When Wade Barrett came back during Shane's underground fight club era I got excited. I thought Wade showing up and trading blows with someone would've been pretty awesome, but he just went straight to being a commentator.
I would love to see him compete in NXT...that bull hammer was a great finisher, was much better than the Wasteland, or whatever it was he used back in 2010. Maybe he could put some great matches with Guys like Adam Cole or British stars like Dunne or Walter or others etc.
I still brag to everyone about meeting him a few years back. Was given some bad news from the man himself, and it was glorious. Bad News Barrett will forever be one of my all time favorite gimmicks. I go out of my way to tell people at work "I'm Afraid I've Got Some Bad News" in my best Barrett impression I can muster... even though my impression is kind of shit.
It really is a shame and such a wasted opportunity. I loved the Bad News Barrett character. I also liked the Man’s Man William Regal gimmick too. They could have gotten more out of that too.
Shango rules, way underrated gimmick; should have been used more- I liked that gimmick way better than godfather but I like spooky shit. Voodoo babayyyy
Why would Vince laugh so hard? Like he's never heard it? "Bad News"? Vince already had a guy in the '80s and early '90s. Bad News Brown. He had a great feud with Brett Hart. It was started with the 1st double cross I ever remembered seeing.
I just hired a person who look just like Wade...I even told him, "I'm afraid I have some bad news! You are hired!...but now, you're stuck in this company!"... I had to.
Wade Barrett was an amazing talent when I first saw him on NXT. In fact. NXT and The Nexus was actually the reason that I quit watching wrestling. At that time, I was really engaged. When the "Nexus Attack" happened and they destroyed everything in sight, I got so excited. I became hooked on Nexus. I got a Nexus shirt and everything lol. I remember feeling VERY dejected at the time because they spent quite some time establishing the Nexus as a threat, and jumping guys, and overall was just some really cool potential. And at that time, John Cena had nothing going on. Cena had already crushed any "credible" threats. So every PPV was Cena/Edge/Cena/Edge/Cena/Edge/Cena/Edge. It was boring. And then the Nexus got into a feud with Cena. My blood ran cold because I knew what was next. Long story short, The Nexus spent MONTHS terrorizing Cena and making his life a living hell. Then when I guess Cena had a better opportunity, Suddenly he crushed all of the Nexus, in one fell swoop... in one night... on ONE episode of Raw. It was the most disappointing thing for someone who was already tired of the product. I quit and never come back. But I find that I still can enjoy "wrestling" through these interviews and stuff from that era. Just can't stand to watch today. I don't know who's who, and every talent looks like a local town jobber.
WWE started getting better again about 10 months later and started going into overdrive pushing new young talent, which is why you don't know anybody now. There's been some really bad years since but also some really good years and the last few years have been consistently solid!

Wade had main event written all over him, at the very least as a British heel potentially going the Kurt Angle route.

Wade, you can cover that tattoo as much as you want, but we know that Goldberg tribal symbol will always be there ;)
I wish Vince had let Barrett go face with it. That was awesome time.
I just hired a person who look just like Wade...I even told him, "I'm afraid I have some bad news! You are hired!...but now, you're stuck in this company!"... I had to.
He is definitely a guy who could have been a wwe champion. He should have left wwe and shined in TNA or Japan then came back.
