    Muscle can help you build "curves" - shape, in places where you might not have them naturally. Especially if you are slender, this routine would help, but if you are carrying any extra body fat, it may still help because once you start to lose that extra fat (via routines like this one), your waist becomes more defined and your curves more definite.

    You guys are changing my life. I have been working out with you the past couple of months and you made me enjoy it. I use to hate exercising for all my life. Now it's the first thing I think when I wake up in the morning! Love you, from Greece.

    @preethagopal Yes, this workout has enough large, major muscle groups moving that it ends up burning a good deal of calories. Just cardio alone will not build you muscle (like this routine can) which means that you burn far fewer calories while at rest (not good!). I am excited that you have seen results and now am sending you luck in that you stick with the habit.

  • @fitnessblender
    @fitnessblender  12 лет назад +1

    You can & should still workout, even if you don't want to drop weight. It's good for your heart, your bones, your immune system, moods.......the list goes on. In order to workout without dropping, you just need to bump up your caloric intake a bit.

    Wow, this one was rough. Moves so fast that I had to pause to change the weight stack on my dumbbells. I quickly learned to lift a bit lighter than I normally would. These strength sets have a fair amount of cardio and upper-body moves, and 14 reps is harder than your typical 8 rep strength sets.

    It's all about your starting point, yes. Thin; you would need to build up curves (hips & chest/shoulders) to create the contrast with the waist. Thicker/curvier; the obliques workout could help draw in the midsection.

    @sparklewish80 Oh I feel for you, I know it can be hard to want to exercise with fibromyalgia. Exercise can make a big difference though, so don't give up on it. Watch our video feed, we will do a low impact video in the near future!

  • @fitnessblender
    @fitnessblender  12 лет назад +1

    Depends on the body you want, your starting point, and how hard you are willing to work to reach your goals.

  • @fitnessblender
    @fitnessblender  12 лет назад

    If you are slender, this workout can help you build the look of curves. You will be able to start to notice a difference in body tone in as little as 2 weeks, and a difference in shape in around 4 weeks. I would recommend not just doing 1 workout though - we have so many to choose from that it would be best if you frequently mix it up in order to keep the workouts maximally effective.

    If you are lean, you can do strength training workouts targeting those areas to create muscle where you want the look of shape (this workout would be a good example, as would any of our other strength training ones, using heavy weights).

    Thanks you for another awesome video.. i found from your website that this exercise can burn almost 250 to 290 calories.. my understanding was that only hi-cardios like jumping can burn fat faster. now i have learnt to mix up ur vidos so that i can cover stretching, hi-cardio, flex, strengthening in the weekly list. for 2 months of hard workout i cudnt find a difference but later in the 3rd month i found a huge difference in my body. now my own body motivates me to religiously exercise everyday

  • @jeandavis8620

    Great routine. Challenge modification questions:
    1. During the dumbell pull-over; lifted hips up and extended ROM toward knee at far end to get more buttock and ab engagement-- is that okay?
    2. During Squat Heel Raise/Shoulder Press; stayed on toes entire time to challenge full body balance and calves-- is that safe?
    3. During Cross-over Lunge/Curl; slowed timing and slight cross over leg lift at the end of rep wanting to challenge balance and quads-- does that work as I imagine?

    @Soucchii Almost literally any exercise is good for that, because it just takes an overall reduction in body fat. More specifically, I would recommend that you try our HIIT cardio workout, and any of our abdominal videos.

    There is no functionality in putting the weights that I am using because everyone will need a different weight depending on how strong they are. We use adjustable dumbbells which are great because I get lots of variety in difficulty with very few pieces of equipment. Closed caption is a great idea, we will look into how we might be able to do that. Thank you for your suggestions & for watching our workout videos.

  • @fitnessblender

    It's really a personal thing - if it feels too heavy for you, it very well may be. Aim for a weight that feels heavy/challenging to lift by the last few reps. The weight you need will also vary by muscle group used and range of motion.

  • @fitnessblender
    @fitnessblender  12 лет назад

    @sparklewish80 This workout is great for people who are curvy, as well as those who want to build curves. We do have some workouts that are lower impact (search our library of videos on our website) and we're also planning on tackling some that are specifically low impact, in the near future.

    Bump up your intake of healthy calories. Exercise burns calories, no matter what kind you do, so you will just need to increase that in order to maintain. You could do this routine 3-4 times a week, but I recommend mixing it up with our other workout videos for the best results.

  • @fitnessblender

    Nice! Way to push yourself!

  • @fitnessblender

    That's okay there is plenty that you can do with bodyweight, and that doesn't cost a penny.

  • @fitnessblender
    @fitnessblender  12 лет назад

    I used a different weight for different exercises.....The amount of weight that you choose to lift is completely independent on your own personal strength; choose a weight that feels difficult to lift by the last 2-3 reps of each set.

  • @fitnessblender
    @fitnessblender  12 лет назад

    @anitalopresto 3-4 Times per week, but remember to mix it up so those muscles stay confused.

    @anitalopresto I like to pair exercises together - we all have busy lives & it's good to multitask ;) Plus I workout at home a lot of times and start to think of variations on exercises that hurt in a different way than their original versions. It's fun!

    just combined this with the hiit beginner workout and it was awesome, even though I only did 2 rounds instead of 3 but I added ankle weights with the hiit. Very good low impact combo to help salvage my joints.
    I'm definitely trying to hip people to your workouts because they're awesome! I've lost 17 lb in 10 wks!! Plus I look much more toned, 5 in off waist, and I just can breathe and move around better. Loving it!
    Thanks!!!!

  • @fitnessblender
    @fitnessblender  12 лет назад

    Use a combo of our videos: cardio routines (most days) and toning for upper & lower body/core 2-3x/week. Or you can find our inexpensive 8 week Fat Loss Plan that lays out 2 months worth of a structured plan using our videos. Whatever your "problem" areas, remember, you can't spot reduce. You have to lose body fat allover & those areas will take care of themselves. Keep at it & eat clean, you will get there :)
