I love this set up of having an informative and entertaining artsy video. Please do more like this!!!! I have always wondered about the Prisma quality going down.
Great video! I think another thing to consider is the effects of aging on old stock. I don’t think that a 1930s era pencil will perform the same way today as it did when it was new. But this is a factor that is virtually impossible to test unless you have the resources to make a new pencil using the original formula.
On the final drawing, was she just using the 30s ones and the 2019 ones, or the 30s and the 80s together and the 2019 and the 90s together, or 30s, 80s, 90s together and the 2019 one for the new?
Miss "Nancy Drew's" rudeness aside...I wondered the same thing. She didn't clarify that and it could be any of things you mentioned. I personally thought original & 80's vs 90's & now. But it could have been just the original vs now and skipped the 80's & 90's since 80's was similar to old and 90's similar to new. Anywho, doesn't really matter to me...idk why I watch these videos, I'm not an artist. Not a good one, anyway! 😄 I guess I still find it interesting and I like Rae's personality.
Sweet Insanity I’m not an artist, either, but I was curious. Haha. There’s also the fact that she said the formula most likely changed around the 90s area, so I didn’t know if she was comparing formulas, either 🤷🏻♀️
This is so interesting! Just seeing the contrast with the pencils' formula from the 1930s to today its so much fun to watch you draw and see the differences. the pencils from the 21st century makes the drawing more realistic!
Alternative theory: they have always been softcores but the cores have dried/hardened over time

Can we also appreciate the mean girls reference at 6:24? I love it.
Also, also, Rae if you read this, I just want you to know that you’re an inspiration. You’re not afraid to be yourself and I’ve learned so much about art from you! Please never stop being you! 😊
Very nice comparison there. I like the 80’s Berol pencils and their boxes as that’s what I started with. The older boxes are really cool too though. Thanks so much for comparing different aspects of Prismacolor over the years.
I own the prismacolor art stix and they are INCREDIBLE. I totally recommend getting them and if you blend with the white it blends really well.
A mean girls ad played after she said “you go Glenn coco” coincidence or not????
Amanda Hui oop-
No coincidence that’s google not caring about your privacy
People: go to the future
Rae: back to the past to get pencils then come back to the present
Hello I love drawing and you inspire me too draw
Thanks for that
I had no idea they were that old. You learn something new all the time. I love the facts.
Your history lessons in all of these videos are so well done and interesting!!
5:34 HUH DID U JUST SAY OK BOOMER
Guys this is IMPORTANT Rae just said OK BOOMER
Uhh no, she didn’t, it was supposed to be us that could say “ok boomer” not Rae🙄
That caption was supposed to reflect the voice of the audience. She was making fun of herself saying "They're kinda lit now" and the joke is that we the viewers are rolling our eyes like "Lit? Uh ok, Boomer".
I wasnt first to this video
I'm not gonna be last
But when I got a notifycation I clicked fast
You're awesome and I can't give up the opportunity to watch one of you new videos
I was ordering a Join The Raevolution shirt when this notification popped in so yay

Hi Rae! I just wanna say thank you for inspiring me to improve my art. And I just decided to create my own art channel all thanks to you! I really hope to be as successful as you are
Please never stop making vids. They're amazing!
Wha-
I don’t know what to say...that’s really weird they have been around for 80 years 😬🥴
I'm actually really curious now. Since the old ones seem to be a harder core, if they might be similar to the verithin ones.
That’s an interesting idea
Verithin. Is that a brand name? I've never heard of them.
@@tracymarie4633 it is a type of prismacolor pencils. I maybe should have included that in my original comment
StarSinger it’s not a brand, but more of a type of Pencil made by Prismacolors (and other brands I believe)

Rae:Prismacolor is my favorite colored pencils
Prismacolor:Say sike right now it’s time for some time traveL
This was surprisingly informative on top on entertaining.
I used the 30s/80s and the modern (skipped using the 90s since they’re the same as the modern) 😎🎉
SuperRaeDizzle Ooh, okay. Thank you, Rae! ❤️
I have a set of 60 from 1984. Berol. One of the few things I have from my glorious childhood. They still have that " smell". Great video.
Why is your nail paint always so on point!
YESSSSSSSS
Chloe Rose Art hey gurl😁
Ilyyy
Bruh pencil colours be older than probably all of Rae's audience
When you realize she made history...
This is so interesting! Just seeing the contrast with the pencils' formula from the 1930s to today its so much fun to watch you draw and see the differences. the pencils from the 21st century makes the drawing more realistic!
I never noticed the difference between eagles’ and prismacolors’ core, even though I have used both. Another great video, Rae. 👏🏻
