Video is up a day early (I'm switching my schedule around a bit!) Hope you enjoy... ! If you feel generous, leave a comment and let me know what your favorite part is
Caitlin.. I have been following you here and on TT and IG since you began posting. The quality of your videos has become so good and your content is awesome. You've matured so much in your vlogging and I always look forward to new uploads from you. Thank you for what you do and for sharing with us.
my favorite park is the cute cafe you use for learning Japanese. I am also want to learn Japanese but am a bit overwhelmed whats the most easy way to make a good start with it? and also learning the "symbols" eventually?
Thank you for putting lots of value to a countryside in Japan! People tend to travel urban areas such as Kyoto, Osaka, and Tokyo but you are showing great beautiful sides of authentic Japan❤️Love the scene you are learning kanji😊❤️
wow that so cool how you said you and your neighbour friend don’t always know what each other are saying but there’s some connection and that’s why you’re really fond of her... that’s so special
That coffee shop was so beautiful! It was so peaceful and I loved the paper menus😍 My favorite part of this vlog was you visiting your neighbor with Gus Gus, she is always so sweet with him. I would love to hear her story in a future vlog❤️
I feel like the nails were a fair price. I typically pay around $70 usd for get polish and art, tip included. I generally go to independent nail artists rather than salons, so I pay more. But I’ve seen nail art for $5 per nail, so that price for the tips seems reasonable...
I second this. In some salons I’ve seen that they have tiers for nail art. Like for example linear/simple motif is $2-3/nail, more elaborate details cost more per nail.
Here in The Netherlands if you do tips you would pay somewhere between € 55,00 and € 75,00 euro. Depending on which material you want them to use and if you want to lengthen your own nails or want totaly new nails on your nail. Also the shape you choose for your nail can difference in price. Then you pay for the nailart per nail, so that's somewhere between € 2,50 en € 4,50 depending on what kind of nailart or decoration you want. And sometimes you pay extra for the gel nailpolish and that would probably be somewhere between € 15,00 and € 25,00, but it can also be included in the price. Differences per nail salon. This is if you go to a professional nail salon, not all nail salons have these prices. You can go to a cheaper nail salon as wel, but they use very bad materials for your nails, skin and health and most of the time they don't put on the nails the way they should be put on. So that means your nail is going to be damaged. I think in an not professional salon you pay € 45,00 for everything togheter. But I would net recommand that because of someones health. So for me the Japanese prices are very standard if you go to a professional nail salon.
Hi! I am an American living in Portugal, discovered your channel a couple of months ago and I dearly love your videos! I love that you are so expressive. We females do like our days of browsing, our warm colors, all the simple things that you take time to film and share. Take care and thank you for sharing your adventures! ❤
Always a good video when Ami-san is featured, that definitely was my favorite part. My dog came and sniffed my phone when all the dogs were barking, I think that might have been her favorite part 😝
The countryside footage was so beautiful and calming. It also felt a little lonely? But that's just me projecting. I remember when I studied abroad I really struggled with making friends because I didn't have enough grasp of the language to make jokes. I feel that so much of my personality and bonding with people is my sarcasm. When you can't be sarcastic or make witty remarks in a new language, you have to default to physical humor which just wasn't "me." It's funny how I prepared for so many things before going abroad but didn't think I'd miss joking around. I hope you're able to stay long enough to master the language and comfortably joke with your neighbors and new friends. In regards to those nails. My goodness that's a lot of money! I'm in Austin, TX and that would probably be ~$75. That said, I wouldn't know because I'm a cheapskate and don't treat myself to manis :)
Omg yay I'mm early! Just wanna say that i love your vlogs especially when you go around the japanese countryside or just go out and explore Japan! Those are my fave videos of yours. We get a glimpse of that beautiful place. Or those videos where you go out have walks. I sometimes get bored of your haul vlogs hehe but still love your channel! PS: We miss u in tiktok!
To do gel nail art here in LA is about the same price. I went to 2 different places, did the same, extension tips, gel, and nail art on a few nails and not including tip they were about $75-100
Hi Caitlin I think you are a breathe of fresh air. Your humility and willingness to embrace Japanese culture is inspiring. I’m so pleased that I found you here on RUclips. Much love from London xxxx
Your nails turned out beautiful! She did an amazing job! Where I am in America a basic manicure, tips, gel and a design would cost $70 + a tip. I think price can change heavily based off what individual things they do for the manicure. For example I can get a manicure as basic as it gets for $15 or a more detailed, multiple treatment manicure for $50 so I think it depends on that too.
