The bones are metaphors for the relationship that just broke. She left him. "I went through the jewelry and found our wedding rings, I put mine on my finger, and I GAVE YOURS A FLING." "I'm resurrecting memories of our recent broken home/a love that's dead and gone."
Just watched the video, again enjoyed. You have videos going back 2 and 3 years and your comment that just starting to learn country music made me laugh. What have you been doing these last couple years. 😀 keep it up guys.
Good evening gentlemen, I've been a fan of yours for a few years now. Only tonight did I rediscover your channel and subscribe again. I have a request, a Duet with Mr. Travis Tritt, and Ms. Lari White, the song is Helping Me Get Over You. You won't be disappointed
This video was before the stroke, I wish he was able to sing to this level after the stroke. He can sing a line or two now but nothing like in this video, the stroke robbed everyone of his wonderful voice. Just glad he survived.
This song was written by Paul Overstreet, who wrote a lot of music for Randy Travis. He has his own recording career, check out 'My Father in Me' and 'Daddy's Come around to Mama's way of thinking ' Randy Travis check out 'Deeper than the Holler,' and 'I told you so.' John Anderson ' straight tequila night,' and ' just a swinging'
This was written by brilliant songwriter Paul Overstreet and a couple of co-writers. There is a line that says our recent broken home, so yeah she left. Two of the great voices ever.
This is the first time I've heard this version of this song and I like it. I've always liked John Anderson, he's the real deal and Randy Travis is obviously a legend
Nvr realized how similar Travis and Anderson sounded. I bet these men covering each others songs would be awesome. I saw Anderson at a county fair here in Missouri a million years ago. He was fantastic!
Randy looked tickled pink that John was on stage with him. You should try the Bellamy Brothers with John Anderson, No Country for Old Men. Thanks guys.
I'll have to look that up! I'm definitely a fan of both John Anderson and the Bellamy Brothers. I think my favorite Bellamy Brothers song is "Old Hippie". It just has such a vibe!
Another great song written or co-written by the wonderful Paul Overstreet. Other great songs he wrote are "Forever and Ever Amen" and "On The Other Hand" by Randy Travis, "Love Can Build a Bridge" by the Judds, "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" by Kenny Chesney, and "When You Say Nothing At All" by Keith Whitley.
Love this reaction. Two of my favorites together and I've never seen this. Of course, as others have noted, this is Randy's song. You need to hear Randy's original recording as well. Very enjoyable, great choice.
I agree on John’s voice and style. Always have. Same with Randy. I’m a big Jamey Johnson fan. When Chris Stapleton came out, I wanted to hear them together. Until I heard it. There is so much difference in their range and style. Still love em both.
this a Randy Travis song off one of his older albums, this performance was after Randy had had a stroke so his voice is not quite as strong. But still amazing
This song was written by Paul Overstreet. I would suggest his song "Dig Another Well". The early Randy Travis songs had a classic feel while being new. 1982 is a great song of his that I don't believe you have reacted to. My favorite John Anderson song is Chunk of Coal.
If you want to hear John Anderson more blue grassy.... "Song the Mountain Sings"... great song.. more recent so you hear a little age in his voice but great great song. Doubt it will ever be voted up so listen on your time and just enjoy.
Randy Travis was recovering from a Stroke and barely performing. You can tell her didn't have the voice or strength to do the whole song himself. But that being said John Anderson has always been one of my favorites
This was before the stroke, but he was also having issues with his health before the stroke back then. Some of it self induced unfortunately due to his alcoholism.
The Hole by Randy Travis is another one worth a listen. You guys haven't done any Diamond Rio yet either (at least I don't think you have). It's All in Your Head is a great one by them.
If you do more Randy Travis, listen to “Whisper My Name.” I don’t think it got as much airplay as some of the others but, for my money, it’s one of the best things he put out.
After Randy's stroke, his voice lacked much of its former strength & timbre. There are a number of videos where friends are helping him out performing his songs.
This performance was in Sept 2011, at his 25th anniversary of becoming a member of the Grand Ole Oprey. His stroke happened almost 2 years later, in July of 2013. Between 2010-2012 he was arrested multiple times for DUI’s & was involved in a car accident while driving while intoxicated, which caused a significant impact on his physical & singing abilities. He hasn’t been able to speak or sing more than a couple words since his stroke, which also left him paralyzed on his right side.
@@lisamccartney7573he suffered a stroke while hospitalized & undergoing treatment for viral cardiomyopathy. He was injured in a car accident couple years prior, that greatly affected his physical & vocal abilities, but his accident was due to DUI not having a stroke.
I don’t believe that she’s passed away. I caught a lyric early in the song that said something along the lines of our recently broken home. So I think she just left him.😊😊😊
The part about eating and the chicken is not part of the original recording. It's about a divorced couple, This was on Randy's Storms of Life Album. You should check out the original recording.
Kieth, I know you kinda like guitar solos😂, so from a guitar girl, if you have not looked it up you should check out vince gill, chris stapleton and kieth urban jammin together!! so cool❤! also after watchin y’all i tried woodford Res. for first time. I may just be a bourbon girl😊
It's about a love that is no longer in other words a divorce or separation of some sort. But these are not the actual lyrics to the song I guess it was just a special performance and they made up extra verses. The song is actually Randy Travis's You need to listen to the original. Randy Travis has a bunch of awesome songs, forever and ever amen Three wooden crosses... His whole 8x10 album was awesome. ❤
I know I've heard this song multiple times, but I'd never stopped and listened to the lyrics. Regardless if she left him or she died, it tells a sad story. I didn't realize how similar Randy and John's voices were. If I hadn't been watching I would definitely have missed a few handoffs! I do agree though that John sounded better than Randy, at least in this recording.
I would definitely look for an older recording of Randy singing this, before his stroke. Some other classics by these two: John Anderson - Money in the bank, Straight Tequila Night, I fell in the water Randy Travis - Is it still over, Deeper than the holler, If I didn't have you, I told you so
Randy had a stroke so after that he wasn't as strong of a singer. He also did some acting, he was in the movie Black dog with Patrick Swayze... Several movies actually.
Randy was the one who recorded the song. John might have sounded better because Randy MAY have been hitting the sauce. That might be why his performance wasn't as good. I've never heard stories of him being drunk on stage, but there have been stories of him off stage over indulging.
John Anderson - “Swinging” . Who remembers that song. And “Straight Tequila Night” - another great song by John.
Love both of these. I would love for them to react to both if they haven't already.
Love both of those
The bones are metaphors for the relationship that just broke. She left him. "I went through the jewelry and found our wedding rings, I put mine on my finger, and I GAVE YOURS A FLING." "I'm resurrecting memories of our recent broken home/a love that's dead and gone."
Exactly
John Anderson is an awesome singer himself... Randy looked very pleased that John was up there singing with him. He just let John take over. 😊❤
Just watched the video, again enjoyed. You have videos going back 2 and 3 years and your comment that just starting to learn country music made me laugh. What have you been doing these last couple years. 😀 keep it up guys.

