We are quickly spoken to by the Health and Safety manager who believed he had some authority over someone taking photos from the public highway.
We are then joined by the Site Manager who believed he has some authority over someone flying a 249g drone in an area without any flight restrictions.
Things do not go too well for them.

Having worked on sites myself that so called health and safety manager is just one big joke and should be sacked, and what a terrible attitude to a member of public, rude man swearing like that.

I'm a senior manager and overseer and would never talk to a member of the public in that manner. What an unprofessional bunch of idiots. The SHEQ manager needs a dressing down. The site manager should be enforcing heath and safety his site. I can see that he is clutching at straws with regards to what the SHEQ manager is not wearing.

I work in health and safety, and the temperament and attitude of the H&S manager is shocking. It baffles me how he is allowed to run H&S there when he does not obey the site rules himself, I am speechless ??? He needs to be replaced immediately, what a poor and dangerous representation he is showing for the company.

I think all of the workers on site have attended a mandatory training course called, 'How to Get The Last Word When You're In The Wrong'
I am a welder here in Canada, building the legs to support an offshore drilling platform. The top of the platform is 135 feet high. We got a big storm last month with high winds. The Safety Officer came to us and told us that we have to get back to work...we said it was unsafe because if we were to get hurt, the stretcher would not fit down the small steel stairs if the power was lost to the small elevator.
The Safety Boss told us that all they have to do is run the CRANE up to us and lower the injured man down to the ground. I asked the Safety Boss is that crane a safe way to lower a human in an emergency situation, he said of course it is ... I THEN told him that if he goes up to the top of the platform, gets in the stretcher and has the crane lower him down to the ground, I will go back to work....not a single man was asked to work on the platform for the rest of the 16 hour shift. To this day, somebody will buy me a bottle of beer when they see me in the bar because of me standing up in that lunchroom that night and proving a point.

That was Great I as a bricklayer got told to get of a site for taking my hard hat off for 2 minutes ,due to sweat dripping in my eyes mixed with dust. Left it to aerate in that time and that was it ,Hardship almost lost my house. These Bully's need sorting out

As soon as there is an uninitiated interaction it becomes a journalistic interview. It becomes perfectly legal and lawful to photograph anything from a public place and not blur out faces.
Flying a sub 250 gram over a business is perfectly legal. There is no flight restrictions over the site. No permission is required.
Written warnings and a sacking is in order for the section 5 public order offence and disregard for proper safety gear. The health and safety regulator can shut down the entire site indefinitely due to this.

I was born and raised in the Rhondda which is the adjacent valley and I can tell you that there are lots of good honest hard working people living in and around Aberdare including my son. You can see how self-disciplined the vast majority of people working on that site are so it is a terrible shame that Colin managed to bring the company into such disrepute. There is zero excuse for the repeated PPE violations, that is a sackable offence, as was his ridiculous use of offensive language and verbal abuse of a member of the public. The Site Manager seemed like a nice guy so I don't know what Colin has on the SM that prevented him from putting his foot down and getting the fool (Colin) off camera and back in the offices away from the public.
