Andreas Noraberg probably around the 25th anniversary of the Fellowship film release. Peter has all but hinted at it for years. I imagine it will be released Christmas 2026. He will add even more scenes. There is a scene that shows what happened to the fellowship after Bilbo & Frodo sail to the Undying Lands. Even in the extended edition they show a brief clip of Gimli & Legolas searching for treasures. Gimli holds a jewel up to eye looking to appraise it & Legolas is scene in the forest. Even watching the extended versions, you can tell scenes are cut & edited. He will pretty much throw in everything that was filmed. Cannot wait because that will be the sickest Christmas gift of all.
Unedited? As the scenes aren't in order, and it includes all the several dozen takes of the same scenes? That won't be a 6-hour version. That will be a 6-month version. Editing includes putting the scenes in the correct order and sorting out the good takes from the bad takes. Remember that.
@@Thor.Jorgensen Ah, good point. It'll be bizzarely hilarious to see each scene a dozen times! But if we took the best take from each scene and ordered them, what would that be called then? I think that would be the most "extended" version that would make sense.
@@rubenpartono Right... But a lot of it wouldn't make sense. Because it would include scenes that later turn out to have been removed and treated as "oh yeah that thing? that never happened" without ever explaining that to the viewer. Like when Sauroman goes to the Shire and burns the Shire down to steal a bunch of product, particularly pipeweed. But then we return to the Shire, and the Shire is completely untouched. Or if we are to say Frodo turns into a Gollum-like creature, but then in the next scene, he's back to normal. It would also include scenes where something happens twice or thrice but in different locations. The entire thing would make no sense at all. It would be confusing as hell.
@@Thor.Jorgensen I didn't mean for the plot to make sense. Just for it to make sense as the the limits of an extremely extended version that the fans would want. But I do think that many fans will surprise me here :).
It needed Gimli in Fangorn and Legolas in the Glittering caves, like they promised to each other. Nothing shows more their freindship than the dwarf in the woods and the elf in the caves. And that is canon even.
YES..... I know there are a lot of complaints about the million endings to Return of the King but they're all so important! And we never got a real closing scene for Gimli or Legolas. These short clips are so sweet :')
@@Ben-fl6rf not really, since Legolas never left his homeland, before he came to Rivendell. That was first time he actualy met Noldorin elves. Only Sam has lesser pedigre in fellowship if we compare their status in their own nations.
True but remember when things are subjected to reshoots it causes redudance of material. The Fellowship of the ring movie appears to have the most deleted material by far. Even though Peter Jackson claimed it was the easiest book to translate due to it being a road movie style it had the most changes in terms of quickening the pace and it is also the shortest extended edition. Quite a bit of material was moved from fellowship to the two towers but even then there is still more... The main parts which were trimmed were for violence and pacing. 1. Gil Ghaled incineration and some fighting in prologue. 2. Council of Elrond / Rivendell shortened. A dinner where frodo is asked by Elrond if he is comfortable with the fellowship that has been formed. An extended farewell. 3.travelling to and down from Cahadras trimmed. 4.Moria the first great Hall was Removed / trimmed 5.Orcs chase fellowship in to forrest then an extended journey with Haldir showing Dol Godur in the distance. Galadriel Mirror shortened showing Gandalf and more scouring of the shire. 6. After the set for the landing station was destroyed for Sarn Gebir Rapids they stole footage from the Amon Hen Battle shortening the fight scenes instead of intercutting between the Uruks and the boats it would intercut between Aragorn fighting and Uruks running onward. The Sarn Genir sequence gone 2 options were cited orcs attack at night from the shoreline with no rapids and a skirmish or Sarumens crows spot the boats on the river before nightfall. The crows scene was shot and in the film but they never put in the cgi crows.
@@thomasmain5986 actually sauron had a physical form again, at least in the books. I think gollum states that "he has only nine fingers on his hands" And denethor speculates that the dark lord himself could come to Minas tirith in his hour of triumph, when the battle is over. Also pippin "saw" sauron through the palantir, but here it is not quite clear what "seeing" means. Those things indicate for me that he had a physical form at that time.
@@joniskates He had a physical form just not in the Third age, he was trying to take form, hence his ejection from Dol Guldor in Mirkwood. And his portrayal as a lidless eye, if he had regained the ring then he could have taken physical form and Middle Earth would have been screwed, the Elves had declined, and the world of men was declining they were not the same as the men of Numenor. So their was only one chance to defeat Sauron and that was to destroy the ring, fortunately Sauron never saw it coming, he could never believe that anyone would, destroy power, rather than take power.
@@thomasmain5986 I recall reading or hearing that the main reason they turned him into a troll was because if it had been him fighting Sauron, the focus of the scenes would have shifted to Aragorn's personal fight with Sauron, rather than the Hobbits at Mt. Doom.

