In the context of someone who isn't from the Nordic countries hearing it spoken Finnish really makes it sound and feel like some sort of fairytale language
That's interesting to hear as a finn. Because she was rambling quite a lot, like using "filler words" and such so I thought it was not the best example of finnish but seems like it hit the spot. :D
I am Swedish on my dad’s side and have Sami indigenous heritage. Legally in Sweden the Sami are the only ones allowed to hunt reindeer in the Laplands. I remember as a kid, around Christmas time visiting my grandparents and they would bring back a giant reindeer that we would eat for Christmas. We live in the United States now, but I would do anything to revisit those memories.😍😍😍😍
I felt like the Koreans when the Finnish girl talked, even though I'm Norwegian. It's amazing that a language spoken in a countried inside our "Nordic" borders can be so different from ours :)
Koreans and Japanese people (and maybe other Asians too?) are so polite! Always giving that little bow to people they meet. There's probably other examples too, but I know that football fans from these countries pick up every single piece of trash from their places in the stands when the match is over, and I remember the Japanese national team leaving their wardrobes spotless when done. Even left a message thanking the arrangers for the use of the wardrobe. Such honorable people!

Suomi mainittu! 👍Also, Vikings did try to invade our country once... Just once and never again after that. It did not go well for them. This is why our country is not known for Vikings.
That's actually not correct they were afraid of shamans living here also they believed shamans controlled the weathers in sea and big reason we were not worth raiding 😂
it's entertaining to watch but also makes me personally a little bit sad that there is not a bit of this awe left for immigrant people who represent two or more countries equally perfectly. because of the fairytale appearance the korean teens are starstruck but imagine a korean girl sitting there, singing the swedish (?) anthem and later talking to the teens in korean. they probably wouldn't be in awe but instead i can imagine them making fun of her "weird" accent, "weird" style or being surprised that she kind of looks korean but not really like a "real" korean, forgetting the fact that this person is perfectly bilingual and has so many more qualities to offer. with my background it's bittersweet to watch (but i'm working on it). thanks anyway for this video, it's cute :)
You are not Korean if you do not have a Korean passport. Even if you are Korean blood, if you have sweden passport, you are not Korean. Therefore, you cannot represent our country when you are not Korean.
Mandatory in school plus most of tv shows and movies is in English with subtitles thank god its never ruined by dubbing into Swedish like in Germany😀everyone under 70yrs old understands English but not many like to speak it (if that happen to you give us a few drinks and we start speak it fluently😉)
Those all three have a history going far back. Finland was a part of Sweden for a long time, and for centuries Norway went back and forth between Denmark and Sweden.
I love to see people from Korea, they seems nice, in kindergarden there was a girl from Korea, she was just like the rest of us but she had black hair and no language barrier, she loved to play all day like the rest of us :D We were just 4-6 years old while going at kindergarden.
She looks like a typical Finnish young girl. Blonde with slightly Asian features. I'm curious, how does an average Norwegian look like? I know they have more brunettes than us here in Finland. 😊
the moment the girl from finland mentioned the moomins I yelled "FINLAND", the moomins were shown here in Denmark as well and I loved it, so I learned the history behind it
In northern europe, it is very common to be born blonde (like me), but the hair gets darker as you get older. I had almost white hair and now in my 30s it's either dirty blonde or light brown depending who you are asking 😂
