Thank you. I've stayed off watching college videos because of the anxiety and worsening impostor syndrome I've gotten from rejection after rejection, and being waitlisted at my dream school. Thanks for being an inspiration; and because of you I just sent my LOCI to my dream school.
His videos are so interesting that I watch every one despite the topics not applying to me. I got accepted through ED but found nic after my whole process was over (wish I found his videos sooner haha)
I was just waitlisted at Yale, UPenn, and UChicago. Thanks for this video man, really puts things into perspective. For now, I'll be focusing on my offers from Duke, Swarthmore, and Berkeley and leave those waitlists to the very back of my mind.
Hopefully one (or more if I'm lucky) takes me, if not, I'll be completely fine.

@@Milo-yf6bd Hey mate, sorry for the late response. I got off the waitlist at UChicago, but was rejected by Yale a few days ago. They were very over-enrolled this year, and didn't take a single person off the waitlist. Still waiting on Penn, but I'm very happy with UChicago atm! Did you apply to any colleges this year?

The school emailed me stating that they already sent invitations for interviews and they will review my application before the decision notification deadline. They'll let me know if I'll be waitlisted or not. What should I do?
I definitely agree with this method I was on the waitlist at my school as well and I wrote a letter to them four days before I got admitted off the waitlist. Another thing is persistence the main thing a college wants to know when selecting people off the waitlist is that you actually want to go there and that you will enroll if they offer you admission so check in from time to time whether it’s weekly or monthly just stay consistent.
@@authenticallyaisha doesn't matter when you send it because they don't even start looking at the wait lists until the deposit deadline in may 1 and the number of people matriculating rd. As long as you get it out before the date they give you, you should be good. Also don't do more or less than they ask. Giving too much is will seem like your almost hassling them and it's annoying. Better keep it short and sweet. Doing too little shows less commitment to the school.

Pipa Meka Prepare to be amazed ! ........ I got a 1300 on my SAT (took it 4 times 🔫). Definitely not a strong point in my application. However, I have a 4.65 GPA (6 aps) , which puts my at the top of my class. I also participated in tons of ECs & sports which I held leadership positions in. I come from an urban city and am Hispanic too if that changes anything. My LORs and essays were fire. That’s about it. ONE THING I LEARNED: SCORES ARENT EVERYTHING SCHOOLS LIKE TO SEE PERSONALITIES!

When did you find out that you were off the waitlist? I know they only tell you after May 1st. I was waitlisted for a school I like, but I’d also lose a 1.5k deposit and a pretty decent scholarship ship at another if I somehow got off the waitlist and decided to go
amandamaryanna I know I'm not Nicolas but when I found out I got off the waitlist at Princeton it was May 22nd of last year, and I had already committed to another school. I had also put down a deposit and I believe I signed a lease at an apartment already too. It is very annoying that they tell you so late because most people would have already committed somewhere else since you never know who will get off the waitlist.

How did you figure out dorming as a waitlist? I want to figure out dorms for my accepted school but obviously can't commit to a roommate... did you have to do random roommates? Also, is your need-based financial aid affected since you were a waitlist student? You were making money from photography but attending Princeton probably isn't cheap...

Nur Husna I’m a great writer actually working on getting a few books published. The admissions counselor said my essay was really inspiring and that it was touching so that was good to hear😂. I also live with a single mom. I’m biracial so that might have some influence as well. My GPA was a 3.92 and my ACT was a 31 still way above average but considerably low for Stanford in particular. Goes to show a multitude of factors influence admission. I played 4 years of basketball during high school, robotics club took a handful of AP classes -only 3- so not a lot. Took 1 IB class and a lot of honors courses. And I’m planning on going for neuroscience which isn’t a very sought after field.

Nur Husna I’m writing a book right now that details a character made in my image but with a different name and upbringing. And it goes through his life as he grows up and details his philosophical views as they develop with time. So for example as a kid he generally look at the world with a far more mature and advanced insight than kids his age. It will detail how he views school and how he deals with the way it educates his fellow classmates. You will se his thoughts as he interacts with people around him and show a perspective few people have and how different minds can be. I have gotten a few good reviews back from some publishers and reviewers but they said I needed to add a bit more depth to his certain character aspects so that’s what I’m working on right now. So I guess it would be considered fiction.

I’m in 8th grade and I feel you. These other commenters are right things will change in 6years they will even change for me when I’m getting letters in 4 years. I don’t know about your school but my school pushes college down our throats so yeah I’m already thinking about college . I’m not saying it consuming my night and day . I still live my life but i also think about my future don’t let these other people discourage you

Thank you. Waitlisted at CMU. Luckily they have the priority option, but I am unsure how much help that actually is. We shall see! Either CMU or I am stuck at Vassar, which was supposed to be a safety school 😔

Hi Nick! My name is Anthony and I am going to be a freshmen next year at my local public high school, and I have a few questions that I hope you would be able to answer. My first question is, can I take one or two honors courses freshman year and then work my way up to 6 AP classes junior year? Would that look bad on my application? My second question is, can I still get into Princeton without being valedictorian? Would you be able to tell me your class rank? My third question is, does it matter which AP classes you take? For example, I will not be able to take AP U.S. History 2 due to prerequisites. I will instead have to take AP European History. Would that also affect my chances? I know some of these are weird questions but I am just curious. I hope you could get back to me soon. BTW I love your videos and you greatly inspire me to work hard. Keep up the good work Nick!!