@@KalonOrdona2 Youre not going to find mainstream Hollywood making film like this. They’re more concerned with afflicting damage to people they hate and spreading propaganda.
If you watch the storyboard of the prologue Gimli looking at the Jewel is pictured and I also have a feeling that the shot of Legolas is from the prologue too when talking of elves. The Prologue seems to have started life as narrated by Frodo then it was shifted to Gandalph telling the story to Frodo at Bag end and Elrond at Rivendell then it went back to the original idea as an opening prologue but shortened and narrated by Galadriel, but Elrond kept his part of the split and Gandalf Kept only the Torture of Gollum part. Furthurmore the Prologue at Dagorland was shot in 2 styles a Ralph Baski Sepia type Shadow style and full color fully lit. On top of this the full color footage on location looked small scale which probably required some Bluescreen re-shoots to expand the background. The smaller scale version would have been an insurance should the massive simulation software not had been ready or adequete. So the Prologue is quite a big part of lots of excised footage of which you can probably expect 4 or five iterations of Dagorland Battle but the Legolas and Gimli shots seem to fit the introduction to elves and Dwarves not their ending.
Missing the all time most devastating lost scene, Eowyn and Faramir’s wedding, where Ngila Dickson said that Eowyn’s dress was the most intricate and her favorite costume of the entire trilogy. Miranda posted a photo of her and David in their wedding costumes but we’ve never seen footage of the wedding itself or even it’s filming.
I recently re-watched all movies with my younger son. They are 20 yrs old now, it is absolutely remarkable how they hold up. Every scene is a meme, every moment is memorable, every dialogue is interesting, every effect still looks awesome, the cast is phenomenal, they are masterworks of your time.
Actually, if you've read the silmarillion, you would know about the races of the Lands of Cast and Crew. They had to cut them from the final edit because they don't drive the plot. Only real tolkien fans know about this...
I'm not sure if I'm crying because of the songs or because of the fact that I still haven't seen all the content of lotr. This video is gold to any lotr fan
Yeah wtf is that bullshit. I hope this isn't all thats in the 4K edition. They should have added way more like the Marvel stuff. even if its incomplete
Sad part is that the actor playing him did Say the battle was filmed longer but they didnt include Sauron burning His corpse because it was "Too brutal"
@@Berserk096-z6v Gil-Galad is also not really explored in the LoTR, and in the movie prologue focusing on his death would be superfluous, because most viewer's wouldn't know who he was, or understand why his death was important. It would definitely have given even more of a sense of foreboding concerning Sauron and his overwhelming power, but when run-time is already extending so far, you can't have everything. Honestly I don't know if it would be too brutal for modern audiences, but back then I imagine it might have caused some controversy, I feel that it was a combination of being a little darker in tone than the FoTR portrayed while also being an unnecessary scene to the core experience. I'd still like to see it in the extended edition though!
That feeling when you think that you've watched everything about LotR you could. And having found new unseen complilation you are happy like a child)) I want more!!! It would be great event when P. J. could make the release of the Most Complete Final Cut of every part that could include ALL
my thoughts exactly!! it's like how much more of Middle-Earth are we missing??? seems a lot more!!!! i found Arwen at Helms Deep and Frodo transforming into Gollum the most shocking of them all!! i had no idea then even considered those scenes!!
In the director commentary Jackson has said that they will release a 25th anniversary edition that will include every deleted scene. Let's hope he keeps to this. I want a 5 hour cut of Fellowship!
Just imagine it, everyone is sweaty, pent up, probably kinda pissed to be wearing all of those heavy ass costumes and armor. The smoke machine guy is fogging up your vision, the sun is on your back 24/7, cameras are moving in your way and the director is yelling directions left and right to get the perfect shot. The end result? A thousand times better than what any CGI work could ever accomplish. This is what makes the real sets, costumes, and choreography so damn intriguing and fun to watch, the fact that they actually entered the world of Middle-Earth for that one moment in their lives to make these unforgettable scenes.
@@woodenlock2215 CGI doesn't suddenly mean that everyone was lazy and frankly it's disgusting that you think so. People worked hard to get those effects made.
Aragorn vs Sauron would've been unreal to see... Annie Lennox "Into the West" ALWAYS makes me cry. A friend of mine was a massive LotR fan, died of Leukaemia and it was played at his funeral. It's a gorgeous song.
