GIVEAWAY: a sake set from Arita that I picked up while at the festival! 2 cups and the matching sake carafe - I just posted the photos on my IG stories. All you need to do to enter is like, subscribe, and leave a comment with your fav part (food, scenes, shopping??) ❤ winner picked on January 29
I had to laugh about the dino comment and how quickly it would be broken! :) As a potter, I would go nuts there just getting ideas. I really, reallywant to go there. Thank you for inspiring me! (BTW, the cup-sake carafe set is stunning!)
Omg Arita has been on my list to visit! I am obsessed with Japanese pottery & have developed a collection visiting each summer.. plus my Dad’s collection when he lived in Japan in the 90’s!! Will have to plan on coming during the pottery festival!
Thank you for showcasing my home town beauty. The town of Arita in Saga prefecture also holds annual “deep discount” events along the old town streets in May. But these shops in the outskirts of Arita have gorgeous and relatively modern versions of crafted pieces that are so attractive. I’ve been living in the states for over 40 years but make sure to go home every year mainly to soak in a hot spring bath in Takeo to repair my skin and rejuvenate. A few pieces bought at these shops beat any souvenirs one might find elsewhere.
my favorite part was when you were shown the artist sketch work. It turns it from a simple cup to a work of art. And he had some very beautiful items.❤ you really make me want to travel to Arita.
Pottery in Japan is a different level of WOW!!! Loved seeing the Sakura sinks and all the blue themed pottery pieces. ✨✨ fave part was seeing the kids plate set and the details incorporated.
my favorite part was getting to see all of the different kinds of pottery and artistry!! even just how all the different shops are laid out is so fun to see.
My favorite part of this video is seeing all of the artists different paintings on the pottery and just the culture through the whole video! I love it! I don't get to travel but want to visit Japan, one day
Wow! Thank you for taking us along. I loved seeing all the porcelain, ceramic and pottery pieces. The mugs are cute and the hand painted pieces were beautiful. It was heart touching hearing you say that you loved seeing how people were out and about, enjoying the festival and the craft. That was one of my fave parts of your video. Also…I agree with another commenter, we need a video of the goodies you chose! 😊
Girl we need a haul asap! 😍 as a beginning potter I basically loved the entire video, but I loved the ceramic toilet and the artist showing his sketchbook. Thank you for taking us in this trip!! ❤️
I’m so jealous of all of this pottery! My favourite part was definitely the cafe, such a neat and unique way to get served your drink and good! And the shop owner showing his sketches!
OMG!!! I am lost for words!! Adding to places to see when in Japan! I think everything looked amazing - also that golden crane little dish? to die for!!!!!! But I must say my favourite part was the shrine! I love how they incorporated the ceramics/porcelain into the iconic parts of shrines it looked stunning
My favorite part was seeing the absolute beauty of a minimalist cup in 18:34, it was love at first sight. Thank you for showing us this! It’s nice getting to see and in a way get to experience. I love that it all made by hand.
So hard to pick a favorite part. I did love how you could pick your coffee cup while dinning. I love all the pottery, I’d need to buy extra suitcases to bring it all home. Thank you for sharing all the beauty & hi to Linda ❤️

I also loved the Dine set as well how playful it was and so cute it isss! Love this video in general and the experience 🧸
I was in Japan but never got to buy a piece of ceramic or pottery to use at home so this shopping video is a treat for me. My favorite parts are when you were showing us the beautiful toilets and sinks. I also love the fancy coffee mugs and plates you were able to use when you were taking your coffee and snack breaks. I believe in ‘romancing the ordinary’ - so I am all for making your toilets beautiful and using your fancy dishwares daily, not just for special occasions. ❤
I’m stunned by all the designs and finds you showed us! Absolutely insane of what they offered and made!!! The modern ceramics were also beautiful and it made me so happy to see you so happy when shopping ❤ I’m more than invested and it’s such a “dream” even if I’m here only online! My fav part was in Gallery Arita where you enjoyed coffee in your 3rd choice of coffee cup . I loved all 3 of your choices and initially liked your first choice the most. However, your final choice looks lovely to drink from and with the little kintsugi repair perfectly represents the Japanese philosophy where imperfections are embraced.
My absolute favorite part about this vlog is watching the happiness painted on both your faces 😍Seing you two bond even more over a shared passion for art, ceramics and pottery.
I enjoy collecting unique ceramics each place I travel to. Would love to experience this pottery festival in Japan. I absolutely love all the cups and the donabe! Thank you for sharing.