We loved to go for lunch to this small home restaurant close to our Uni in Oita, run by a sweet old couple. It was the best food in town. You just had to bring a lot of time since he did all the cooking by himself. But they had a huge Manga collection you could look at and I just loved the time we got to hang out there together. Really miss their food. It was superb. Heard the place unfortunately closed 😭
The different shots you're trying lately are amazing! I love the "observing" shots from behind you when you're walking or in the shop! It feels more like a personable vlog 🖤
I found this channel yesterday. You uploaded amazingly full of nice and pretty, pleasant scenes and episodes in a local town! I must catch up all of your videos from now! I've never visited Iwakuni. So I decided to go up to the Iwakuni castle next year:) I like your tone of voice, by the way.👍👏😍😊😄‼💯
I’m Australian, gel manicure with tips - depending on where you go is roughly $50AUD so that’s about $38USD. Nail art is usually $5 per nail. When I was in Tokyo I paid 12,000¥ for a manicure. No gel! No tips. Just polish. But it was the city. And it was New Year’s Eve. I then put my own nail art stickers on. Which a Japanese girl told me was cute when I asked for directions ☺️ Love love love your videos. They make my heart long to go back to Japan. Adore Gus Gus ♥️
Thank you for sharing the charm and beauty of the Japanese countryside. I've had so much fun watching and now experiencing and supporting the places you go. By the way Hanana nails is my favorite-love Chia the owner
you pack so much into 20 minutes, I feel like I've just watched 4 videos :) Thanks for the video, I really love watching people enjoying Japan while I can't get over there myself
i love your videos Ms. Caitlin, from tiktok, IG and here. Very informative. Sharing your life in a foreign country is really an eye opener. I also, love your dog. Gus gus is so adorable.
Your nails are super pretty love them!! Very very expensive though I tend to get acrylic nails done, so them or gel are in the £30 mark for a full set and that includes any art I want as well, (I'm from the uk) ☺ still I love the hand painted art! ☺🥰
I love all the countryside videos. You capture such incredible scenes. Makes my heart happy seeing all the quaint places you frequent and discover!! Thank you😊
I just found your channel, but I am truly enjoying watching all of your videos of Iwakuni and the surrounding areas. I was stationed in Iwakuni (Marine Corps) in the mid 80's (Before you were even born.... Ugh.... I'm turning in to an old man! LOL). But I wanted to say thank you for all of your beautiful and informative videos and it's so nice to do some reminiscing through your lens. :)
I love this video so much. It makes me want to go even more 😢. I also really appreciate how you censor people’s faces... I think it’s just so respectful and kind to do that and to keep their lives private.
Everytime you post I get so excited and happy! Your videos always calms my anxiety and makes me so happy too because I miss Japan so so much! Japan is basically my home and I haven't been back in so long but watching your videos makes me feel like I'm there :)
The fact that you can still visit with friends and go to restaurants blows my mind. Because of quarantine, I haven’t seen my friends in person in over a year.🥺 I love your “week of life in Japan” videos because they remind me of the things I love to do. I’m living vicariously through youuuuu! Stay safe and keep exploring!
It's fairly new, and it hasn't been until the past two weeks that we've been seeing each other again. The countryside was super safe where I lived, hardly any cases (luckily). This was the first time I went to a big city in MONTHS! Sending lots of love from Japan!
Your videos always make me so happy! I love seeing all of the beautiful and amazing things that Japan has to offer ❤❤ I also adore your vlog style and I really enjoy watching what you do throughout the day/week 🥰
ahhhh thank you! I hope to do more of these vlogs now that it's a bit safer to get out and explore... and SPRING! Hopefully a lot of spring content to come
@@heratlas I'm so excited to see the Sakura bloom! And I'm so happy that things are starting to become a little safer and that you're able to go out and do more while keeping yourself and others safe!
Thanks for sharing! I loved seeing the historic-house-turned-cafe! 😍 It seemed like such a peaceful spot to hang out & now I’m aching to visit the Japanese countryside and wander around🥺🥺
"Aesthetic" is right! I love this vlog! The music and everything just creates a whole mood. Thank you for sharing Japan with us! I hope to go there in real life some day, but for now, I really enjoy learning about it through your videos! 🌸
Hello I just stumbled across your channel and I just wanted to say I absolutely love it! It looks so beautiful there. I’m new here but in Okinawa and can’t wait to travel to mainland one day💕
Loved your video. I remember being in Japan and wanting to get my nails done and I saw the price and thought no way. In Australia gel nails is $30, Sometimes 25 depending on where you go.. You can buy a gel nail led kit and do your own nails for way cheaper. Online you can get the led lamp for around 30 dollars and then you can buy your own gel nail polish for around 3 dollars a bottle if your buying from China.. really good value, so maybe keep that in mind if you want to save some money.
In NJ, a gel set of nails with tips, and full manicure, is anywhere from $60-90, typically. Then add the nail art, which again, in NJ, usually costs between an additional $10-35 bucks So I'd say that's a pretty good price.
