Rae Rae Rae! Calling Daler-Rowney knock off hurts my soul 😂it's actually a really good British brand, I use their products quite a lot. I think their "Simply" products are like student grade quality, so that's why they are a little cheaper. Great video as always!
I legit started crying when I head bowie was having health issues. Everytime I see her it lifts my spirits because she reminds of my now passed dog Lily. They looked pretty similar and also have very similar temperaments.
Daler Rowney is a named brand, not a knock off nor Walmart brand. They are more geared toward student artists and you can find them in art stores, such as, Blick. We use them at my college in our art kits. I love their ink, acrylic paint, and sketchbooks. Their charcoal is pretty good too. It's no wonder why you thought they were good, they aren't knock offs.
i have never used crayola for me best ate ORO coloroid pencil colors 34 or some 72 pack they have the best pigment knockoff are DEER color pencils. not a hint of pigment
Good video very informative but daler Downey is not a knock off brand, they’re a name brand very well known, they’re just slightly cheaper and more affordable and most of their products are focused towards beginner artist and students, although to do sell some artist quality professional products.

Hi Rae, just a bit of constructive criticism here (not sure if you'll see this though). The video was fantastic, and I really enjoyed it, however the thumbnail threw me off because it's eerily similar to the one in your Crayola vs expensive watercolor video. My suggestion is to not reuse artwork in thumbnails. I almost didn't click on this video because I thought I had already seen it. I think if you use different artwork and change up your thumbnails, it will be less confusing (maybe it's just me though). That's all I had to say, keep up the good work :)

I went to a walmart in my area. The shelves in the art isle were the same But I did find faber castel stuff and micron pens and even tombow pens. It was a huge score on my part I also saw a heavily dented prismacolor tin. R.I.P. Prismacolor tin and probs the pencils inside too

daler rowney is not really a knockoff. Just cause it is cheaper, does not mean that you should consider it that way. Daler Rowney is a pretty respected brand where I live. Barring a few bad items, their products are really good.

I think if you’re going to make a comparison video, it should be a little obvious to do your research first but Rae has a tight schedule as a RUclipsr so I can see that being a problem; however i don’t think that was a fair excuse because research is essential when you are comparing things, and especially if they are cultural differences

Ohuhus are cheaper than copics. When Rae originally tested them she thought they were another knock-off alcohol marker until realising fairly quickly. The cheap erasers and the ink are by Daler Rowney, that´s a major art supply company that produces everything from paper products to artist grade water colors. Daler Rowney is not a Walmart brand. In all your time doing art, have you seriously never come across Daler Rowney? Aquafine watercolors, a super reliable favorite amongst student brands ring a bell? Daler Rowney is so freaking huge that it even bought Lukas Nerchau Farben, the German company that produces the Lukas 1862 paints. It´s not really a surprise that their products can take it up with other art label products.
It honestly depends on what paper you're using. I used to use Cra-Z art pencils all the time as a kid and hated them because I could never get a smooth finish. Recently however, I tested them on actually decent paper and found they aren't as different from Crayola. Obviously they arent aren't as pigmented as Crayola but they definitely are not the worst brand out there.

"Cheaper than Ohuhu." No sis. 12 for 10 (I'm not counting the blender because people rarely use them) is not less than 48 for 40. Both come out to $1.20, and that's using the brush-tipped Ohuhu markers, which cost more than the bullet nibbed ones that cost ~ $0.80. Also, seeing their quality in the video, it's much more worth it to get the Ohuhu markers.
It really bothers me when people can't do math and say some things are cheaper just because the price point is lower. Sometimes even it's more expensive and they still say it's cheaper

I have a couple nice art supplies that were gifted to me from family and friends but honestly I dont use them much. I feel like because they were pricey I have to save them for decent artwork which makes me afraid to use them. Cheaper supplies you dont have to worry much about though and its much more fun to experiment with them.

Rae, The main reason I will no longer use cheap supplies is I want my Art to last. Papers have so many variables and Acid and Ph balance are so important when considering how "good" it may or may not be! same with supplies that need to last having light-fast-ness ratings. Color pencils or pens even markers are not made to last in so many cases. I am glad your trying to show how to use cheaper supplies. I guess it makes a good video eh? I love any video you put out Rae!! And if you want the best blend with the markers there is a special type of paper, marker paper. It's made specifically for alcohol marker and will help any brand of alcohol markers to blend way better!! I have a couple off brands and Copics and it's almost indistinguishable. The Canson brand you used in this video sells a pad of marker paper, and there are some other brands out there too! Lot of love to you and Bowie!! ♥️

so why the pencil was picking up more on the Canson one was because it was a rough texture more grooves that the graphite can pick up on, and the India ink one I have both these brands and I really prefer the speedball since the dayler rowney is more liquid and inconsistent, btw don't forget to shake the two bottles first

It's made specifically for alcohol marker and will help any brand of alcohol markers to blend way better!! I have a couple off brands and Copics and it's almost indistinguishable. The Canson brand you used in this video sells a pad of marker paper, and there are some other brands out there too! Lot of love to you and Bowie!! ♥️

so why the pencil was picking up more on the Canson one was because it was a rough texture more grooves that the graphite can pick up on, and the India ink one I have both these brands and I really prefer the speedball since the dayler rowney is more liquid and inconsistent, btw don't forget to shake the two bottles first

I remember in elementary school I saw my mom bought crazart crayons and I SOBBED! Literally ran in my room and cried, I refused to use them. My mom had no idea there was a difference she just picked the first thing she saw, but she learned after wards no crazart no rose art. Lol