It’s so fun to watch it’s just like when you ask a question in english in abroad from a local they start speaking and explaining in their language I think I make the exact same face as this two koreans 😂
As a Norwegian agreed. She has too much botox and stuff to look like a doll and not a real person. We have so many more beautiful girls in our country though.
Ok so im pretty confused. The Swedish girl had Denmark chosen on her, and the koreans asked if vikings are popular in the country, she said no, so would that mean that they though vikings aren't popular in Denmark?
I live in norway and knows how to talk swedan that girl with blonde hair said shes a model lives in Korea and is a model that moved from norway to korea
It was the cutest thing human that I've ever seen on RUclips, good name, too! The Korean girl was full of giggles, must have very content parents to have daughter like her
They look like... uh... average, kind of "normal" to me lol. Don't get me wrong. They are beautiful! But, because there are a lot of beautiful people here, they look just like normal average every-day people to me. Greetings from Estonia.
Strong accent on the Norwegian? that's like the least accented dialect, like the one they use on TV as it's closes to Bokmål, one of our written languages. XD They'd get real confused if they used someone with an actual dialect :P ( similar for all of the countries really, like if they'd had someone speaking Skånska representing Sweden. :P )
I think the subtitles were a bit off on that. I don't think they meant she had a strong accent. I don't speak korean, so I don't know what they actually said, but I would guess they think norwegian has harsher or maybe clearer, more distinct sounds than swedish. But I am just guessing.
@@Audulf-of-Frisiayea also no way they will know football players of each country or artists belonging there or the romanian flag😂 Im sure 1 percent of Americans know if they pick educated people but the Average American… no way. Finland actually has two official language. Finnish and Swedish. The Finnish dialect of Swedish is a little different from Swedish Swedish. But because of this you actually couldn't guess who is Finnish and Swedish just from the language.
To my ears Finnish-Swedish is a little arcane in comparison to regular Swedish, kind of like a time capsule from when Sweden and Finland were a single country a long time ago. So it's kind of more than a dialect, it features words and expressions that are rarely used anymore in Sweden. To my ears anyway. :)
Wdym😂 In Finland we speak Finnish and it’s nothing like scandinavian languages. Swedish is spoken by swedes. Finnish swedes are swedes living in Finland
@@minnaorv That doesn't change the fact that legally Swedish is one of Finlands official languages and there are regions in Finland where Swedish speakers are the majority of the population. And no, they're not Swedish. These regions are made of people born and raised in Finland, to parents who where born and raised in Finland, who speak Swedish as their first language. And yes, i am completely aware that Finnish is a Finno-uralic language, unlike the Scandinavians who speak Germanic languages.
@@minnaorvNo, most Swedish speakers that live in Finland are Finns. There are several reasons for this - for a long time all higher education in Finland was in Swedish. Totally Finnish people like a branch of my ancestors went to university and took Swedish sounding names, starting Swedish speaking families. Likewise there were mixed marriages for centuries. Even the originally Swedish speaking families may not have had any family members living in Sweden for centuries. Their ancestors may have been ethnic Swedes 500 - 1000 years ago - or German or Scottish as well.
And I as a european think that the korean lad is the best looking of all of them. His face looks like it was carved by a sculptor. And those cheekbones and eyes will always remain, even when he is an old man.
Being born and raised in one of those countries their selection is really peculiar. So many stupidly attractive people live here, but they picked average or maybe even slightly below...

