  • I was so incredibly fortunate to have been given the opportunity to test and review these amazing Coloured Pencils by Winsor & Newton. In this review I discuss what else Winsor & Newton have recently launched and what the future holds for the range. Check out this review to find out more about this excellent addition to an already formidable range selection in Winsor And Newtons artistic arsenal.

    Donations
    I am not comfortable adding this to my site or RUclips channel. I receive many emails and messages asking me how people can help support The Art Gear Guide, mainly I think due to the fact that I purchase all of the supplies myself, except those sent directly from companies kind enough to do so. I have decided to add a donations button to my site, however, I feel the best way to add such a campaign is as follows, all donations made will be used to purchase art products for review, however, all products purchased using donated funds, after they have been reviewed, will be used as giveaways to subscribers of the RUclips Channel, the web site or any of the above social media platforms. This way I personally will not benefit from financial donations. I have set this channel and site up for my own enjoyment and not profitable gain. I feel with this support method, everyone wins but not in a financial.

    My Own Personal Art
    I would not exactly call myself an artist in the true sense of the word, however I absolutely love art as it has helped me immensely dealing with clinical depression due to my battle with constant chronic pain and disability. Follow the link to check out my own projects bit.ly/2qAa7BN
    Thank You
    Finally, thank you so much for all of your support, without all of you, this channel and The Art Gear Guide would simply not be the same.
    Thank you so much.

    Thanks for this, Harry! I have been going to my local art supply store and always taking a hard look at these. I'd take them off the shelf and then put them back. And on and on it went! The price always making me put them back since I couldn't find a solid review like the one here! Now I can make a knowledgeable decision! Again, I am indebted!

    Another great review 😊 I've missed you and your wonderful, informative videos and personality. Been through a difficult time and under palliative care now, so it's so good to be hear your friendly voice and find some sense of 'normality', whatever that is! I get up here when I can, as I have lots of time, and I'm holding on and trying best to get back to art, as energy etc allows.... not having a 'pity party' 😉but want you to know how much it means to see you again and knowing I can always turn to you for great up to date reviews. Hoping you are managing too, as always, you're an inspiration... and thanks for adding to my limited budget Wishlist!! Hehe. . Thank you my friend 🌈😊🦋

    I got some of the watercolor and colored pencils at Michael's over the summer. Rather inexpensive. Are these made for Windsor & Newton, or are they made by them themselves.? As always, thanks for your work. Stay well and remain positive.

      I've seen them there, too. Glad to see this review.

      Hay Steve mate, yeah they are actually made by Winsor And Newton in fact their Watercolour pencils are the Cotman Pans. But W&N released them through Michaels first back in July, I think we got them much later here in the UK, in fact they are still not advertised on W&N site to buy just yet.
      Anyway mate I hope to have my review of the watercolour pencils up soon, all the very best my friend and take care.

      I had a 50% Michael's coupon so decided to get these pencils. Very nice; they remind me of the Irojiten pencils - the quality, colors, pigment. They are both made in Vietnam, so perhaps that explains the similarities. Regardless, I am enjoying them. Thanks for the great review.

    Thanks so much for this Harry, I bought these last month and they are lovely! They are better than an alternative to prismacolor I wish there was more choice of colours and it would be great to hear about the lightfast results after 2 years.. thanks so much!

    the color palette and the way they lay down is identical to the brunzeel design/ marco renoir pencils...are these the same?

    • @TheArtGearGuide
      @TheArtGearGuide  4 года назад +1

      I personally don’t think so however I am not at my desk right now and I will test them together. From what I can remember the W&N have a much harder core than the Bruynzeel Design and way harder than the Marco Renoir. But like I say, when I am at my desk I will test them and give you my opinion.
      I reviewed the Marco Renior a long time ago and the way I remember it in my head is that the Renior are soft cored, Design a little bit harder than the Renior and then W&N harder still, but I will definitely get back to you.

    If it weren't for your channel, I wouldn't be aware that Winsor & Newton started to produce pencils. I have been looking for a colour chart for these pencils, but I've had no luck so far.

    I'm intrigued by these but unless they add some unique earthy tones to their line I'm afraid I can't justify buying any more pencils. How many basic reds, blues and greens does one person really need? :)
    Like you I was also not expecting them to come out with colored pencils. But now that I think about it, they already have most other mediums! What's next, pastels?

      Hi Ramo thank you so much for your comment and watching the video. I think a set of high quality pastel blocks or pencils would be excellent. All the very best my friend and talk soon

      Now with that out of the way, I heard many good things about these pencils, such as they are on pair with the Polychromos... can't wait to find out!

    • @TheArtGearGuide
      @TheArtGearGuide  5 лет назад +2

      Hi Sergiu, thank you so much for stopping by the channel and commenting. I wouldn't say they are the same as Faber Castell Polychromos, the Winsor & Newton pencils core is far too soft to be comparative against Polys. However, in terms of their rich pigment lay down, they would be relatively comparative in this sense. Thank you so much for stopping by the channel and for your wonderful comment.

    I have to stop watching. Kicking myself for walking out of the local art store where these were on for 45 canadian dollars for 48 pencils. Came home and researched and when I went back they were gone😶
