although he is immobilized by A.L.S., he still writes music by a system of eye movements. He has a new album out featuring the whose who of modern guitarists on it. There is video of him as a teen playing guitar with one hand, while playing with a yoyo with the other.

      Most of it was composed by the time he was 17 (although some material can already be heard in his demos from 15-16), all recorded at 18, released at 19 to be exact. Genius is correct.

    Hey Jim! Just want to throw out a suggestion I think might be up your alley: Synaesthesia - Ephemeral. It’s ambient electronic with a lot of tribal drum stuff (not sure if live or samples tbh), done by the guys from Frontline Assembly. It’s been a favorite of mine for years and I think you’d dig it. Not looking for a reaction video, just something to check out on your own. Thanks, and keep the videos coming, good sir!