They should release a version with the Scenes that were finished but decided to not put it into the movies. All fans can agree we dont mind a extended of extended
I would go as far to say even perhaps try a smaller scale sarn gebir rapids insert.... it could be simply a few pot shots from orcs from the cliffs then the boats speeding off down the rapids lasting 10 - 15 seconds. I would not want anything too extravegent but that would be a ultimate edition or finishing off the concepts. Just an attack and a hasty escape. Then when night falls we might catch an unclear distant glimpse of a Nazgul on wings for which Legolass aims at in case it turns in their direction but does not fire....The Nazgul goes into cloud cover and vanish without spotting them.
They cant add the scouring of the shire now though doesn't fit within the films story, its sad because it robs Merry and Pippin of their victory there. The films are still a triumph of everything that Tolkien could have dreamed of or written and i still go back and watch them over and over but trying to add more i feel would be a disservice to what is already there.
@@ridstock9663 - The films wouldn't be improved by the inclusion of the scouring, and the same holds true for Bombadil and the Barrow-wights. The focus of the movie is the narrative of the story, the growth of the characters - specifically Frodo and Sam - and the epic journey that is the quest of the ring and the unity of the fellowship. The destruction of the ring is _THE_ payoff of the story, the obvious climax, and adding another B-plot in the middle of the masterfully crafted winding-down that follows would be a disservice to the film as a whole. Using it as a vision of "what could come to pass" was a good way to reference it and acknowledge to fans that it's a thing. But while the focus of the movie is the narrative of the ring-quest, the focus of the _books_ is the worldbuilding of Middle-Earth. Tolkien lingers on small details constantly and uses his words and poems to describe everything from the mundane to the awe inspiring. He can take detours to the barrow-downs for a side-adventure that shows where the hobbits get their weapons without worrying about the pacing, because it's the fact this place and the wights exist at all that matters. Tom's place in the world and his cottage is mysterious and engaging as a reader learning more about the world itself, but he does literally nothing for the narrative (they even gave his scene with Old Man Willow to Trebeard, though I think that's extended edition only). Film as a medium wants cohesive actions that flow neatly together. The books major focus was building a cohesive world for those actions to take place in. The fact that Jackson adapted so much of the book without hitting the pitfalls of adaptation is what makes the movies a work of genius in their own right. Books and film are different mediums, and need to be treated as such.
@@KingBobXVI But dude, we all have seen the movies dozens and dozens of times, we know the (intended) story, heck, we can recite the (almost) all lines with any actor from memory. That shot of the Moria goblins chasing the fellowship at 1:53 is present in many promotional material, it always bothered me how it was never included.
I know right ? It was also in the scene with the games as well and more orc shots in Minas Tirith as well. It would make sense since Aragorn mentioned that there would be orcs and goblins swarming everywhere soon if they don't leave the mountain near Moria . Wish that scene would've been added . And of course all the others
@Ryan Sharp well it's hard to say what's right what's not with the Uruk and Orc and Goblin situation. Aragorn said orcs while Legolas said goblins in the entrance in Moria then said orcs in the room where Balins Tomb was lol imo the ones that hunch really low and are able to crawl like roaches on walls like the ones in the first Hobbit movie Unexpected Journey with the Goblin King they do that in the Fellowship of the ring as well the ones in Moria . Those to me they're goblins . When I see uruks I think of the ones from Mount Gundabad in the Battle of the 5 Armies that Bolg led from the North . Bolg and Azog are also Gundabad Uruks . Big guys . I think of the black Uruks in Mordor. Shagrat for example , the one that was fighting Gorbag in the Cirith Ungol Tower ( Gorbag is the orc that attempted to stab Frodo in Return of the King but Sam stabbed the Gorbag first) he was a tall guy . Or of course my favourite the most fiercest army Sarumans Isenguard Uruk-Hai . Those are true uruks . Orcs I think of mostly Mordor orcs like the ones that attempted to eat Merry and Pippin in the Two Towers or the ones that were helping Saruman out and pulling down Trees in the Fellowship of the Ring movie . Most of the ones you see in the Pelennor Fields battle are basically orcs . The Black Gate battle as well mostly all orcs . In my mind Goblins are small , Orcs are Medium and Uruks are Large . That's my sort of thinking for them . To me they're all different
