- 👋 Lets put the new 2023 Nissan Z to the test! After driving several Nissan Z cars today I drive one that has full bolt ons and Flex Fuel! This Nissan Z makes 530 WHP and 53- WTQ and certainly packs a punch! Today I drive a 2023 Nissan Z Performance with a full exhaust, upgraded intakes and flex fuel kit running E85 to see how much fun a modified Nissan Z is! Overall the Z is a great sportscar platform since you have base of a good car and a very powerful twin turbo motor! I almost bought the new Z but ended up going for a manual Supra instead. But if you're not looking for the extra refinements and precise handling, the Nissan Z undercuts a similar options GR Supra by about $6k! So with that money not spent, you have room to do all these mods to a Nissan Z and make some power! I loved how good the SOHO Motorsports exhaust sounded on their Z and the turbo noises were addicting! The power in this Nissan Z was a blast to play with!After 4k RPM it just rips. Definitely a fun car to push and has plenty of power even with the stock turbos. They also had a short throw shifter which really helped dial in the notchy feeling and an upgraded clutch to handle the power. If you're looking for a RWD sportscar and want to modify it and make crazy power and still stay under the $60,000 price point, the new Nissan Z Performance is a great choice for a fast GT style sportscar! The Nissan Z feels like a good platform to just modify and run free with and really craves the mods to become a better version of what they are stock. This was a very fun Z to push hard in a straight line! Now the Supra is still a better overall car since it has better handling characteristic and a more refined interior. But if you're just not too interested in extra creature comforts and are planning to do more driving on the drag strip and some highways pulls, the Z is a good choice. Why pay more for a car if you're not going to use what it has. I like mountain road trips so the handling and interior are worth a lot to me in the Supra. but if you want a more budget version of a Supra and make stupid power, the Nissan Z is the better choice for you! Great power and a lower price point to modify it and stay under $60k. And being a Nissan rather than BMW, the Z has cheaper parts and might be a more budget friendly sportscar. Great option for sure but you definitely want to modify a Z! They come alive once modified! And when the Nismo Z comes out hopefully that caters more towards handling and will fit my taste! It just dawned on me that there are very few reviews for the base Z. That’s crazy to me considering how much people were talking up how “affordable” it is and go around spouting off the starting price. There also seems to be this current theme where if you don’t by the most expensive, fully loaded, maximum performance version of a car, then you’re broke and it’s trash.
Unfortunately Nissan is barely making the base Z. Thats how automakers do it. They show off the lowest price, but only show you the top line car. And then barley make base cars. Chevy did it with the C8 Corvette, and Toyota even did it with the Supra. Vast majority of cars they are making are the trim cars. Production is still bad these last few years so I guess for them it makes the most sense to build the most expensive cars

Also, white on the Z is the best color, but I will say I’m a bit biased 😎

Looks better than the Supra as well imo. More timeless, classy, elegant lines that will surely age more gracefully than the over-styled Supra.
Honestly I think the Supra is still better looking inside and out. Z will be a cool car overtime too. But all subjective points. Fast with the mods!

Yeah I have to disagree respectfully, I think the Z looks fine but the Supra actually looks more expensive than its price. If you took off the badging and asked me how much I thought the Z cost I'd probably say 35 or 40. The Supra however looks around 70,000 to me while also having the more exciting engine and snappier transmission, while also handling 800hp like a champ after going crazy on the mods.
@@M2habibi yeah I totally agree with you. Part of the reason I bought the Supra instead. Felt like a $60k car all day long. Really gives you a high end feeling for the money
I feel like the human inclination to personalize and customize cars is very inherit in our being. It must be really fun to take it further like this car.

I sold my 2020 Toyota Supra for the Z, after more than a year of it not coming out. I bought a manual Supra.
The Z is a cool car but for the money the Supra is way better. We’ve made plenty of content on the Z and the Supra is so much better in every way!
And the nismo is only an auto which is crazy to see. But you still can’t even get a Z.
Hope you still read comments. You think this would be good fit for someone that just enjoys road trips and casual day to day driving? No plans on tracking this, I live in the midwest (huge open highways)
Yeah would be a fun option! Its much softer then the Supra and has better visibility. So if you just want a fun car to drive and not spend $60k, a Z could be good. Check out the Sport trim for about $40k. Could be the perfect option!

When a car is modded like this, who does a tune-up on it? cause I know they wont' touch it
You still take it to dealers for routine maintenance. But of course anything related to the mods. You can take to the shop who installed them. Or if you did the work yourself. Theres plenty of shops that deal with modded cars..
Theirs one around me I raced in my full bolt e60 WRX and again in my FBO e85 06 STI. I beat him in both cars up to around 110. He got a downpipe and a tune, we met up again and he pulled me HARD every run 🤟🏻

Stock it’s definitely missing some things. It’s a great car to just build it into your version of it. So lots of potential with it!

Can't really drive a car like this to its potential without hitting 100mph. Not really going to do that in someone else's car. It's quick tho for the platform. Similar to any tuned Supra

Hey bro.... Really need your help. I couldn't bring my GTR back from Germany because it was euro-spec, currently driving an IS500 but for the price point I was looking to get into a Z and do a bunch of upgrades. I'd be looking at an automatic though. Maybe even a Nismo Z.... would you recommend the switch?
I'd go for the Nismo Z all day. However the Toyota Supra is a significantly better car for less money than the Nismo. Normal auto Z is has a very slow to respond transmission. Supra is a lot better to be honest. Or a BMW M2. The Z will feel like a pretty big downgrade from the GTR. Check out our channel we have tons of videos on the new Z and I've owned 2 Supras and a GTR

@@BrosFOURRSpeed In Canada The Z after conversion is 44k USD for the perf model and 35k for the base, which is hard to pass up. The Supra costs quite a bit more, up nearly 15k CAD from perf Z. The Nismo will likely line up in price with the Supra here.

Heavily modified means HUGE turbo, built motor and 1000+ hp ..
Given there are only a few Nissan Z's even out. A FBO E85 Drag built Z is heavily modified for the time being. Eventually this will have big turbos, but one step at a time. Especially since this car has 300 miles on it

When you get BIG turbo's and your pumping 1000+ hp, then you can say its heavily modified.

I would have done all the same performance parts on mine like theirs. My Supra has all the same parts. Just no tuning or E85 yet.
I would’ve built a car for the street and mountains. They built theirs for the strip. Just depends on what you want to use the car for

@@josephtejeda854 lol yeah the Z needs mods to get to the level of a stock Supra. Definitely for a different user I think. It if your just building a performance car more for straight line. Z is a great platform. Loose all the extra refinements from a Supra and save $6k. And you have more room to build up the car. So just depends. I chose Supra because I wanted the creature comforts and better handling. And either of my cars would get FBO mods and suspension upgrades. So the price just didn’t make a difference

I think if you put that much money in your supra it will still outperform the Z.
This whole mod for mod debate doesn't make a lot of sense tbh the main reason to buy either is the looks, you can make them both fast af

I think it’s obvious, if you add the price difference into mods, the Z would be faster. Save 6-7 K and mod it or get the sport model and save 20k for mods.
Vrx70 turbos are about to be released for the z. 741whp on e43. Mods cost basically are the same when getting up to high hp. The reason why it cost more is because twin turbos are more expensive then single turbos.