I have been a constant follower since i saw your tik tok video blow up!! Thanks for keeping me calm and hopeful during my stressful times of nursing school, i can't thank you enough ❤️
I’m in Stockholm, Sweden and I get my gels done every 3 weeks. I pay the equivalent of 50$ every session, but that’s bog standard gels on natural nails. Designs and tips are more expensive. But here it’s also common to tip your nail technician! So I spend about 60$ total every time and if I can tip more I always do 🥰
Wow! I loved the Mexican food part and your friend being Mexican! I could relate so much. Also your manicure! I was looking forward to it since you posted on stories. Thank you for sharing🌸💓
Caitlin! Your videos have gotten sooo beautiful! I love watching them when I do my planning for the week b/c they are so relaxing! I can't wait to see footage of the bridge.
Caitliiiin, this is probably my new favorite video of yours!!! You did such an amazing job, it was absolutely entertaining and inspiring to watch. After the long study session I had today (Japanese exam is in 2 daysss) I needed something to calm down so I can go to sleep in peace. Your video reminded me of what I'm working towards and made me feel really good. Thank you again for being such a respectful, kind and sweet content creator
Finally a nail....ish video. Super cute!!! Not sure how much it costs here.... Lagos. Not had nails done in almost 2 decades cos of my kind of work but I love cute nails... On others!
omg, im from ontario and idk if its just the salon i go to, but i pay $50-$55 CAD for a full set of acrylics (tips) and that includes the gel/shellac polish and i think its like $7 for designs but they dont charge per nail. theyre also well done, ive never had a nail chip or break, they only come off when i take them off
Love these types of videos! They're just so peaceful and allow us to see more of what Japan has to offer. Also lets us see a little insight to what goes on in your life :) All the best! xoxo
Every interaction in this video was so wholesome! I'm always filled with so many happy emotions when I watch your vlogs like this because it takes me back to when I was in Japan about 4 years ago. I miss it so much and I hope to go back again soon and experience the Japanese countryside some more! (P.S. you write SO NICELY in Japanese!) As for the price of the gel manicure, I think gel nails here in Canada can cost anywhere from $30-$60CAD with tips. Can definitely get more expensive the more you get done on them though.
The cafe you started at was so cute, right up my alley! For nail prices I’m in the SGV of Los Angeles and have nail salons in very strip mall with Walmart prices. Before covid I was paying $32 for gel manicure and reg pedicure but now they raised it up $10 to compensate.
I would say depending on your US location (I'm in a large metro area) that isn't that high a price. Yes, it can be done for less here but often after up-charges for art/tips/etc and after tipping, it can run close to that! She did a BEAUTIFUL job!
In USA where I live in New York State Gel Nail manicures are not that expensive. We also don’t pay for tips per nail. They usually just do it but it would be like $10 more for the work. But you’d pay around $75-80 for that plus tip so maybe it would be close to the same price?
Hi just to let you know that love your videos but this video OMG I wish I can go right know is so beautiful your town it really is!!! Keep up the good work!!
I was actually clipping my nails while watching your video, and I paid about USD $3 for the nail clippers which I have used about 300 times, so my cost was about USD $0.01. No gel or decoration, though, but if I did, it would be a T-cell gobbling up a coronavirus virus particle. It is always a treat to see Gus-Gus on your vids, and your neighbor! What level, do you think, your Japanese is at this point (you seem pretty good) and how long would you like to stay in Japan? It seems you are adapting well and are enjoying it.
Caitlin, Here in Nicaragua you pay around $10 or $25 top for your nails depending of the design and material. I couldn't picture myself paying $105, but I guess its relative to each country prices. I love your videos and each time they are getting better and better! I'm a huge fan 😀
@her.atlas, HI, i literally stumbled across your channel whilst watching other RUclipsrs from Japan. I am obsessed with Jpan and really really really want to visit, vlog & photograph the worlds most beautiful country, as well as make new friends. I am also from The States but have been living in Germany for almost 9 years. I just know i will your channel and am exited to learn bout Japans country side( which to , me is the Real Japan, and the part i really would love to visit). I can't wait to see more of your content.
See she can speak and vlog even without bringing her face mask down. We can hear her loud and clear! Love it!!
WE LOVE CUTE MASKS, TOO!

Hello I just stumbled across your channel and I just wanted to say I absolutely love it! It looks so beautiful there. I’m new here but in Okinawa and can’t wait to travel to mainland one day💕
You're lefthanded! Me too! It's a bit more challenging getting the stoke order correct when writing Japanese I find.