@Ryan Sharp kind of like that it's like comparing almost like hobbits and men and men to dwarves type of thing . Male means man as well but there's male dwarves and hobbits and stuff like that but Men are considered different like a race as well . Like Gondorian Men , Rohirrim Men , Numenorean Men etc and so on . Than you have Dwarves . Moria Dwarves , Erebor Dwarves and Iron hills Dwarves etc . It's kind of like fingers and thumbs as well is probably the best way of saying it . All thumbs are fingers but not all fingers are thumbs . All goblins are orcs but not all orcs are goblins . There's a species thing too it as well like you said . Cause there's Misty Mountain Goblins and Moria Goblins sort of situation , Mordor and Angmar Orcs and Angband Orcs . Gundabad Uruks , Isenguard Uruks etc . Tolkien made it very unique and large for races , Species and that sort of thing . It's hard to believe it was behind one man lol . There's so many parts I haven't even touched on yet but yeah there's so much to talk about this concept .
It would have been too much. We've just seen Gandalf fall - our brains are overloaded. We wouldn't be able to care about more chasing and fighting. It would bludgeon the viewer senseless. We need a quiet period of reflection, and we get it in the finished version.
This shows the actors went through a journey making these films. The weather, the takes, and time spent together. If any book series at all has been done justice by the movies, its LOTR.
I am glad they did not put Sauron in, The Return of the King. Him not being fully revived to fight against Aragon brings more mysticism to his character.
That materialization from light to his beautiful form then to dark lord form was pretty nice. Despite that it had no sense cause he was no longer beautiful Maiar :p
@@osrictemper4225 it's kind of a pity though, because a Maiar is an angel and it would have been cool to see Sauron's archenemies being fascinated and kinda awestruck at the sight of his angelic form. A beautiful reminder of who they were fighting against, it makes you wonder what the world has lost when Sauron turned evil
@@JohnDoe-dj3lw it would be completely different movie, I'm glad they removed it and they know why, the movie is not about Sauron but about the ring and Aragorn is just a side plot the main plot is Frodo and Sam. Aragorn is basically sacrificing himself to give Frodo some more time. And what if Aragorn killed Sauron what then?
More importantly the whole point of Aragorn's fight was that it was entirely meant to be about Frodo and not about Sauron. Having him face off against Sauron in the flesh would've diminished the inspiring and selfless nature of that act
Tbh I kinda think it would have worked, the final battle at the black gates needed 'something'. It just seemed over too quickly and besides some brief cgi wideshots we never got a proper sense of the brutality and suicidal nature of the battle, all the groups of men standing up together to fight pure evil at its very front door. And I think it could have worked as they mentioned how the battle at the front gate took saurons complete attention and maybe could have helped him manifest a physical form or something, I thought they talked about how he was getting close to coming back or something. I think it would have been a great reveal and added a great climax, especially if they showed the bleak nature of just how unequipped an exhausted aragorn and his army were at fighting a fresh legion of orcs and monsters. I also wish we got to see a proper scene of the easterlings fighting in ground battle. We see them entering the black gate in two towers then never see them again. The evil men riding on the oliphaunts looked like they were harad soldiers not easterlings like I often see people say.
What I love about The Lord of the Rings is that there are few if any casual fans. We're all so completely taken by LotR that nobody would ever have complaints about the films getting too long
I hate the disrespect to the hobbit movies. How can someone love LotR but hate the hobbit ??? Thats like someone loving star wars but hates the prequels. Ok the sequels were very bad but I made my point clear
I agree completely! Back in the day though, when the films were released on cinemas, some people didn't know what they had signed up for and found the 3-plus hours a tad long. Also, most films where 1h30 min long at that time!
I would've liked to have seen Aragorn Vs Sauron... for me, only having watched the movies, was a bit confused as to what Sauron actually was (leader witch king? A spirit/entity? Just the eye?) so it would've cleared things up a bit. Also it would've proceeded his ancestor's battle and tied well to the beginning events... I don't know what's more canon regardless 🤷♂️😀
@@yaffajaff Sauron was a Miar spirit the same as Gandalf & the other wizards. He was a Lt. of Morgoth in the 1st age, and he took over fighting for Middle Earth after Morgoth was defeated. He helped bring about the destruction of Numenor & created the rings of power because he doesn't like to fight. He preferred to manipulate others into doing his bidding rather than by force of arms. After the one ring was destroyed, Sauron doesn't technically die, his spirit becomes so weak its no longer a threat.

