When it came to the wall jumping that those creatures show you, I was stuck on that for the longest time and thought you needed some upgrade for that. Now I know better. Don't know why I never figured that out until I watched this video. Thanks for posting. I miss this game.
Honestly, I have no clue on how you're supposed to understand the very precise mechanics of wall jumping by just watching the creatures (the etcoons). But even though I technically knew how to do the wall jump the first time I played this game I still ended up stuck there for probably 2 hours. I'm glad you got some insight into the wall jump though and thanks for watching! Also, Super metroid shouldn't be too hard to get a hold of these days.
7:10: I got this game three years ago and I’ve been playing it for a while and I’ve never seen this secret room before. I saw there was a door leading to somewhere but I could never figure out where…
Thanks for this. Its the best walk-through video i have found. I had been using a different one until i found yours. The fact that you have commentary makes it even better. The other one had no commentary, which makes yours entertaining on top of informative. The only thing that would have been better is if you were able to do it all in one vid, instead of parts. Overall though, great vid. 2 thumbs up! 👍🏽👍🏽👌
Thank you! Back when I made this walkthrough I think the norm was still do do games in parts, but I agree with you, one full video would have been better.
What about that pathway below the area where you learn how to shinespark? I see an item there and I've been trying to figure out how to get to that area for days with no luck. I have the scope but can't find any hidden areas surrounding it.
Why didn't you rescue the bird? ='( But also, I usually complete this game with like 96% item collection so thank you for showing me the obscure upgrades I didn't remember!
15:31 is it possible to get across past all the trigger gates? I tried getting across but only managed to get past the first gate without any power ups.
No, you need the speed booster. There is a trick called the "mock ball" that will let you through all of them without any power ups (except the morph ball) but that's for speed running and outside the scope of the walkthrough.
Thanks for this very good walkthrough. At 10.30, to perform this "wall jumping", do Samus need a specific item / skill? Because I did not do all the same steps like you before reaching this area, and I feel completely stuck (It is no possible to escape via another way).
No, she doesn't need any items to walljump. It's purely skill based and requires the fairly precise inputs I explained in the video. If you're stuck, just give it some time to practice the inputs and if I couldn't explain it good enough there are plenty of other videos on walljumping. Also, I think I showed you an easier way out of that area which should only require 1 walljump, 2 at most in case you're really struggeling. Good luck and hopefully you get out of there!
Hey when u showed the room with the monster who shows how to shine sprite you said it was a save room how ever that not the case it’s a energy recharge room
I'm trying to wall jump & still can't. What buttons do you press to do it. I'm trying to press the jump button & d-pad, but it's not helping. Can someone please help me?
You’re probably pressing the d-pad and jump button at the same time. You press away from the wall (d-pad) a split second before pressing the jump button. It is pretty tricky to get down though so don’t be discouraged if you can’t get it right away.
So shinesparking early, before the game teaches you, is ok? But walljumping before the game teaches you isn't? It really sucks because I thought I finally found a no skip run on RUclips.... you should consider redoing this run without ANY skips.
I'll try to make my though-process clear, at least for the time it was made: The game will expect you to shinespark later in Maridia for a missile pack which means that if you want to get all the items sooner or later you will have to learn how to shinespark. As far as I know there is no other way to get that missile pack. Therefore, I taught it in this video so that I could show a, imo, comfortable way to get this annoying missile pack. However I tried to utilize the shinespark as few times as I felt necessary. Secondly, I think it's up to debate when you should "officially" use the shinespark and the walljump. From the moment you start the game you have the ability to walljump, and the same is true for the shinespark the moment you pick up the speedbooster. Also, I could have gone all the way back to Brinstar to formally learn it as soon as I got the speedbooster, picking up the ice beam on the way, so again, when you offically learn shinesparking and if it should be considered a skip seems subjective to me. Lastly, I won't use walljumping for any expansions. It's not necessary for anything in the game so I only talk about it breifly where the etcoons are (If I remember correctly). If it would have been, I would most likely have taught that early on as well. Hopefully you can see how I resoned there. Thanks for the critique though, and I'll take that into consideration if I remake it (which I have thought about).

I tried to do some wall jumping based on the creatures but didn't manage to do the jump. But the vid helped to explain how to do the jump.
Instructions unclear, I exploded myself.
8:08 "I guess I should show this"
Thanks for showing that, it really helped.
At 4:57 you can actually freeze one of those creatures, use it as a platform, and then hi-jump into the tube. Found it much easier that way.

Thanks a lot, I'm feeling like a wall jump pro now
Haha, great! Make sure to use it anywhere you can.
the midair morph ball was so much harder than the wall jumps
Yeah, the midair morph can be tricky since you generally want to conserve your momentum while morphing.
Yes I have wall jumped up this thing a ton but cannot get my ball in that hole! Giving up!
Almost lost my fickin mind on that dam cross jumping shit !
those wall jumps are harder than dark souls

You use a powerbomb in the area with the chozo staute holding the charge beam. I get there in part 6 around the 5:30 minute mark.
@@mysticinvasion Thanks. I found it in another video, but the guy didn't have the gravity suit, so he couldn't run underwater 😅
I can’t seem to open that metallic door in brinstar, the one that has the grapple hook and opens the path to an energy tank. Any advice?
You need the wave beam. It will let you shoot through solid objects.
If you don't know where it is I get it at the end of part 3.
7:50 Finally! lol. Couldn't figure it out but knew it was from another room to get out that door.
Why didn't you rescue the bird? ='(

@@mysticinvasion good you mentioned it. I was trying to go through them by just running for like 30min lol
I dont know how anyine can beat this game especially a first timer, without any help or tutorial. Definitely not 100%. Again, thanks for the vids.
6:18
the bit where u shot thru the door dosnt work 4 me i play on nintendo switch btw
Make sure you have the wave beam, and if so make sure you have it equipped
@@taylorco64 ohhhhh
tysm i didnt know u needed it
ty
Now I know I need the wave beam. thanks.

How do you jump, roll in the air, go through the crack & get the power bomb. It's really frustrated.
Nevermind. I just got it.
I'm stuck on tryna do the shine spark. What buttons do you press to do it?
@@gregoryfoose4623 Once the speed booster is activated you press down then when you press the jump button she will do the shinespark.
Why can't I open the door at 4:37
O love Metroid ❤️
I can’t pull off the mid air ball jump at 12:39. Had to be an easier way
Don’t think there is, sadly.
You could come back with the space jump but would still have to morph mid-air just the same.
@ wow thanks for response. Great vids!
5:17 hey you gonna wait? you never came back
Wait where do I bet the spin jump I'm so damn confused I am stuck trying to jump with those little guys
HEY WAIT YOU DIDNT SHOW US HOW YOU GOT THE GRAPPLER???
after you get the power bombs head down to norfair and do some stuff there
He did
Thanks!
that is one thing i hate about this game is making what should be the simplest shit to dot hat difficult when we already have the bosses to deal with
How do you shoot those door lock when they are on the other side?
You can shoot through them when you have the wave beam.
That wall jump is booty 😭
I'm hoping to god there better not be anyone Wall jumping if so I'm stopping
I freed the bird and it's mad

Bro using cheats man wtf
Now I'm curious to know what made you think I'm using cheats.
No it's pure skill you just need to get good I don't usually say that but this aint cheating son
