- This widebody a4 was in desperate need of some sound so we are starting in the front by building a completely new and loud intake system. The new turbo inlet pipe, AEM dryflow filter and a new airbox make this thing sound as cool as it looks.

I love that you just use whatever you've got lying around to fab up parts, it's very agricultural like I'm used to.
I recently bought my partner an A4 B7 with 120000km on it and other than the damaged TCM I find it's severely lacking turbo noises so this is great lol

i think gt2871r is the most common turbo upgrade for 1.8t's. atleast the vw's

I'm a newbie to VW/Audi and I have a 2.0T TSI engine on my 2009 V-Dub EOS, mated to that horrible DSG transmission. I'd like to know if anyone has any suggestions on how to make the turbo "louder" on acceleration? I also own a 1990 Mazda MX6 GT turbo and that car gives off a very nice turbo sound, plus the sshhh from the factory waste gate. The VW is absolutely quiet and I hate it. I owned a 2002 Beetle Turbo Sport that also had great spooling sounds from the turbo. I want that in my EOS. Suggestions?
To Built - Love the videos and what you're doing with the Audi Avant. Its actually my favorite car and my next acquisition (if I can locate a 6 spd). Keep up the great work! Love that you include the kids in the videos!
Just a heads up, having the filter that close to your maf will throw off readings. Will be fine for open loop, but later on will mess with it. Just been through that problem with my b5 s4

@@sinformant So did mine. Reading the maf you will see issues. By the way I work at Integrated Engineering, I've tested it in our shop
the 2.7t is different to the 1.8t the 2.7 is a newer more sensitive system to the 1.8t and the location of that filter should be comes fine as i have 2 friends with built 1.8t audi a4s they have never had a problem with the air filter being that close
BUILT it should be fine where it is, I made a custom intake with almost the same setup with my 1.8t and it gave me no problems
Are you gonna do a full clean down of the car inside/engine bay/outside that would be a cool video to do once everything in almost done

Another good episode. I see you pulling a page out of @theRealTavarish 's book. Personally I would have gone with a more flat surfaced for the heat shield, but you work with what you got. Again very straight forward format. If I hadn't read the description I would have been wondering if you were replacing the stock turbo. The gold and the red really set off the engine coloring. Can't wait to see the engine fully detailed after your upgrades. The music level was good, but there wasn't a place where you were speaking with the music playing to tell if the levels were good. Great shout out to your youngest in the beginning. Even your wife's voice made a guest appearance. Do you communicate with Tavarish? I might be late to the party, but have you/will you be doing a different diverter valve? ECS has a billet one that would be cool on there.
@@BUILTOFFICIAL nice had a forge valve in the k04 on my cobalt, it worked great as long as i kept it greased with some silicone brake grease,but I swapped in a blockoff and ran an hks ssqv after getting a tune as even the forge bypass valve wouldn't hold past 18psi.
Tiptronic can actually hold that big turbo you should try it!!

Oiled filters like K&N work fine. Just dont over oil them. When they are cleaned and re oiled, they should be left to sit for a couple of hours for any excess oil to drip off, that way, it does not get on your sensor. 😊
Just clean the maf with maf cleaner spray with every other oil change takes 3 minutes never had a problem in 20 years. My oiled filter maf is easily on average cleaner than anyone else’s paper filter maf 😆

Changing the DV would make it sound more cool
Why you instal this air filter? Ori air filter box is enough for 300hp and it makes no sense to give this cone filter, because the warm air from the chamber will still pull and have low hp and nm. Im from europe and have audi a4 b5 with 1.8t ANB. TIP is good choice from ori tip.

Filter is in a bad place all you'll suck in is hot air and cause the engine to lose power i have mine in the lower part of the front bumper on my mk4 golf sucking nice cold air