I wish they included the scenes where Fellowship and others interact more with each other. In the books, even Galadriel speaks with Treebeard and in the movies, Legolas only says "You have my bow" to Frodo.
@@SealofApprovalTWU Not discuss, but speak? Like, talk about how the situation of Middle Earth depends on the Frodo and the One Ring. (Frodo does talk stuff like this, if I remember correctly)
A lot of the actual fellowship between the party was cut out of the books too. Mostly the only conversations that "Frodo" wrote down(as we know the LOTR series is conically written by Frodo from his perspective and knowledge of the events) we're only the important to mention ones. I'm sure though, if Tolkien intended more of Frodo and legolas' relationship to be shown in the book or if it was more important, than he would have.

So that is why the Elven army came from Rivendell. It makes little sense in the final movie, but I'm glad they cut Arwen out of it. There is no way Elrond would send his only daughter, who was probably already starting to fade at this point, into a situation of almost certain death! I'm quite surprised by the Aragorn vs Sauron scene. I've heard of it already, I just didn't realise the angelic illusion was probably Sauron's initial form before he became totally evil.
Tatiana Pellegrinelli I reckon it would’ve been better if Arwen led the army, because it would’ve been a beautiful comparison to Lúthien- hers and Aragorn’s elven ancestress, who likewise began to fade due to the love felt for the mortal Beren, yet she joined in battle against Melkor and Sauron protect him. The angelic form Sauron takes is Annatar, the form Sauron used to deceive the elves of Eregion into helping him forge rings of power.
@@cthonisprincess4011 In the first movie we see Arwen as a bit of a fighter and a good rider. Then for the rest of the films we just see her not fighting or anything just having chats with her father.
These goblins killed in Lothlorien. I have seen photo from this scene in some booklet many years ago. Almost 20 I think. And now is first time I have seen the scene from which this image was taken. In all other compilations and materials about removed scenes I have seen or read through the years there was even no mention about these goblins in Lothlorien. Awsome to finally see it after so many years. When I see all this scenes, how well this movies were made, how insane amount of work went into props and characterization and location scouting, I am sad that we didn't get 6 movies then. For some it could seem a lot, but so much content from the books was ignored that it would be enough for 6 good movies.
Thank you soooo much, this was great ! I see Ewoyn in a different light, I knew she was brave and could fight but the scene in the caves showed what a warrior she really is. Remind me not to piss her off. Billy Boyd has a beautiful voice, the song makes me feel sad and I just watched the whole trilogy a few days ago and started with An Unexpectant Journey. This video makes me want to go back with Bilbo and Frodo on their adventures.
i agree man, the choreography could have been toned down some and not have her be some jane wick with a sword. but still, i would have loved to see her do something similar like maybe have set some traps along the save system and after taking on one or two she would start giving ground and leading them into various hazards in a desperate last ditch effort to buy time
@@PuffyJetsnake She doesnt really need to have any more screentime because she doesnt have that much of a role in the books aside from being a shield maiden who proves her battle worthiness by killing the most dangerous and feared enemy on the Ork side which is pretty great.

