I know many of you had to cancel plans to see spring in Japan (again), so please accept my virtual postcard from the gardens here 🌸 🌸 🌸 This is my first true spring in Japan, so I can't wait to explore the flowers together! Let me know if you prefer the Ume or Sakura blossoms.... I personally think the Ume Blossoms deserve more hype
You'rrre my favorite! But I agree that Ume blossoms deserve more hype! We have an old one growing here in Mountain Center, CA at 4,000 ft altitude and it's just glorious!!
Don't get me wrong, sakura are great, and I understand why they've come to be such a big thing, but I do personally love the ume blossoms more. I love, love, love the fragrance. It's still chilly when they bloom, and that scent on the breeze just reassures you that warmth is just around the corner.
I was there during Sakura season in 2019 just before the pandemic! I count my blessings to know how lucky I was to be able to go visit and see that beautiful country before all this happened.
The shots after you saying, "I really want to show you what it looks like from our side of the lens"..... HEAVEN. Wish I was actually present to see it irl.
same!! in a non-creepy way, my friend and I just watched them for a few minutes. It was SOOOO sweet! Just to see them spending time together had me all emotional
I kinda love them half-bloomed because the buds are so cute 😌😌 btw the weeping ones are called "shidare" - so any weeping tree could be called shidare, like shidarezakura, shidaremomo, shidareume
I LOVE THE BUDS! I really just want to pop them, ya know?? Also thank you for all the new vocab, as always!! Love learning from you (and loved your house tour!!)
Vicariously living through you to experience these lovely Ume and Sakura blossoms! Thank you for sharing, your attention to detail is great some really amazing shots 🌸🌸
IN LOVE WITH THIS - the music, the cinematic shots, the pink tone?? *chef's kiss plus I'm on the same page as you when it comes to sniffing the blossoms lol looking forward to more spring-themed videos!
YES!!! All the pink vibes in today's vlog!!!! thank you so much for enjoying... it makes me happy to sit and edit these and share them with you all. Happy Spring Javis and Lea!
Thank you for sharing. My friends are waiting anxiously for Japan to open their borders. Also I had no idea about Ume blossoms-they are truly spectacular and loved how they smell.
Your videos have brought me so much joy! We’ve been trying to plan a trip for so long. I’ve learned a bunch from watching your journey. Thank you for sharing your time with us, it is truly beautiful to watch. 🌸
I feel like cherry blossom trees are what really got me into Japan/Japanese culture. Like I remember just seeing all the cherry blossom trees in photos of Japan/Japanese games/anime and then I’d start to do research/just like looking things up and then I started to discover a lot about Japan and I’m completely in love with everything. I’ve always wanted a huge cherry blossom tree in my home in the future too because they’re just so beautiful. I really love your videos because I’m not able to travel anywhere(I’m young and have no money) and I can just see what Japan is like through your life/videos. P.S that fringe looks really nice on you ❤️
The pandemic cancelled our plans to move to Japan and I wasn't ready for how emotional this content was about to make me. Thank you for sharing everything you do!
I got to see the cherry blossoms in 2019. Clearly I fell in love. It holds a special place in my heart especially because I was proposed to at Meguro River, with gorgeous sakura surrounding us! It was my wish to continue visiting Japan, especially during sakura season but 2020 had other plans 😔 I really hope 2022 can take me and my husband back there 😭
The hanging plum blossom tree reminded me of something I would see in the movie Fantasia...so magical. Everyone there seems so kind hearted, I love when you interact with the locals!
Thank you for beautiful plum blossoms and Kawazu Sakura ones. Probably, two or three weeks later, you can view Somei-Yoshino Sakura(cherry) blossoms around Kintai Bridge in Iwakuni. This place is one of the famous places of cherry blossoms in Japan.
The sakura blossoms are So pretty! My daughter and I love watching your videos together. btw I think your hair is very cute but your self consciousness about the bangs shows when you fix them so much.
Omg I love that you both watch it together, that's so sweet! I hope you bring her here as a girls trip one day!!!!!!! Also omg nooo not self conscious about my bangs... they're rather annoying right now (lol) because I'm growing them out. They're constantly in my eye!!!! such a struggle lol
That was the best 12 minutes of my day. So beautiful and peaceful! I'm not ashamed to say I actually felt a bit teary 😂 Thank you for videoing this for us all to see. A local park here in Oxfordshire, England has Cherry Blossom trees but unfortunately due to Covid I have not managed to see them this year. It's one of my favourite things to do. So to see them in Japan would be an absolute dream. 🌸
I really really L🌸VE how you guys are all just looking so happy and calm 😍 I would too, walking around there. I can't wait for sakura here. We have only a few trees, but the ones we do have are big and beautifully situated.
Oh. My. Gawd. I watched it on my nice tv like you recommended, and I actually almost cried. I absolutely love japan, I wish I could live there. But oh thank you for such beautiful shots.
Wow the sakura and ume blossom are so stunning!🌸 I'm so jealous of you, in Sweden the snow has just melted where I live so everything is just dead and grey now. I can't wait for spring to come so i can enjoy all the flowers and nature. Great video as always☺️❤️
In love with those Sakura trees. I mean how lucky can you get walking along a beautiful park with blooming Sakuras and with a Bath and Body Works Sweet Pea scent following you around?
I just ordered some cherry blossom trees from Home Depot in the US. I actually got a type they call kwanzan (because of how hearty they are), which I think is the same as kwazu! It’s exciting to see that they bloom so early. I know in the northeast US our cherry blossoms bloom about a month after Japan, so I’m excitedly waiting for the few ones here to start.
Plum blossoms are less full and have a little reddish purple shell on the underside of the leaves that used to have the petals hidden inside. It’s one of the easiest ways to tell the difference. It’s almost Sakura season here on Vancouver Island
I just found your channel and seen a few of your videos. I see you live in the country by Iwakuni (I used to live there too but on the base). Have you been to Kintai Bridge and the to Iwakuni Castle? The cherry blossoms are absolutely gorgeous there!
I actually didn't know about the Ume blossoms before watching your video! I want to smell them so bad now. 🤩 Loved the close-up shots - so pretty! Did you film those with your new camera? The color coordination on day 2 was so cute haha.
I know my question may sound dumb but is grass in Japan different from Europe and North America’s one. Because usually it is greener in Europe even in early spring.

The shots after you saying, "I really want to show you what it looks like from our side of the lens"..... HEAVEN. Wish I was actually present to see it irl.
I want to be there too! It’s so cool seeing the filming too.
Living for the high def shots on the new camera 🌸 a very good investment ✨

You can just feel the calm energy coming through this video 🌸☺️🌀