After Randy’s stroke we are lucky he came back and can sing maybe not to his younger self, but close . And friends to help him.
This video was before the stroke, I wish he was able to sing to this level after the stroke. He can sing a line or two now but nothing like in this video, the stroke robbed everyone of his wonderful voice. Just glad he survived.

Diggin up bones is actually Randy Travis's song
This was originally Randy's song. This was just a special performance with the two of them. Great reaction to a great song
It was great to see how much fun Randy was having.
This was written by brilliant songwriter Paul Overstreet and a couple of co-writers. There is a line that says our recent broken home, so yeah she left. Two of the great voices ever.
Yes, John Anderson’s collection is a must have.
This is older Randy. I think after stroke and health issues. His original recording of this songs sounds more how John was singing on this video
Oh I like the idea of this as bluegrass. Good reaction yall.
Great reaction. John and Randy are both amazing singers. You should hear Randy singing “Promises”, with only a guitar accompaniment.
Nothing beats Randyl's voice
Love that you did this version. I love them together.
Love this reaction. Two of my favorites together and I've never seen this. Of course, as others have noted, this is Randy's song. You need to hear Randy's original recording as well. Very enjoyable, great choice.
John Andersons “Mississippi moon” and “red Georgia clay” are a must to react to.
You guys really need to react to some Ricky Van Shelton. Any song. His voice was so powerful and unique. He quit country music WAY too early.
Don't send me no angels! Yes please!
I agree on John’s voice and style. Always have. Same with Randy. I’m a big Jamey Johnson fan. When Chris Stapleton came out, I wanted to hear them together. Until I heard it. There is so much difference in their range and style. Still love em both.
One of my favorite songs by John Anderson is swinging
this a Randy Travis song off one of his older albums, this performance was after Randy had had a stroke so his voice is not quite as strong. But still amazing
John has always been one of my favorites, voice like no other.
Guys great reaction. Randy wrote a and sang it on one of his albums. You should check out black sheep of the family by John. Have a great day
Paul Overstreet wrote it I think.
I don’t know about y’all’s drink but this southern comfort is pretty good. Love y’all and keep safe
We’ve countrified them!