Some scenes only in the Extended Version are in the game as well (like Gandalf meeting the Witch King). It was weird seeing the theatrical cut and not seeing that pivotal scene in it.
These scenes are so, so good! Eowyn fighting orcs in the glittering caves was so cool, she really was the women and kids' last line of defense down there, and Frodo turning into Gollum and wounded Merry would have been real tear-jerkers.
The uruks in Glittering Caves are so tryharding to loose against her. You can see actors aiming sword WAY not into her, freezing the attack, and waiting to get stabbed. This scene is awful. Not to mention, uruks are described as unusually strong creatures who can easily defeat a regular soldier, but here we can see a woman fighting a few of them at once.
@@Halera- Uh.... not sure you know this, but that's how most film fights are done. Exactly the same as when Aragorn, or anyone else, would have fought them. Also not sure if you have noticed, but Eowyn isn't a "regular soldier". She killed the Witch King.
@@Halera- Maybe you're so used to it that you no longer notice it, but watch Aragorn vs the entire raiding party of Uruks in Fellowship again, or Aragorn and Gimli leaping on the bridge at Helms Deep and soloing the army. Every fight in these movies concerning main characters involves the orcs or uruks missing or just standing there. We even see Eowyn do the same thing at Pelenor fields in the extended edition, so why couldnt she do it here?
@@Jayrage Yes, I know most film fights are done that way (not only this movie, not only this genre). So, this still counts towards my disagreement for "Eowyn fighting orks was cool". And still a scene can have bad fight choreography on different levels. This one has horrible one. And what is more, bad choreography can be excused a little by the plot. If a character is said to be an exceptional warrior on a scale of the whole worlds, we can take enemy actors letting being killed as a show off of the character skill.
The cut Lorien stuff hurts the most for me. If I remember correctly the Elves were supposed to play a big part in the battle of Amon Hen, but an unfortunate storm flushed away the set they were going to film on.
Never knew they had intention to put Arven in the battle for Helm's Deep... and in Lothlorien! One day I may find out they considered her as a fellowship member as well)) Thanks for the compilation man!
Well I would assume that they had the scenes of Elrond and Arwen in Lorien so Elrond could urge Celeborn to send help to Helms Deep and Arwen decides to go with the Galahdrim
Yeah, that was the original plan. Arwen would have been the one to bring the Elves of Lothlórien to reinforce Helm's Deep, rather than Haldir. However this was one of the changes I'm REALLY glad was cut. It would have stretched the Lore much too far (sadly, it's the a lesson they forgot for the Hobbit).
@@Ambaryerno I am very glad they cut Arwen, but without her it does make the presence of the elves at Helm's Deep a bit strange. I could never work out why they decided to include them until I learned of their original intentions with Arwen
While it would've been cool to see her fight orcs in Towers, it made it much more satisfying when Eowyn finally goes to battle, you finally get a payoff to that aspect of her arc.
True. It would indeed be cool but then we would miss that moment when she sees battle for the first time, after wishing to be in one for ever, going ''oh shit'' for a heartbeat and then finding her courage soon afterwards. It does make a more compelling arc.
@SamTheMan2 I hardly disagree we needed Eowyn. Either her or Arwen. it doesn't have to be both but why did Peter Jackson give us neither like come on man
@SamTheMan2 Oh please. Maybe you should actually WATCH the movies before commenting. Arwen did NOT "fight off" the Ringwraiths at the river. She RAN to the river, and called up a spell that ALREADY EXISTED (it was placed on the Bruinen by Elrond, she just triggered it). And Arwen DID. NOT. BELONG at Helm's Deep. It goes COMPLETELY against the story and would have made no frelling sense. Eowyn was plenty bad ass, and having her help fend off the Uruk-hai in the caverns would have just helped established those credentials in advance of Return of the King.
why does this feel like a short video they would play at high school graduations where they look back at the time we all spent together........ whos cutting onions again?
The biggest problem with The Hobbit was that it was almost all on sets or CGI sets. Some sets are necessary, but they should have done more practical locations.
Other than about two seconds in the extended edition. Seriously, Gil-Galad appears more in the Two Towers video game prologue level than he does in the actual film of Fellowship.
Well, some of they are extras on the discs of the Extended Edition, they are just not named or ordered -the work this channel did ordering them chronologically and linking them together is quite an amazing work- as for the master shots themselves, it would be amazing to have them -sometimes we can see the actual intended shots like in Gandalf arriving to the shire or the orcs in Lothlorien but others like the Dagorlad armies or Eowyn fight you only see making of material-. So while this is all the scenes that you can find, theorically the RAW material just of these scenes is far more than this.
@@DDevospartan I simply would like to see them under a name of deleted scenes with completed effects (if done) and with a complete montage so that we can make fan editions. I still think and hope that we will get an ultimate cut editions on the 25th anniversary....
I recently bought the extended edition and I’m sad to know there was a whole fight sequence with Eowyn and Arwen at Helm’s deep that was completely left out. It would’ve portrayed these characters with more dignity than a token love interest or female side lead.
So you think that a few seconds of "bad ass" female warriors lends more dignity than an immortal giving up that immortality to marry for love? Or that the female member of the Rohirrim royal house leads and protects her people when the menfolk are fighting, leading to personal frustration, the breaking of her uncle's command and eventually the death of Angmar. Nah, kill a couple of extras!
The characters already had dignity. One gave up her immortality to be with the man she loved and the other killed (with the help of a hobbit) a powerful being that could not be defeated by elves, men and wizards. Killing a couple of orcs is insignificant compared to such acts of bravery.
The glittering caves scene looks awesome, but it kind of makes the whole final stand in the hornberg illogical. While the gang are shacked up trying to come up with a plan, the women and children are getting massacred in the caves. It works better if the caves are beyond the Hornberg.
But as you can see many of them got through, the entire fort was overrun so naturally i'm sure a few of them were like aite boys let's explore some more!