Loved your video. I remember being in Japan and wanting to get my nails done and I saw the price and thought no way. In Australia gel nails is $30, Sometimes 25 depending on where you go.. ohhhh my gosh that mask made from blue kimono fabric is the most gorgeous thing! i want it. also your videos are so relaxing to cross stitch to
In NJ, a gel set of nails with tips, and full manicure, is anywhere from $60-90, typically. Then add the nail art, which again, in NJ, usually costs between an additional $10-35 bucks So I'd say that's a pretty good price.
Pretty flowers on your nails!
Thanks for sharing the area you live in it looks really nice ありがとう!👍🏴
That seems like a crazy price for nails! I'm from Ontario, Canada. To get our nails done here is between $30-60CAD
Depends on what you get though. I live in Ontario too and paid 90+ for bio gel nails.
I'm from Australia and that sounds about right for nails in my part of Sydney! It's more the closer you are to the city though.
SO INTERESTING! I think a regular manicure was about $50 USD, but even outside the city its a lot (I'll still go back eventually!!)
I have been a constant follower since i saw your tik tok video blow up!! Thanks for keeping me calm and hopeful during my stressful times of nursing school, i can't thank you enough ❤️
You are the best! Loved when your southern accent came out for a second after you got your nails done lol!
I’m in Stockholm, Sweden and I get my gels done every 3 weeks. I pay the equivalent of 50$ every session, but that’s bog standard gels on natural nails. Designs and tips are more expensive. 11:12 I can confirm lol, large cats poop larger too LOL. (I have a Norwegian) 💜
Wow! I loved the Mexican food part and your friend being Mexican! I could relate so much. Also your manicure! I was looking forward to it since you posted on stories. Thank you for sharing🌸💓
I just got to the part of the price manicure, in Mexico tip nails with gel can cost you up to 2500 yen or 25 dlls 💅🏻
I love watching your videos and seeing all the beautiful places in Japan. Your nails look so cool! Expensive but hey treat yourself!!!
Caitlin! Your videos have gotten sooo beautiful! I love watching them when I do my planning for the week b/c they are so relaxing! I can't wait to see footage of the bridge.
I love watching your videos! Thank you for showing us around! I used to live in Tokyo 15 years ago and I still miss so many things about Japan!
Caitliiiin, this is probably my new favorite video of yours!!! You did such an amazing job, it was absolutely entertaining and inspiring to watch.
On others!
wow omg, you are getting a lot better at your editing and camera recording skills! WE LOVE THE PROGRESS!
This was such an enjoyable video all around. Loved seeing glimpses into the countryside of Japan. So dreamy!
oh wowwww yes do videos about the history of your town!
omg, im from ontario and idk if its just the salon i go to, but i pay $50-$55 CAD for a full set of acrylics (tips) and that includes the gel/shellac polish and i think its like $7 for designs but they dont charge per nail. theyre also well done, ive never had a nail chip or break, they only come off when i take them off
Your videos makes me want to go to japan again keep up the good content
The area you live in is SO BEAUTIFUL! ...But I loved the "inu party"
i really love your videos! they bring so much peace to my life
This was just so special! Made my whole heart smile 😊 thank you for sharing
(P.S. you write SO NICELY in Japanese!)
As for the price of the gel manicure, I think gel nails here in Canada can cost anywhere from $30-$60CAD with tips. Can definitely get more expensive the more you get done on them though.
You are so very talented. I'm awestruck with the scenery there. Such a wonderful way to start a Saturday 💙💙
The cafe you started at was so cute, right up my alley!
For nail prices I’m in the SGV of Los Angeles and have nail salons in very strip mall with Walmart prices. Before covid I was paying $32 for gel manicure and reg pedicure but now they raised it up $10 to compensate.
I love all the interactions you have with locals in your area 💖 also the lil goodbye for Georgia 😭
Wow, the nails turned out so beautiful!!
The price is about the same as I pay here in Denmark- without custom art - so to me it sounds very good 😌
I would say depending on your US location (I'm in a large metro area) that isn't that high a price. Yes, it can be done for less here but often after up-charges for art/tips/etc and after tipping, it can run close to that! She did a BEAUTIFUL job!
This video gave me so much peace! Please continue with this type of video! I hope someday I can visit all the places you are showing us!
In USA where I live in New York State Gel Nail manicures are not that expensive. We also don’t pay for tips per nail. They usually just do it but it would be like $10 more for the work. But you’d pay around $75-80 for that plus tip so maybe it would be close to the same price?
I love your dedication to learning the japanese language and the japanese culture. I really admire thaaaaat!! Hugs from Sweden❤️
Hi Caitlyn💕i love ur videos. I would be really cool and useful if you made a video about do's and dont's in Japan💓Have a nice day💗
Love this video!! The coffee shop might have been my favorite part! The owner, the menus, and bridge pieces... all so cool!! 💕💕💕
