If you are not puting in a cellar, then hammer drill a few holes into the rock to put anchor pins. I'd use some thick rebar for that. Set the pins in a cleaned-out holes filled in with an epoxy used for that purpose. Then build the pier around them pins.
Good start, Ryel. Question … I know it’s jumping ahead, just curious if this cabin is gonna have water? And I’m guessing power is gonna be solar with some good batteries? Please get a chop saw and a solid table. The skill saw on the fold up picnic table is frightening me.
I have a chop saw, but relying on battery powered tools for now, and yes will get a better table :) I'm thinking of a combination catchment system with supplemental water stored in bins.
Should talk through what your doing as your doing it. That way we can learn with you. And all the youtube professionals can help ya. And tell you everything you do is wrong 🤣🤣 But yeah. Talk us through it.
But seriously… beautiful spot! Will be following along.
This is a dream of mine, too!
I'm excited to watch your process and race against winter :)

Came for the cabin build. Subscribed for the flute music. Makes me wish I lived in the valley so I could hear the beauty of the music.

Loving this, Ryel. Appreciating the artistry and craftsmanship of both the message and the medium.
Great addition to my subs list, super location and glad to be on board from the very beginning. Best of success!
Hi, just found your channel. I am looking forward to following your journey. Beautiful piece of land.
Can't wait for this build. What part of Colorado... I'm looking in the LA veta area...
Front range area :)
Amazing shots!
Following! :) what sort of permits did you need for a log cabin in Colorado? I am thinking of something like this but the bureaucracy scares me a bit!
check the location of the sun's angle to benefit solar panel installation on the roof or on its own rack.
Good luck with your project. Given the location it will be quite a challenge for you!
That is a nice part of Colorado. What area are you located in? Looks like southern CO.
Dam... right through the meadow...id have cleared a spot in the treas for wind protection.

Not a fan of the length of B roll you're using. I appreciate the artist in you trying to flex, but less B roll, more A roll. Please. 😜