I would give a lot for a few things. The Lord of the Rings is a big exception. Even in the games of that time there were film sequences that unfortunately could not even be seen in the extended version. Every new scene would be worth gold. Just for fun, the topic that no two women have a conversation in any of the films. If I see the picture with Arwen and Galadriel that alone would be a scene. I regret that there is no final confirmation and, to be honest, I don't quite believe it will come true, but if it is to come that way, it would no doubt be just fantastic. And if a part lasted five hours, all the better. The Lord of the Rings is a true masterpiece for all time. Cheers to Peter Jackson and the whole crew.
@Virtual Pro Wrestling Matches You're a simpleton, quite a dick, for talking this way to this person. I enjoyed the video, it's peaceful and I'm happy someone out there is putting all those scenes together for us to see here ;)

Incredible how many bullets they were able to dodge... Some of these scenes were deleted for a good reason as they would have diverged too much from the source material and could have ruined the atmosphere of the movies. I think Jackson managed to make all the right choices with the scenes
The Legolas and Arwen in Rivendel scene hardly appears as a scene the film and looks as if it was just a behind the scenes moment. In the Elrond In Lothlorien scene, is that Celeborn and Haldir with Elrond? Beautiful, and socially lovely from the Girls In Lothlorien scene. Amazing, impressive, lovely, and protective Eowyn is with her sword fighting the Uruk-Hai. Glad that she actually got to do some fighting in The Two Towers. 16 kills of Uruk-Hai she made. Another amazing, is where Arwen does a bit of fighting. The Wounded Merry and Gimli and Legolas at the Black Gate scenes are shown in The Lord Of The Rings Return Of The King game. At what moment was the scenes of, Close up on, Eowyn, at 5:25, and Eomer with a spear, at 5:26, suppose to be at in Return Of The King? I wish we could've seen or know what happens next for Eowyn, Faramir, Eomer, and other people we don't see majorly. Beautiful how Arwen is at Lothlorien with her Grandmother, Galadriel. Another beautiful unused or deleted scene is Arwen and Elrond. Amazing there, at More Battle of Minas Tirith, being more screenshots with the Fell Beast. I thought Gil Galad was killed amongst others by Sauron swinging his mace and not in a solo way like with Elendil.
Eowyn's scenes would of been epic, gutted it wasn't Included, maybe they will release another version.
3 года назад
Although this scene would have been epic, it would have been difficult to include it without breaking the climax with the final ride of Theoden and Aragorn and the epic charge of the Rohirim leaded by Eomer and Gandalf. I really don't know where this deleted scence could be inserted.
Wow this is definitely the most complete one I've ever seen. Any chance I could repost this on another site? Most of us in China have no access to RUclips.
I really treasure getting to see those scenes; thank you! I will admit, though, that the one of Frodo turning into Gollum freaked me out a bit. I'm glad they didn't include it in the movie! Also, I was kind of astonished the way Sauron was portrayed in that the battle before the gates of Mordor; at one point, his image was beautiful and radiated light. I guess a fallen angel is still an angel. And, beside, for evil to be at its most potent, it needs to be attractive, at least at first.
Such an amazing shot of Legolas at 1:59 which I remember from the trailer back in 2001. Why those bits didn't get into the EE I'll never know, since film length wasn't an issue at that point.
It should had been anti climatic, the focus there was the victory moment with the Eorlingas arrival, so introducing another fight not climatic would had been damaging for the narrative. Plus, I know that Uruk Hai are the stormtroopers of LOTR, but that was too much. One girl against 10? 20? uruks...yeah realistic. I know that Eowyn was well trained...even so that was too unrealistic. She had her moment in ROK.
@@xavidelfiorano Yeah, because Aragorn and Gimli jumping into the fucking Uruk army at the gate is realistic. Not mentioning the Legolas Tony Hawking the shield
why eowyn her scenes from the glittering caves was cut is weird, having her skirt stuck up with her blade is real af. i kinda wanna start a petition to add all the scenes that got cut, making lotr a 36hour epic is a win for all of us :) :) :) :) :)
I hope they'll release another special edition with never before seen footage :). That's all we can hope for now. But I'm already really gratefull for all three extended editions and all those bonuses, it's more than a true fan could wish for :).
I wish they would have left Sauron in, instead of replacing him with (and yes, I'm going to say this and it will make sense in a minute) an 'ordinary' troll. Watch the scene again, and each clip that cuts to Legolas, as he is LITERALLY flipping out when he sees Aragorn fall to the ground fighting a TROLL. Legolas has seen Aragorn in countless battles, in trouble many, many times (he kept jumping into throngs of Uruk-hai, Orcs and Dunlendings at The Battle of Helms Deep for God's sake!). I just could *NOT* understand the look of abject terror on his face as he tries to get to Aragorns side. When I learned Aragorn was initially fighting the deadliest foe he had ever fought and his life was truely in danger from Sauron and not a 'troll', I understood the scene and was sad that PJ changed it.

Miranda Otto is the best Eowin that can be. She made Eowin so brave she's my fav character after Theoden. Also, we need a trilogy of extended editions.
Such a bummer didn’t get to see more of the Last Alliance, including Gil-galad. It was the last gasp of the Noldor on Middle Earth, and they would never field another army again. Moreover, Tolkien describes the Last Alliance as a whole as the greatest force assembled since the War of Wrath. Goes to show just how powerful Sauron had become by the end of the Second Age.
2:04 oh my god that’s where that scene is from. I saw a photo of this in an old White Dwarf magazine and was always so confused why it wasn’t in the films.

For the 25 Year anniversary they need to release the 6 hour versions of each film. Gimme
@oliver stone huehuehueheeeehe

The scenes with Gimli and Legolas chilling after all this madness were needed actually
Yep. But without the crappy music.
there are some moments in Fangorn forest in the book, the whole squad chills
Honestly that very short Legolas and Arwen scene adds so much to Legolas' character.
And the culture of the Elves
@@Ben-fl6rf not really, since Legolas never left his homeland, before he came to Rivendell. That was first time he actualy met Noldorin elves. Only Sam has lesser pedigre in fellowship if we compare their status in their own nations.

Every second of LOTR is a second worth watching............
4.Moria the first great Hall was Removed / trimmed
5.Orcs chase fellowship in to forrest then an extended journey with Haldir showing Dol Godur in the distance.
@Ethan Mitchell - Absolutely.

From memory Aragorn knew that Sauron had no physical form, Sauron was just a giant stink eye in the sky.
@@thomasmain5986 actually sauron had
a physical form again, at least in the books.
I think gollum states that "he has only nine fingers on his hands"
And denethor speculates that the dark lord himself could come to Minas tirith in his hour of triumph, when the battle is over.
Doom.

I'm guessing its the same type of wig but he looks so much like how they made up Thranduil. Its a shame Legolas and Gimli didn't really get endings

Gil-Galad is also not really explored in the LoTR, and in the movie prologue focusing on his death would be superfluous, because most viewer's wouldn't know who he was, or understand why his death was important. It would definitely have given even more of a sense of foreboding concerning Sauron and his overwhelming power, but when run-time is already extending so far, you can't have everything.

I would say allocate money to do the special effects shots that need completed.
I loved that shot. I was disappointed when it wasn't in the film, then disappointed again when it wasn't in the extended.

We're all so completely taken by LotR that nobody would ever have complaints about the films getting too long
Melanie-Rosanna Stevens that's why I laughed at those complaining about Endgame being three hours long.