The phrase, digging up bones, is an old saying about digging up memories or family things that are thought to be best left alone.
Thinking yall would really enjoy the song “Moonshine” sung by the country acapella group “Home Free”!!
I heard this song in 1986 and never once thought it was about a died wife.
y’all should check out the video of Barbra Mandrell pickin! she plays multiple string instruments in the show
glad you enjoyed.
Awesome song choice, Thank You!
John is clearly country music personified
That was originally a Randy Travis's song.
Not sure when this was filmed, but in 2013 Randy had a stroke, and it really effected his ability to sing.
The Hole by Randy Travis is another one worth a listen. You guys haven't done any Diamond Rio yet either (at least I don't think you have). It's All in Your Head is a great one by them.
put his ring on, flung hers. It's crying in your beer music. Randy recorded it in the 80s when he saved country music.
If you do more Randy Travis, listen to “Whisper My Name.” I don’t think it got as much airplay as some of the others but, for my money, it’s one of the best things he put out.
Definitely a great one that I second.
Y'all really need to listen to John Anderson's Straight Tequila Night!
I have all Jhon Anderson great hit on cd. My favorite is by John Anderson is occasional eagle and you guys need to do it as a vote
Great video!
It was originally a Randy Travis song !
y’all need to hear Dolly’s cover of Seven Bridges Road!!! Eagles also did one, but Dollys is bluegrass sound.
I’ve got some good ole homemade Northeast Georgia Apple Pie Moonshine in my refrigerator right now.
Randy had a stroke & has been fighting his way back!
After Randy's stroke, his voice lacked much of its former strength & timbre. There are a number of videos where friends are helping him out performing his songs.
I thought he had throat cancer?
@@tabathacarruthers5122no he had a stroke while driving.

You were talking about measuring whiskey by fingers, check out Billy Joe Shaver's Willy The Wandering Gypsy!
Diggin up bones just means talking about the past.
Broken home....thrown ring....hints. ; )
The part about eating and the chicken is not part of the original recording. It's about a divorced couple, This was on Randy's Storms of Life Album. You should check out the original recording.
Y'all absolutely need to do Ludacris and Mary J Blige - Runaway Love
Yall have to react to Ralph Stanley and John Anderson doing I only exist together if you want to hear him in bluegrass
I have a vote for a OG John conlee his hit song rose colored glasses
Please react to John Anderson When it comes to you. Youll love it!
please react to Narvel Felts "Somebody Hold Me until She passes by.
Sitting in our broken home.
I try to watch all your videos, I just came across an oldie from John Andersen called OLD ARMY HAT.
so just being nosy but how many times have you gone back and listened to it again?
The song was originally done by Randy Travis and it’s about love gone wrong not about someone that died
Kieth, I know you kinda like guitar solos😂, so from a guitar girl, if you have not looked it up you should check out vince gill, chris stapleton and kieth urban jammin together!! so cool❤! also after watchin y’all i tried woodford Res. for first time. I may just be a bourbon girl😊
i have to say dustin looked a little like a kid in a candy store when you mentioned the artist, had to chuckle a little.
That song was randy Travis original song
from AUS would love to hear UP THERE HOPOATE by BUDDY GOODE
Somebody Hold Me Until She passes By . Narvel Felts
No amount of AI can make Randy Travis sing the way he once did 😢
They got divorced but he still digging up those memories from that marriage.
The funny part about the chicken wasn’t a part of the real song. 😂
I noticed that too! I was like I don’t know that verse!!
@@tinakeith5822 I thought "what is THIS verse???" lol

I didn't realize how similar Randy and John's voices were. If I hadn't been watching I would definitely have missed a few handoffs! I do agree though that John sounded better than Randy, at least in this recording.
I think it was the arrangement that made it a "John" song.
I would definitely look for an older recording of Randy singing this, before his stroke. Some other classics by these two:
John Anderson - Money in the bank, Straight Tequila Night, I fell in the water
Randy Travis - Is it still over, Deeper than the holler, If I didn't have you, I told you so
I suggest Head Case - Cody Jinks.
Randy had a stroke so after that he wasn't as strong of a singer. He also did some acting, he was in the movie Black dog with Patrick Swayze... Several movies actually.
give him a break that mason jar didn't come with a pour spout in it lol.
I wanna see y'all try Leadslingers Burbon and as for a song pick something patriotic
Yall need to check out zach top immediately!! Hes digging up traditional country music and bringing it back to save everyone from this new era bs
RECENT broken home...
Check out Jimmy Dean big bad john
Its about a broken relationship.
Randy was the one who recorded the song. John might have sounded better because Randy MAY have been hitting the sauce. That might be why his performance wasn't as good.
I've never heard stories of him being drunk on stage, but there have been stories of him off stage over indulging.
Hey keith sorry for the trauma keith, hope it did not linger. But i think you underestimate the many uses behind a mason jar.
It isn't easy working 'exhuming' into a song. "Bones" are his memories. You look so confused.
I want to bribe you guys and set up a pickup at your local store. I just need to know how to contact you so i can get the link to the video to you
