It’s like “yeah let’s go clubbing with these bops I’ve given you but let’s remember that women like me feel unsafe in these environments. Let’s blast to space and dance but remember what’s going down on earth.” What a brilliant pop record
The chorus of boys will be boys just doesn’t sound great to me, but i agree the song has its place and the lyrics are stunning. Most like feminist songs criticize men and focus on women issues, which are still good, but instead dua focuses on how the younger generations aren’t being taught to actually be better and fix those issues. The whole song is just mocking the “boys will be boys” saying, and it’s so refreshing to see a woman maintaining her female empowerment while also not strictly blaming boys

This is one of my favourite albums ever(a big statement I know) its a perfect pop album and every song is single material.The middle of the album is my favourite though because Levitating,Hallucinate and Pretty Please are my favourites so far. *Update-Cool is now my favourite but still*
I noticed that party conversation/chanting samples were layered in the background throughout in the album, which adds to the "lively" feel. An example is in Don't Start Now. The second chorus of this song has the party noises layered in, while the first chorus does not. This is a subtle way of helping the songs drive forward and build to their climax in my opinion! Soooo much fun listening to this album!

Some of the tracks I'll need some time to get into (eg. Hallucinate, Cool), but standout tracks for me are definitely the title track, Don't Stop Now, Levitating (my personal favourite) and Break My Heart. Overall, this album is a really cohesive body of work that, I might boldly say, will be considered a modern pop masterpiece by the end of the decade! The song Love Again is sampled by White Town's Your Woman and it's one of my favorites from the album and it does so well with the concept themes from female empowerment to love and breakups. Honestly to me I feel like this whole thing is a bop from start to finish. Also I do like to point out that Break My Heart does sound like Attention by Charlie Puth but way better.

The song Love Again is sampled by White Town's Your Woman and it's one of my favorites from the album and it does so well with the concept themes from female empowerment to love and breakups. Honestly to me I feel like this whole thing is a bop from start to finish. Also I do like to point out that Break My Heart does sound like Attention by Charlie Puth but way better.
Yes I thought the same thing on BMH about Charlie Puth!! I don’t like Good in Bed, I don’t feel it fits with the rest of the album. Boys will be boys has an important message & it’s a good song but also doesn’t really fit sonically.