I hate the disrespect to the hobbit movies.
How can someone love LotR but hate the hobbit ???
Thats like someone loving star wars but hates the prequels.
Ok the sequels were very bad but I made my point clear
@@aimbot_n9270 Well, who read the book, can hate the Hobbit. But I think they can watch edited version with only important stuff.
I agree completely! Back in the day though, when the films were released on cinemas, some people didn't know what they had signed up for and found the 3-plus hours a tad long. Also, most films where 1h30 min long at that time!
I'm glad we didn't get Aragorn vs Sauron or Arwen in Helm's deep. But Goblins in Lothlorien or Elrond in Lothlorien would have been great.
The goblins in Lothlorien was in the book.

I never realised that's the only thing Legolas says to Frodo haha
What would Legolas have to discuss with frodo? Actions speak louder than words.
"Anattar"*
''Annatar''*
Angel would come close to what the Maiar are in our frame of reference.
That is how he used to look

I had that book too, I know exactly what you're referring to!
i've seen it on the LotR trading card game...and never knew where it came from. awesome :D
On the extended edition Fellowship of the Ring DVD, there was a section on one of the discs that had the story boards for that scene.

Thank you soooo much, this was great ! I see Ewoyn in a different light, I knew she was brave and could fight but the scene in the caves showed what a warrior she really is.
I can see why they left it out Eowyn and Merry because at the time Eowyn had already thrown her helmet off to fight the Witch King..
They really should of shown more of Gil-Galad in the opening scene.

Never knew they had intention to put Arven in the battle for Helm's Deep... and in Lothlorien! One day I may find out they considered her as a fellowship member as well))
Thanks for the compilation man!
Im thankful they left that out, all the cutting decisions were good actually, they made for a better movie instead of made-up fake drama.
Arwen can still be seen at helm's deep very briefly, after eomer and the riders charge down the slope. They must have missed it in post production.
@@Ambaryerno I am very glad they cut Arwen, but without her it does make the presence of the elves at Helm's Deep a bit strange. I could never work out why they decided to include them until I learned of their original intentions with Arwen
1:52 that shot was later used in The Battle for the Middle Earth game for goblin warriors!
The task of getting all that equipment into those areas just for those shots... mad respect to the crew and camera men.

@SamTheMan2 Arwen had no place in the battle, however Eowyn at least would have made sense.

I've always wondered where it was in the movie lol
Imagine getting the rol of Gil-Galad and play some battle scenes, but they decide to keep you completely out of the movie.
Other than about two seconds in the extended edition. Seriously, Gil-Galad appears more in the Two Towers video game prologue level than he does in the actual film of Fellowship.
What is sad is that the actor Said that' the battle lasted waaaay longer then it was shown in the movie, like we didnt see shit
I need them to release Faramir and Eowyn's wedding.
God Damnit. When will we see these stuff. At least as an extras on the disc.... I also never saw Gil Galad's death picture before. Thanks for it.

This makes me happy, especially in these rough times. Thanks for sharing this!
Oh my god thank you so much for this! I'm in tears right now, so much beautiful scenes - I'd love to have most of them in the movies
The glittering caves scene looks awesome, but it kind of makes the whole final stand in the hornberg illogical. While the gang are shacked up trying to come up with a plan, the women and children are getting massacred in the caves. It works better if the caves are beyond the Hornberg.

Although this scene would have been epic, it would have been difficult to include it without breaking the climax with the final ride of Theoden and Aragorn and the epic charge of the Rohirim leaded by Eomer and Gandalf. I really don't know where this deleted scence could be inserted.

Never seen this footage before, how great of you to post it.
Such an amazing shot of Legolas at 1:59 which I remember from the trailer back in 2001. Why those bits didn't get into the EE I'll never know, since film length wasn't an issue at that point.

also me: thank GOD they didn't make Sauron appear to fight Aragorn.
Apparently it was really bad acting and fighting
true, if he came back that easily it would remove the importance of the ring
I'm glad they left out the Eowyn glittering caves fight. It takes away from her story arc in RotK.

@@jenniferbaldini3527 vero, ma la scena del capo troll di Mordor si allaccia a quando il capo delle guardie della cittadella nel libro ne combatte uno e quasi soccombe (nel libro, sempre ai campi di cormallen)
That is Olog-hai troll chieftain
It wouldn’t make sense considering Sauron can’t take physical form
They should have used Eowyn fighting Uruks in Glittering Caves - it would have made her character so much stronger and developed.
Miranda Otto is the best Eowin that can be. She made Eowin so brave she's my fav character after Theoden.
Also, we need a trilogy of extended editions.
Wicked stuff. Eowyn's little battle was spectacular fair play, like Xena Warrior Princess 😊
Frodo becoming Gollum seemed like such an awesome concept
2:04 oh my god that’s where that scene is from. I saw a photo of this in an old White Dwarf magazine and was always so confused why it wasn’t in the films.