I don't think a lot of places today have no concept of what people from other places look like, but I grew up around the time the internet hadn't become fully mainstream. I am 198cm, 96kg, work out a lot and have blonde hair and blue eyes. Back then, I was 19, it was very obvious that people were staring when in Asia. The most wild thing I've tried was that an older mother offered me money to give her a grandchild. It's not like that today.
Finnish genes have a LOT of northern Siberian tribes in them, and those tribes have a lot of chinese and mongolian traits. So, it is not at all strange. One of my exes looked half Japanese and Finnish, and of course wasn't but had some Sami in there, and Sami people can look as "white" as German or as asian as Siberian. Sami people live in the north Lapland, they are the indigenous people in Finland. Those who settled in the land came from the Steppes, area around south Ukraine, Bulgaria etc. which is where most of Europeans come from.
I've seen them use a 100% ethnic Chinese woman representing Scotland before because she was born in Scotland, so who's to say if she is or isn't wasian?

This is a beautiful video of sincere curiosity and joy between young people. I loved watching this.
Swedish is pretty smooth. Often american movies make it sound super silly and have them make "Yaaa" noises and sound really off. But it's a pretty smooth and low key kind of language.

So impressed they got it right! Good job!
In the context of someone who isn't from the Nordic countries hearing it spoken Finnish really makes it sound and feel like some sort of fairytale language
Interesting you should say that. Tolkein used Finnish to construct the language of the elves for his novels.
That's interesting to hear as a finn. Because she was rambling quite a lot, like using "filler words" and such so I thought it was not the best example of finnish but seems like it hit the spot. :D
I can't handle the amount of adorableness in this video! :D I love everyone ^^
yayyy Finland🇫🇮
Same, I heard Moomin and Tove Janson. That was it😅
Koreans and Japanese people (and maybe other Asians too?) are so polite!
Another clue she was from Norway is how well she speaks English.

As a Finn it's great to see a video involving Nordic countries in some way. Wouldn't have expected to hear Finnish on this channel
it's entertaining to watch but also makes me personally a little bit sad that there is not a bit of this awe left for immigrant people who represent two or more countries equally perfectly. because of the fairytale appearance the korean teens are starstruck but imagine a korean girl sitting there, singing the swedish (?) anthem and later talking to the teens in korean. they probably wouldn't be in awe but instead i can imagine them making fun of her "weird" accent, "weird" style or being surprised that she kind of looks korean but not really like a "real" korean, forgetting the fact that this person is perfectly bilingual and has so many more qualities to offer.
with my background it's bittersweet to watch (but i'm working on it). thanks anyway for this video, it's cute :)
You are not Korean if you do not have a Korean passport. Even if you are Korean blood, if you have sweden passport, you are not Korean. Therefore, you cannot represent our country when you are not Korean.
The combination between Asia, and North, East, Central, Europeans is very special in appearance
Their english skills are pro level wow❤
It's not uncommon for Scandinavians to speak english fluently.

I love to see people from Korea, they seems nice, in kindergarden there was a girl from Korea, she was just like the rest of us but she had black hair and no language barrier, she loved to play all day like the rest of us :D

She looks like a typical Finnish young girl. Blonde with slightly Asian features. I'm curious, how does an average Norwegian look like? I know they have more brunettes than us here in Finland. 😊
She looks very Norwegian lol
the moment the girl from finland mentioned the moomins I yelled "FINLAND", the moomins were shown here in Denmark as well and I loved it, so I learned the history behind it
Finland traditional clothing has similarities to traditional Korean clothing.
I like this video idea! Learning more about other countries 💗
And none of them is a natural blonde with blue eyes 😄
In northern europe, it is very common to be born blonde (like me), but the hair gets darker as you get older. I had almost white hair and now in my 30s it's either dirty blonde or light brown depending who you are asking 😂
It’s so fun to watch it’s just like when you ask a question in english in abroad from a local they start speaking and explaining in their language I think I make the exact same face as this two koreans 😂
Sweden and Finland are more real. The Norwegian one seems like its pulled straight out of instagram.
As a Norwegian agreed. She has too much botox and stuff to look like a doll and not a real person. We have so many more beautiful girls in our country though.
Why?
Finland is soo different from scandinavian countries. The language is completely different. Swedish is closer to Spanish or Italian than Finnish
Mostly the language is different. The culture is very similar.

Strong accent on the Norwegian? that's like the least accented dialect, like the one they use on TV as it's closes to Bokmål, one of our written languages. XD
They'd get real confused if they used someone with an actual dialect :P
( similar for all of the countries really, like if they'd had someone speaking Skånska representing Sweden. :P )
I think the subtitles were a bit off on that. I don't think they meant she had a strong accent. I don't speak korean, so I don't know what they actually said, but I would guess they think norwegian has harsher or maybe clearer, more distinct sounds than swedish. But I am just guessing.
Swedish sounds softer than Norwegian, so to Korean ears it is probably like that.

Good job guys, you nailed it.
@@hackapump yeah, as a Swedish speaker im sure you can tell the difference. But i doubt a Korean who can't speak either language would.
2:44 Ah the look in her eyes. Take that you overlords, people don't even know the difference between us.

I think she is really cute (I’m from Sweden).
@@AtotehZ 😅
The second one looked wasian.
I have some of those traces in my face aswell. Northern Swedish/Finnish/Sami traits.
Asian isn't ethnicity nor nationality and Finns are still Europeans.
I've seen them use a 100% ethnic Chinese woman representing Scotland before because she was born in Scotland, so who's to say if she is or isn't wasian?
